Abstract: A method for the design and production of improved pressure reducing therapeutic shoe insoles for a person. The method includes the steps of measuring a three dimensional image of a foot and the distribution of plantar pressures applied by a person's foot being measured for a pressure reducing insole. Selecting a shoe insole outline or template which best fits or corresponds to the shape of a foot being measured. A foot display is generated which combines and aligns the three dimensional foot shape and the plantar pressure distribution. A three dimensional insole display is generated which combines and aligns the foot shape and plantar pressure distribution, and includes modifications based upon selected pressure contour lines identified within the foot display which are above predetermined pressure thresholds.

Abstract: A boot incorporating techniques for making the process of tightening and loosening the laces of a boot more convenient for the wearer is disclosed. The boot may be provided with at least two independent lacing zones, the tensions of which are separately adjustable by the wearer. The zones may be secured by pulling on two laces, each of which tightens one of the two independent lacing zones. This arrangement allows the wearer to simultaneously tighten each zone, providing the wearer with the “feel” as though he or she is tightening a conventional single lacing zone boot. The laces may be simultaneously, yet independently secured by a lace lock at the upper and/or forward region of the boot. Slack may be created to facilitate loosening of the boot and easy removal of a foot from the boot by unhooking the lace from the lace guide without a corresponding distance of lace traveling through the lace lock. A release strap, graspable by the wearer, facilitates unhooking the lace.

Abstract: The insert for preventing wrinkling of athletic shoes includes a toe cap having a contoured front wall curving rearwardly into an upper wall and curving on opposite sides into opposed side walls. The toe cap is made from a thermosetting or thermoplastic polymer and may be fiber reinforced. A layer formed from a gel or other cushioning material is disposed over at lease an inner surface of the toe cap. The insert can be positioned beneath or within the toe portion of the shoe upper to prevent wrinkling of the toe end of the shoe upper.

Abstract: A universal control adapter system allows any commercial or custom snowplow controller to be quickly and easily attached and detached from any commercial or custom snowplow blade. A first adapter connects the snowplow driver's controller to a first universal controller. A second adapter connects the snowplow to a second universal connector, where the second universal connector is configured to removably mate with the first universal connector. The first universal connector and second universal connector are color coded or otherwise configured to ensure proper mating. In this manner, skilled snowplow drivers can quickly and easily transfer their controllers to different vehicles rather than learning different controls for various snowplow manufacturers.

Abstract: The present invention relates to snowplow (200) systems provided with a shovel (105) utilized generally for scraping snow (106). Articulated blades (20), resembling a hand (21) having a Y or a H shape, wherein wear knives (22) are inserted and locked in place between twin blades (23), by particular means of retention, permitting to increase the longevity of the blades during frequent passages over altered roads. The blades are provided also with a skate (129) system at an attack corner (139) preventing the breaking of the blade and allowing the blade to follow the irregularities of the road. The blades are installed lengthwise along the snowplow.

Abstract: A snow thrower apparatus for removing snow from the ground. The snow thrower apparatus includes a snow thrower housing having a top wall, a rear wall and side walls. The snow thrower housing includes a rotatable snow throwing impeller assembly. A portion of the snow thrower housing forms a directional chute having a plurality of movable blades for throwing snow in a forward or sideward direction during operational use thereof. The directional chute includes a directional track having a control knob thereon to move the plurality of movable blades in a left or right direction. The snow thrower apparatus also includes an ergonomic handle connected to the snow thrower housing for pushing the snow thrower apparatus through the snow; and wheels detachably connected to the snow thrower housing for moving the snow thrower apparatus on the ground.

Abstract: The invention comprises a lake bottom cleaning device. The device has a self supporting base and a elongated boom mounted centrally of its length to the base as a location spaced above the bottom of the base, whereby the base may support the base and boom on the bottom of a lake with the boom spaced parallel above the bottom of the lake. The boom has flexible depending weed engaging means and the boom has a hollow interior with water ports in their outer ends directed in a manner whereby the boom may be connected to a source of water under pressure which water may be delivered into the boom and out the outer ports at the outer ends of the boom with the water propelling out the boom ports providing a jet action to propel the boom to rotate about its rotational mounting to the base with the depending drag means depending onto the lake bottom to engage and drag and clean the lake bottom of weeds on the lake bottom as the boom is rotating by the water propelling action.

Abstract: A multi-shank ripper excavation tool has a body mounted from an arm, e.g. a dipper arm or a boom arm, and at least first and second shanks mounted to the body. Each shank is perpendicular to an axis of rotation of the tool, and each the shank includes a ripper tooth positioned for ripping engagement with a substrate. The shanks and ripper teeth are laterally spaced apart along the axis of rotation relative to the arm, and the ripper teeth are angularly spaced apart in a direction of substrate ripping motion. In some implementations, plates are mounted to span a region between two or more shanks, rearward of the teeth in a direction of ripping motion, and define, with the shanks, a bucket volume for receiving material ripped from the substrate. Methods for ripping excavation of a substrate employing the above excavation tools mounted on a dipper stick or a boom arm are also described.

Abstract: The improved material-handling bucket of the present invention includes a blade with scarifying teeth on the rear of the bucket. By raising the bucket and rolling the bucket backward, the blade and teeth can be made to engage the ground to provide grading and scarifying capabilities for a conventional loader bucket. The blade and scarifying teeth, however, do not interfere with the normal loading operations of the bucket.

Abstract: A connector for connecting an implement to a digger or other prime mover is mountable on the digger and has a recess for receiving a connecting pin mounted on the implement. The connecting pin is retained in the recess by a retaining pin that is mounted on the connector. The retaining pin has a head that is seated on a face of the recess and a cylindrical tail portion that is received in a passage formed in the connector to secure the retaining pin on the connector with the head projecting into the recess adjacent the connecting pin. There is clearance between the head and the connecting pin and the head is shaped so that the clearance is reduced to a minimum when the retaining pin is rotated in the passage. The connector advantageously comprises spaced apart side walls joined together by across member in the form of a bent plate.

The device comprises a body for mounting an advertising display; and a plurality of nested tubes affixed to the body, the tubes having open bottom surfaces such that the bottom surfaces of the tubes having a central opening for permitting the passage there-through of the bottle top and neck; wherein the bottom surface of each tube is disposed lower than the tube which is nested immediately within it. When the neck of the bottle fits within the inner-most tube its top either contacts a closed top surface of the inner-most tube or one of the tubes engages the shoulders of the bottle and the neck of the bottle is engaged against the inner surface of the inner-most tube.

Abstract: The present invention provides an operation system for a display framework for motion picture for advertisement and decoration. The display framework includes a base, a bottom frame, a side frame, a picture frame. The operation system is provided between the bottom frame and the bottom of picture, which includes a motor and a transmission unit. The operation is: the motor provides rotational movement to a gearwheel assembly through a transmission unit, then initiates the movement of a control gearwheel, a first direction guiding gearwheel, a second direction guiding gearwheel, a bridging gearwheel, a motion actuating gearwheel, and a motion actuator which undergoes linear reciprocal movement. The motion actuator provides the linear movement of the bottom of picture. It is easy to replace the picture of the display framework of the present invention and both the front and rear sides of the picture frames can be viewed.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device (1) having a matrix array of electronic field elements (Fij), which may for example be sensor elements of an X-ray detector or pixels of a display. The field elements (Fij) are connected to access lines (Al, Dk) which, starting from a driver circuit (2, 3) at the border of the array, are routed in zigzag fashion along diagonals. In this way it is possible to provide address lines (Al) and data lines (Dk) which are locally orthogonal to one another and make it possible for individual field elements (Fij) to be addressed unambiguously. The associated driver circuits (2, 3) may be arranged at the same border or at opposite borders of the matrix, so that an array of almost any desired length can be put together from the device (1) without gaps in one dimension.

The display photograph is disposed on the flat surface of the back panel. The display photograph and the back panel are collectively cut about the perimeter of the subject. The antenna ball assembly has a body having at least one inclined surface and a passage therethrough, a tail attached to the body and at least one flexible stopper. The body is positioned between the stoppers on the antenna with the antenna passing through the passage in the body. The inclined surface is preferably two inclined body extension members or an inclined flat face. The two extension members form an angle between the body and an upper portion of the extension member of from about 30° to about 40°. The inclined flat face forms an angle between the inclined flat face and the vertical axis from about 30° to about 40°. The angle controls the movement of the body, thereby allowing the body to move up the antenna as the antenna moves, such as when attached to a car.

Each pair of composite frames are opened and closed quickly and easily, by the user, for frequent changes of displayed material. A variety of methods of opening closing, hanging, or setting up for display, all designed for quick and easy operation, by the user without assistance or tools, are presented.

Abstract: An apparatus for framing a greeting card in a manner that allows relatively simple access to the entire contents of the card, while still providing protection and a decorative presentation for the card, is disclosed. A preferred embodiment of the present invention includes a first mat, a second mat, and a mount board, each of which is equipped with magnetic surfaces to allow all three pieces to hold together when mounted in a picture frame. The first mat resembles a conventional mat used in framing art. The second mat, held to the first mat magnetically, contains two vertical slits that are sized to allow a greeting card to be threaded through the slits and thus mounted to the second mat. The mount board is placed behind the second mat and is held in place magnetically to the second mat. The mount board may be removed by pulling an attached tab.

A rod holder supports the fishing rod and is movable relative to a base between an unset position and a set position is which the holder is biased to the unset position. A catch mechanism retains the holder in the set position while a sensing mechanism engages the fishing line for determining when a fish bit occurs. A link mechanism selectively couples the sensing mechanism to the catch mechanism so that sensitivity of the sensing mechanism can be adjusted in a safe manner without accidental release of the catch mechanism when the linking mechanism coupled therebetween is disengaged.

Abstract: An angling rig comprises a pebble 10 of natural stone and, secured to the pebble 10, an attachment ring 12 for retaining the pebble 10 on a fishing line 14. The attachment ring 12 is secured to the pebble 10 by means of a swivel 16 bonded by epoxy resin adhesive in a bore formed in the pebble 10. The invention provides an alternative to a lead weight which is non-toxic (and therefore ecologically desirable) and also of natural form (and therefore not perceived as threatening by fish), whereby anglers may both help the environment and expect better catches.

Abstract: Natural fiber mulch mats are prepared from natural fibers, bicomponent fibers, and optionally other synthetic fibers, and consolidated at a temperature sufficient to melt a lower melting polymer of the polymers used to prepare the bicomponent fiber. The mulch mat may be prepared without conventional binders and without a polymer netting, yet exhibits good handling properties and superior water holding properties as compared to melting-containing products, without the drawbacks of the latter.

In one embodiment, the device comprising a receptacle body having first and second floor portions, a sidewall portion, and an open top portion. The first and second floor portions having a depth d1 and d2 from the open top portion. The distance d1 is greater than the distance d2 for engagement with the consecutive steps of the stairway. The first floor portion has first and second drain openings. The device further comprises a catch basin removably engaged with said first bottom portion of said main body and adapted to receive water from the first and second drain openings of the first floor portion. In operation, the catch basin and the second floor portion may be engaged with the consecutive steps of the stairway and soil may be placed within the receptacle body. Any water not absorbed by the soil passes thru the first and second drain openings into the catch basin.

Abstract: A planter includes a wire basket having horizontal parallel top rings, bottom rings, and connected vertical wires. Four folding legs each include a top loop rotatably attached to the bottom rings. The legs when in their extended down position each include a short inwardly angled section that nests into the bottom rings for stability. The legs also include an outwardly angled section forming a mid-height detent recess, and a foot. A retainer ring slides downwardly into engagement with all four of the detent recesses to secure the legs in their use positions, which is particularly stable due to the nested relationship with the recesses in the bottom rings. A drip pan, shallow secondary basket and alternative leg-latches are also disclosed.

Charcoal 9 absorbs water from the air inside the lower half of the container to water the plants. Water storage 5 assures an amount of water necessary for plants to grow.

An end cap is fitted to each end of the louver body. Each end cap has an insert part which slides into the mouth and a face part which is exposed at the end of the louver body. The flashing is of a size to provide sufficient strength to hold the face part of the end cap from pushing into the mouth of the louver body.

The primary surface has a lateral planar extension that is at a 9 degree angle to the primary surface and roof deck.

Abstract: A gutter shield for separating debris from water entering a gutter, the shield being intended for installation over a conventional longitudinally extending gutter that is mounted outboard from and below a longitudinally extending roof edge. The gutter shield includes a longitudinally extending length of planar stock material that is perforated by a plurality of intermittent, longitudinally extending slots, each slot being at the outboard edge of a tab that ramps downward and outward from a top surface of the stock material; and a longitudinally extending ridge extending downward from an underside of the shield for the purpose of breaking up water sheeting along the underside of the shield. The tab is elongated in ways that discourage sheeting while encouraging flow rate by entraining. Capillary action in opposition to water sheeting on the top surface of the shield is encouraging by gradually and smoothly curving the bend at an inboard bent edge of the tab.

Abstract: Pneumatic hurricane shutters are designed to temporarily cover a window or door in a building or other structure. The shutters have a lightweight rigid frame for surrounding the openings and mounting on fasteners attached to the building. Elongated pneumatic tubes are connected to frame rails and span the space between the rails to protect the opening. The frames can be locked in place to prevent inadvertent removal once in place. The frames and deflated tubes can be stored until the approach of a storm at which time the frames may be attached to the building and the tubes inflated to protect the openings.

Abstract: A retrievable combinational house comprising a main body to store following items, at least one motor to expand and retrieve the combination, at least one floor part, at least one wall part and at least one roof part; when the combination expands, the motor expands the roof part, the wall part and the floor part in series to double the area, while retrieval, the motor retrieves the floor parts, the wall parts and the roof parts in reverse order into the main body.

Abstract: An extendable and retractable support system for raising and lowering structures, including covers or tops of mobile and immobile dwellings which includes a plurality of telescopic assemblies. The telescopic assemblies include at least two tube members that are provided with enclosed sides and a centrally located internal channel structure that is parallel to and proximal to a center of the tube members, though which internal channel structures one of a plurality of spring elements extends. A mechanism extends and retracts the spring elements thereby causing the telescopic assemblies to extend and retract.
