Publication number: 20060070261Abstract: A boot incorporating techniques for making the process of tightening and loosening the laces of a boot more convenient for the wearer is disclosed. The boot may be provided with at least two independent lacing zones, the tensions of which are separately adjustable by the wearer. The zones may be secured by pulling on two laces, each of which tightens one of the two independent lacing zones. This arrangement allows the wearer to simultaneously tighten each zone, providing the wearer with the “feel” as though he or she is tightening a conventional single lacing zone boot. The laces may be simultaneously, yet independently secured by a lace lock at the upper and/or forward region of the boot. Slack may be created to facilitate loosening of the boot and easy removal of a foot from the boot by unhooking the lace from the lace guide without a corresponding distance of lace traveling through the lace lock. A release strap, graspable by the wearer, facilitates unhooking the lace.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 23, 2005Publication date: April 6, 2006Applicant: The Burton CorporationInventors: Greg Reagan, Christopher Doyle, Florian Lang, Maurizio Molin

Publication number: 20060070301Abstract: A window or door structural member includes an extruded structural member having at least a thermoplastic and filaments disposed within the thermoplastic. The extruded structural member has a thermal coefficient of expansion of 3×10?5 in/in ° F. or less and a heat deflection temperature of 210° F. or more. An acrylic cap is coextruded with the extruded structural member and coupled with the extruded structural member. In one option, the extruded structural member includes at least one of a frame member, sash, or panel, and cladding. In another option, a window or door assembly includes a frame and a cladding coupled along the frame. At least one of the frame, sash, or panel, and the cladding includes one or more extruded structural members including at least a thermoplastic and filaments disposed within the thermoplastic.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 5, 2004Publication date: April 6, 2006Inventors: Stephen Fisher, Michael Marsh

Publication number: 20060070303Abstract: A closure device for the posterior area of the standard rain gutter with a gutter shield installed where the gutter extends past the fascia edge for a variable distance terminating at the gutter shield end closure. This posterior area extending from the top of the posterior of the gutter to the underside of the gutter shield. The closure device is comprised of a sheet of material formed with a primary planar surface that lies atop the roof and is securable to the roof. The primary surface is followed by planar surface at a variable angle, which extends into the rain gutter trough. This planar surface is secured to the posterior wall of the gutter tough and fascia. The primary surface has a lateral planar extension that is at a 9 degree angle to the primary surface and roof deck.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2005Publication date: April 6, 2006Inventor: Lemuel Burnet

Publication number: 20060070304Abstract: A gutter shield for separating debris from water entering a gutter, the shield being intended for installation over a conventional longitudinally extending gutter that is mounted outboard from and below a longitudinally extending roof edge. The gutter shield includes a longitudinally extending length of planar stock material that is perforated by a plurality of intermittent, longitudinally extending slots, each slot being at the outboard edge of a tab that ramps downward and outward from a top surface of the stock material; and a longitudinally extending ridge extending downward from an underside of the shield for the purpose of breaking up water sheeting along the underside of the shield. The tab is elongated in ways that discourage sheeting while encouraging flow rate by entraining. Capillary action in opposition to water sheeting on the top surface of the shield is encouraging by gradually and smoothly curving the bend at an inboard bent edge of the tab.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 5, 2005Publication date: April 6, 2006Inventor: O. Publication number: 20060070305Abstract: Pneumatic hurricane shutters are designed to temporarily cover a window or door in a building or other structure. The shutters have a lightweight rigid frame for surrounding the openings and mounting on fasteners attached to the building. Elongated pneumatic tubes are connected to frame rails and span the space between the rails to protect the opening. The frames can be locked in place to prevent inadvertent removal once in place. The frames and deflated tubes can be stored until the approach of a storm at which time the frames may be attached to the building and the tubes inflated to protect the openings.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 24, 2004Publication date: April 6, 2006Inventor: Allen Atkinson
