Abstract: A passive particulate filter assembly for filtering diesel exhaust. The assembly includes a housing unit defining a filtering chamber having an inlet port and an outlet port. A cylindrical inner core member is disposed in the filtering chamber and is surrounded by a pleated cylindrical filter pack having first and second opposite ends. An end cap couples with the first end of the filter pack and is configured to prevent exhaust flow there through. An end plate is coupled to the second end of the filter pack and is configured to secure the filter pack to the housing unit. The filter pack comprises a woven metal fiber medium preferably manufactured from stainless steel or a nickel-chromium-iron alloy having a porosity of between about 2 to about 15 ?m.

Abstract: The invention provides devices and methods for generating H2 and CO in an O2 containing gas stream. The invention also provides devices and methods for removal of NOX from an O2 containing gas stream, particularly the oxygen-rich exhaust stream from a lean-burning engine, such as a diesel engine. The invention includes a fuel processor that efficiently converts added hydrocarbon fuel to a reducing mixture of H2 and CO. The added fuel may be a portion of the onboard fuel on a vehicle. The H2 and CO are incorporated into the exhaust stream and reacted over a selective lean NOX catalyst to convert NOX to N2. thereby providing an efficient means of NOX emission control.

Abstract: Electricity is produced by sustained air pressure. There are three storage areas of compressed air which make this possible. At the beginning, commercial air compressors are used to pump up storage area 2. To offset the inefficiency of the fuel that supply the compressors such as electricity, gasoline, natural gas or diesel fuel, one may take one to three days to pump up the storage area 1 and storage area 2. These two storage areas act as a skeletal system used with commercial compressors to pump up the storage area 3. Pipes in storage area 1 and storage area 2 contain air at the pressures of 1 atm to 160 atm or 2,337.3 psi. Storage area 3 contains pressure air at the pressure of 3,000 psi, 3,500 psi, 10,000 psi, up to 30,000 psi. In addition heat of compression can be used to increase power.

Abstract: A block manifold for a fail safe actuator system allows the actuator operation with a hand pump if electrical power were not available. A method is available to isolate fail safe solenoid valves and an accumulator from a hand pump circuit to relieve the stored energy from the fail safe circuit. An additional set of pilot operated check valves were installed between the motor driven pump circuit and the hand pump circuit. These pilot operated check valves isolated the hand pump circuit from the fail safe dump solenoid and accumulator. These pilot actuated check valves also hold the actuator in the fail safe position as long as the hand pump system was not used. There is also a hydraulic bleed circuit to relieve the accumulator stored energy when the hand pump system was used.

Abstract: The invention relates to a total power regulation device for two pumps (2, 42), each of which is connected to a working conduit (5, 45). The delivery volume of the pumps (2, 42) can be set separately by a respective adjusting device (6, 46), whereby a control pressure that is active in each adjusting device (6, 46) can be set by a total power regulation valve (18, 58). The latter (18, 58) has a measuring surface (24, 64) of the total power regulation valve (18, 58) of one pump (2, 42) can be directly exposed to the working pressure of the other pump (42, 2).

The discharge volume of the pump (2) can be set by a discharge volume control device (6) that sets the delivery pressure of the pump available in a delivery line (4) of the pump (2) so that it is higher by a pilot control pressure than the load pressure of the consumer. Abstract: A vibration suppressor and a vibration damper are configured in a system consisting of an internal combustion engine and an exhaust-gas turbo charger. The vibration suppressor and vibration damper are secured to an exposed place on the system which is subjected to strong vibrations. As the vibrations are the strongest in said area, the vibration-reducing means can be used to a maximum. The system consisting of the internal combustion engine and the exhaust-gas charger is improved in such a manner that the internal combustion engine can be operated in all of the rotational speed ranges without reducing the service life of individual components or the entire system.
