Abstract: A two step high lift method for oxidatively coloring hair comprising a first step of applying to the hair a lifting mixture comprised of an aqueous oxidizing agent composition and a lifting composition to the hair for a period of time sufficient to lift the hair, followed by a second step of applying an inactivated oxidative dye composition for a period of time sufficient to color the hair, and a method for improving color vibrancy and tone, evenness of color, and reducing brassiness in high lift oxidatively colored hair.

Abstract: An improved vacuum head is defined by upper and lower sub-housings that are secured together to form the vacuum head assembly. A set of spherical balls are captured in appropriately sized ball-receiving pockets or sockets formed between the upper and lower sub-housings to support the vacuum head assembly a selected distance above the surface being swept. The ball-receiving sockets include a “stand-off” formation to minimize the probability of a ball-receiving socket becoming clogged with debris sufficient to the impair the ability of the ball to roll within its ball-receiving chamber. The use of balls as the rolling members allows omnidirectional control of the vacuum head while minimizing the propensity for disturbing the debris in the vicinity of the vacuum head and the formation of a undesired water-borne “cloud” of debris.

Abstract: A debris collecting device includes a rotatable drum 4 having a plurality of radially extending tynes 5 and a rake adapted to cooperate with the drum, the rake having dual arcuate shaped blades, including a debris releasing blade 7 and a reversing blade 9 adapted to contiguously contact either side of the drum over the whole length thereof at the respective leading edges thereof. The blades include elongate slots 11 adapted to intersect and accommodate the travel path of the tynes as the drum rotates such that debris pierced and picked up by the tynes rotating in a first direction is dislodged for transfer to a catcher 2.

Abstract: A head (1) for a strip mop comprises a hollow dome-shaped body (3) which is attachable at its top to one end of an elongate mop handle (4). Web material is secured within the body (3) so that a portion hangs down from the base of the dome-shaped body to provide the cleaning substrate (2) of the mop. To facilitate access to confined areas of a surface that is being cleaned, such as corners, the base of the dome-shaped body (3) of the mop head has the general form of an equilateral triangle. A spacer (17, FIG. 4) is provided between two adjacent layers of the web material within the dome-shaped body, to enhance the volume of the cleaning substrate (2); and a peripheral skirt (8) of a more resilient material is provided at the base of the wall of the dome-shaped body (3) to reduce the risk of damage to surfaces that might be impacted by the mop head (1) when in use.

Abstract: A brush includes a brush body and a plurality of bristles. The brush body includes an upper wall, and a lower wall that is aligned with the upper wall along a transverse direction, and that is movable relative to the upper wall between upper and lower positions. The upper wall has a bristle-mounting surface. The lower wall is formed with a plurality of bristle-extension apertures, and has a plurality of pairs of inclined surfaces. Each of the pairs of inclined surfaces extends from a corresponding one of the bristle-extension apertures toward the upper wall and defines a space that diverges from the corresponding one of the bristle-extension apertures. The bristles are mounted on the bristle-mounting surface of the upper wall, and extend between the pairs of inclined surfaces and through the bristle-extension apertures when the lower wall is disposed at the upper position.
