Abstract: A recoil reduction system for the front end of a firearm, such as a shotgun or a rifle. In a first embodiment, the recoil reduction structure is mounted in a handgrip member secured to the bottom surface of the forend member. Various types of springs and cylindrical elastomer members can be utilized in various handgrip members. In a second embodiment the recoil reduction system is mounted in the forend member. In a third embodiment, the recoil reduction structure is utilized with a rifle having a long gun stock. The long gun stock has a butt portion, a middle portion and a front portion. The front portion is located forwardly of the receiver. A primary recess is formed in the bottom wall of the front portion and the recoil reduction structure is mounted therein. A cover member positioned over the primary recess hides the recoil reduction structure from view. A handle member may be secured to the bottom surface of the cover member and it may retractable or rigidly positioned upright.

Abstract: An adjustable rear pistol sight has a sight base and a sight block. The sight block is secured in a recess in the sight base and has both windage and elevation adjustment capabilities. The sight base has a dovetail that will be receivable in a cooperatively shaped notch in a slide of a pistol with which the adjustable rear sight is intended for use. The sight has no sharp edges or surfaces and is essentially snag-free.

The method of using the worm threader to create a standing worm comprising attaching a hook to a fishing line, wrapping said fishing line around a worm threader containing a notch in the handle, inserting said worm threader into a worm, threading said worm on a hook so that the hook is not exposed, a means of inflating the worm and adding a sinker an effective length from the worm.

Abstract: The invention is a fishing pole with an integrated line tension measuring device. Measured line tension is displayed in quantitative units, pounds or kilograms. A line tension warning system activates when the sensed line tension exceeds a threshold set by the fisherman. The line tension measuring device does not touch the fishing line so the fishing pole with integrated line tension measuring device fishes and operates like a normal fishing pole. The line tension measuring device may be integrated into the fishing reel seat which, in turn, is an integral part of the fishing pole.

Abstract: A fishing lure assembly and the method of making a unique fill composition that causes attractant scent compounds to be dispensed from the fishing lure assembly. The fishing lure assembly has a body that can retain a volume of fill composition. The fill composition contains an ion exchange material and attractant scent compounds that are ionically bonded together. When the fishing lure is submersed in water, the fill composition is exposed to a controlled flow of water. In an ion exchange reaction, ions contained within the water bond to the ion exchange material and thus free the previously bonded attractant scent compounds. The freed attractant scent compounds flow out of the lure assembly with the passing water.

Abstract: A weedless topwater lure that simulates the movement and action of fleeing prey and is attractive to fish. In addition, the lure is rigged in a manner that allows a major portion of the fishing hook to be hidden inside the lure body to avoid entanglement in vegetation in the water or on its surface. The lure comprises a single, integral unit made of a soft, pliable, plastic material with a main body portion terminating in a bell-shaped head and a slender, curled tail end having a flat, rounded tip. A hook channel running at least a portion of the underside of the main body is used to rig the lure with a fishing hook in a manner that hides the majority of the hook inside the lure body. When the lure is drawn across water, the head appears to “gulp” in and expel water to simulate the action of live prey.

Abstract: The snag-resistant fishing lure is a snag-free fishing lure designed to minimize the chances of the lure becoming ensnared. The lure has a jig and a blade attached to the blade in a configuration that limits the side-to-side movement of the blade, thereby preventing the jig from rolling to a hook-downward position prone to snagging. A centrally aligned hole is positioned close to the front edge of the blade member. An eyelet extending from the jig body is attached through an aperture in the blade. The blade is limited in its side-to-side movement by contact between the blade edge and either the jig body or the eyelet. The limited side-to-side movement of the blade creates a quick, controlled, oscillating blade action that imparts a natural swimming motion to the lure, emulating prey species movements.

Abstract: A fishing sinker combined with a bait case is disclosed. The fishing sinker includes a lower cap whose body forms a plurality of through-holes, and an upper cap whose body forms a plurality of through-holes, in which the upper cap is assembled on the upper surface of the lower cap. The lower cap has a bolt insertion hole on the lower surface thereof. The upper cap forms a nut insertion hole on the upper surface thereof. A bolt is passed through the bolt insertion hole, and then the nut insertion hole such that one end of the bolt is protruded from the nut insertion hole, in which the one end of the bolt forms a thread on the outer surface thereof and the bolt forms a through-hole in its length direction, through which a fishing line is passed. A nut is tightened to the one end of the bolt, such that the upper cap and the lower cap can be fastened to one another.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for producing fatty acid alkyl esters from fatty acids derived from vegetable oils and animal fats with an alkaline solution dissolved in stoichiometric or near-stoichiometric levels of a monoalkyl alcohol to form a mixture. The method further comprises emulsifying the mixture as a means to reach a completed chemical reaction state in a reactor section, wherein the oils or fats are transesterified into fatty acid alkyl esters. The transesterification occurs when the natural boundary surfaces of the immiscible mixture are enlarged by ultrasonic cavitation in the reaction section and the transesterification is performed at, or near atmospheric pressure. The method finally includes, after reaching the chemical reaction state, separating residues from the fatty acid alkyl ester in a gravitational phase separation section.

Abstract: A bulb protection device protects planted bulbs, seeds and/or partially germinated plants from being accessed by animals or inadvertently contacted by humans. The device comprises a generally horizontally extending base perforated by one or more aperture(s), a downwardly extending peripheral flange around a peripheral edge of the base, and a plurality of stakes. The peripheral flange may also have portions that extend further downwardly at spaced apart locations. After a bulb has been planted in the ground, the device is placed on the ground surface above the bulb and driven into the ground. The stakes and/or the further-downwardly-extending portions of the peripheral flange secure the device to the ground. The base, the stakes, and the peripheral flange protect the planted bulb from contact by animals or inadvertent contact by humans. The bulb's stalk is permitted to grow through the one or more apertures in the base.

Abstract: A light self-supporting vegetated wall includes globally prismatic boxes, designed to be juxtaposed and/or stacked, the adjacent boxes being assembled together. Each box includes latticed or meshed surfaces, lined internally with a web, and filled with a cultivating substrate, such as humus. A network of water pipes and a network of air vents may be incorporated in the thickness of the structure, these networks passing through the parting lines between the boxes. The structure is designed for urban enhancement, as well as for producing noise screens, partition walls, hoardings and the like.

Abstract: This invention is directed to a method for promoting early establishment of potato crops, and is particularly directed to promotion of potato sprout number and length, and reduction of sprout tip necrosis. In one aspect of the invention, a method is provided for increasing the number of sprouts per tuber, comprising the steps of administering an effective amount of aminoethoxyvinylglycine or 1-methylcyclopropene to the tuber to promote sprouting in the tuber. In another aspect of the invention, a method is provided for promoting the elongation of sprouts, comprising the steps of administering an effective amount of aminoethoxyvinylglycine or 1-methylcyclopropene to the tuber to promote sprout elongation. In yet another aspect of the invention, a method is provided for reducing sprout tip necrosis, comprising the steps of administering an effective amount of aminoethoxyvinylglycine to the tuber to reduce sprout tip necrosis.

Abstract: An access control gate for parking lots includes an access gate main body with a built-in actuating device and a gate arm that is coupled to the gate control device of the access gate main body where the actuation of the actuating device controls the movements of the gate arm. The gate arm can be mechanically connected to or removed from the access gate main body. The gate arm has a light-emitting device (LED) installed longitudinally on one side. The joint structure connecting the gate arm and the access gate main body will immediately release the gate arm from the access gate main body and disconnects the electricity connecting to the LED upon an abnormal impact, such as a vehicle collides with the gate arm.

Abstract: A mine refuge for use in a mine includes a chamber sized and shaped for occupancy by at least one miner. An oxygen supply is adapted to be installed in the chamber for supplying oxygen to the chamber. A carbon dioxide reduction system is adapted to be installed in the chamber for reducing carbon dioxide in the chamber. The carbon dioxide reduction system is operable in the mine without an electrical power source.

Abstract: An emergency escape window includes an inner frame positioned within an opening of an outer frame which is large enough to permit a person to escape through it. Latch openings are provided in the outer frame. Latch receivers are secured to an outer peripheral edge of the inner frame in alignment with each of the latch openings. Latch members are positioned within each of the latch openings. The latch members are being movable between a locking position and a release position. In the locking position, the latch members are engaged with the latched receivers to preclude movement of the inner frame relative to the outer frame. In the release position, the latch members are disengaged from the latch receivers and the inner frame is freely movable relative to the outer frame, such that the inner frame can be removed to permit escape through the opening of the outer frame.

Abstract: A weather strip for a motor vehicle, which is capable of being elongated or contracted upon the attachment to a vehicle body, thereby facilitating the attachment thereof. The weather strip has a ring-shaped configuration by connecting longitudinal ends thereof to each other with a connecting section, and includes a base portion for attachment to a flange provided in a closing member for closing an opening in a vehicle body or an opening portion around the opening, and a seal portion integrally formed with the base portion for contacting a facing member, that is the opening portion or the closing member and sealing a gap therebetween. The base portion includes at least a bottom wall and an outer side wall and has a generally L-shaped cross-section. A double-sided adhesive tape is bonded to an interior face of the outer side wall except for a predetermined area which ranges between both longitudinal ends of the connecting section.

Abstract: A motor vehicle door with a door body is formed from a door inner part and a door outer panel fastened thereto. The door body has toward a top, a shaft opening for a window shaft located inside the door body, and a shaft reinforcement fastened to the door inner part and extends below the shaft opening and on which the door outer panel is supported with its upper flange which lies adjacent to the shaft opening and is bent off downwardly. Abstract: The rain gutter debris prophylactic system has a first panel member and a second panel member joined by a trough with drains in the bottom. The trough helps regulate water flow, discourages water accumulation on the surface or the formation of icicles on the edge of the prophylactic. The front edge of the trough forms a water accelerator. In addition the drains formed in the trough allow the prophylactic to be bent by hand to match the angle formed between the roof and the gutter without heavy equipment such as hand brakes. The cap is a mushroom-like shape. Such configuration of the connector aids in installation by lessening instances of binding and align and guide the caps into their corresponding receiving areas. The tiles are preferably square, and are connected along all four sides.

Abstract: An adjustable stairway system provides access between a first elevation level and a second elevation level. The system includes a pair of expandable and retractable scissor stringers and multiple spaced apart treads joining the pair of stringers. The system further includes a first mounting assembly structured to allow a top portion of the stairway to be relatively permanently secured to a landing or other man-made structure, and second, different mounting assembly that allows a bottom portion of the stairway to be removably secured to natural terrain such as a beach. A magnetic seal secures one or more secondary window coverings to the existing window. An alarm system can be incorporated into the secondary window to provide additional security. A valve is incorporated into the window or frame to fill the area between the existing window and the secondary window with gas, or vacuum the area between the existing window and the secondary window. The construction of the secondary window allows the secondary window to be easily removed and reinstalled when required for seasonal or year long protection.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a multi-layer fluid delivery device for post-installation in-situ barrier creation. The device provides a medium for post-installation injection of remedial substances such as waterproofing polymeric resins or cementitious materials, insecticides, mold preventatives, rust retardants and the like. The device comprises a first layer and a second layer, with optionally an intermediate layer therebetween, and a plurality of tubes extending outwardly from the first layer. The first layer is preferably semi-permeable; the second layer is non-permeable; the optional intermediate layer is a void-inducing layer. The multi-layered device is attached to a structural substrate and a construction material such as concrete or shotcrete is applied against its surface (and around the plurality of tubes). Abstract: The invention is a locking mechanism for securing two solid wood, particle wood and fibreboard panels. It requires “no tools” to secure the panels, and the panels are secured by inserting a headed shank into a slotted plug receiver member. The purpose of the invention is to provide a fast and convenient way for securing two home or office furnishing panels together without the use of tools. The advantage of the invention is to present the end consumer with a truly “no tools” assembly of furnishing systems. The headed screw and slotted plug combination will initially be presented in a “no tools” line of furniture. Other possible applications include: store display fixtures, installation of blinds and drapery, and shelving.
