The unit incorporates the soft tie and the ratchet, which are permanently attached (unlike almost all other ratchet ties). With the bike on its kickstand, loosely attach the Easy-Tie on the bike and to the anchor point. Mount the bike, center it, and pull up on the straps (buckle side). This takes the slack out of the straps and holds the bike upright. Dismount motorcycle, and use the ratchets to secure the motorcycle and finalize the tie down. To release the motorcycle, push one of the buckles. The ratchets never have to be loosened when a load exists on the straps. Abstract: The invention provides a method for fabricating a large sheet metal product having a three-dimensional shape such as a cover of a machine tool, without performing a welding process, and a product fabricated by the same. A cover unit 1 of a machine tool is fabricated by fixing to a circumference edge portion of a cover sheet 10 edge members 110, 120, 130, 210, 220, 230, 310 and 410 via fastening members such as bolts and nuts. The cover sheet 10 and each of the edge members are formed by nesting an expansion plan based on a three-dimensional solid model data of the cover unit 1 on a sheet metal material on a laser beam machine, and subjecting the same to laser processing. At this time, various information such as bend lines and bend angles required in the post process are marked off on each component via laser processing. The components having been subjected to high-precision laser processing are subjected to necessary bending process.

Abstract: A method for fabricating sliders (magnetic heads) with a recessed surface around a magnetic feature such as the active components of the write head on the air-bearing surface (ABS) is described. An embodiment of the method applies a positive photoresist to the exposed ABS surface, a magnetic field is applied, then liquid ferrofluid is applied on top of the photoresist. The pole pieces around the write gap will interact with the applied magnetic field so that the field gradient is highest around the write gap and the mobile ferrofluid will preferentially collect in the areas of the surface having the highest magnetic field gradient. The opaque magnetic particles in the ferrofluid form an optical ferrofluid mask over the photoresist around the write gap. The unmasked surface of the slider is milled which results in the recession of material around the write gap.

Abstract: A method for forming a bottom spin valve sensor element with a novel seed layer and synthetic antiferromagnetic pinned layer and the sensor so formed. The novel seed layer comprises an approximately 30 angstrom thick layer of NiCr whose atomic percent of Cr is 31%. On this seed layer there can be formed either a single bottom spin valve read sensor or a symmetric dual spin valve read sensor having synthetic antiferromagnetic pinned layers. An extremely thin (approximately 80 angstroms) MnPt pinning layer can be formed directly on the seed layer and extremely thin pinned and free layers can then subsequently be formed so that the sensors can be used to read recorded media with densities exceeding 60 Gb/in2. Moreover, the high pinning field and optimum magnetostriction produces an extremely robust sensor.

Abstract: A wiring circuit board and a method of producing the same are provided in which a desired pattern of wiring is provided at higher density while permitting no overflow from the grooves of an electroless plating catalyst containing solution and an electric conductor forming liquid such as silver ink. The pattern of electric conductor is deposited by applying the electric conductor forming liquid into the grooves provided in a substrate and distributing the same along the grooves with the action of capillarity. The method starts with patterning the grooves in the surface of the substrate (S1), applying the electric conductor forming liquid into the grooves (S2), and coating the surface of the substrate with a layer of repellent liquid which is lower in the affinity with the electric conductor forming liquid (S3). This is followed by cleaning at least the grooves (S4) and then filling the grooves with the electric conductor forming liquid once again (S5).

Abstract: A method for producing printed circuit board sets capable of being made, among other things, without adhesive, in flexible manner and with very small transverse connections with diameters of the order of 1 to 3 ?m. The method uses, as starting material for the printed circuit board set, a support element free of any copper layer. The through holes, in particular for the smallest transverse connection, are made by spraying heavy ions into the obtained material. Only subsequently the surface of the support element are coated with a copper film. The electrical transverse connections are thus simultaneously produced. If the support element is, for example, flexible polyimide and it has not been pretreated for the copper plating, it is possible to use the heavy ion process not only to produce the holes, but also to make the surface rough. The desired printed circuit board set is then completed according to the usual methods.
