Abstract: An elongate neck of a toothbrush extends askew to an elongate handle which encloses a rotary motor. At the end of the neck is a head to which brush blocks are mounted for movement relative to the head. The transmission includes a driving member and a driven member for transmitting torque from the motor, the driving member rotating about a driving member axis, and the driven member rotating about a driven member axis. A crankshaft mounted to the head converts rotation of the driven member to movement of a brush block, the driven member axis is skewed or offset relative to the driving member axis, and the driving member and the driven member are connected by a helical spring flexible coupling. One brush block rotates in an oscillating manner and a pair of brush blocks oscillate, in a linear manner, 180 degrees out of phase.

Abstract: Miniature circuitry and inductor components in which multiple levels of printed circuitry are formed on each side of a support panel, typically a printed circuit board or rigid flex. Electrical connection between the plural levels of circuitry and multiple windings around magnetic members are provided by plural plated through hole conductors. Small through hole openings accommodate a plurality of the plated through hole conductors since each is insulated from the others by a very thin layer of vacuum deposited organic layer such as parylene having a high dielectric strength. Adhesion of this plated copper to the organic layer is provided by first applying an adhesive promotor to the surface of the organic layer followed by the vacuum deposition of the organic layer.

Abstract: A printed circuit board with improved signal integrity for one or more differential signal pairs incorporates one or more conductive regions. In an exemplary embodiment, via structures for the differential pair that interconnect signal traces are isolated from the conductive region by an antipad area around the via structures and a conductive bridge. In alternate embodiment, an antipad area around the via structures includes a bridge between the via structures. The antipad area may comprise, by way of non-limiting example, a clipped circular aperture or a modified rectangular aperture. The bridge may, by non-limiting examples, comprise a portion of the conductive region to permit impedance tailoring of the differential pair with respect to the conductive region.
