Abstract: Two integrally formed multipurpose devices with the resemblance of an aesthetic pillar hollowed out incorporating a cove element at the lower portion that is preformed to fit over and cover intersecting comers of previously installed cove base used in the flooring industry. The Cove base corner cover provides a unified junction between the two adjacent sides of a corner. This invention also provides an inexpensive, simplistic and productive procedure for installations of inside and outside corners. Precision cuts along with most all of the numerous steps currently being utilized to navigate into or from and around intersecting comers is eliminated. The problems such as, the cove element collapsing into itself as well as the popping of the upper edge associated with wrapping cove base around a corner, is also eliminated and for the most part, frustration and aggravation incurred while facilitating installations at the corners is significantly reduced.

Said system comprises a temperature sensor (18) arranged in the exhaust line (3) upstream of the catalyst (7), and the control means (8) are capable of switching the feeding means (8) between the first and second operating modes based on said sensed temperature.

Abstract: An exhaust gas purification apparatus 10 includes an engine 20, a manifold 22 connected to the engine 20 and through which exhaust gas generated by burning fuel flows, and a casing 26 connected to the manifold 22 and holding a honeycomb filter 30 with a catalyst carried thereon. In the exhaust gas purification apparatus 10, the honeycomb filter 30 is disposed in a position such that the length of an exhaust gas route between the uppermost upstream portion of the manifold 22 through which exhaust gas flows and the head portion of the honeycomb filter 30 is about 1 m or less. The honeycomb filter 30 has a porosity of about 70% or more.

Abstract: An engine (10) comprising a drain system (80) for removing the fuel-filter-separated water into the engine's exhaust line (61). The fuel-filter-removed water can be directly introduced into the exhaust line (61), and/or it can be directly introduced into a hydrocarbon-dosing line (71) that later merges with the exhaust line (61). A control system (90) can control the fuel-filter-removed-water introduction, such as by adjustment of a valve (84) in the drain line (83), the system (90) and can time such introduction so as to not disturb engine operation.

Abstract: A system includes a particulate matter (PM) filter with multiple zones, an electric heater and a control module. The electrical heater includes heater segments, which each correspond with a respective one of the zones. The electrical heater is arranged upstream from and is proximate with the PM filter. The control module selectively applies a first energy level to a first one of the zones via a first one of the heater segments to initiate regeneration in the first zone. The control module also selectively applies a second energy level that is less than the first energy level to a second one of the zones via a second one of the heater segments to initiate regeneration in the second zone.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a hydrodynamic machine, especially a hydrodynamic retarder, including a bladed primary wheel and a bladed secondary wheel which are arranged opposite of each other axially with respect to their blade configurations such that they jointly form a working chamber. The working chamber can be filled with a working medium for one operating state in order to transmit torque from the primary wheel to the secondary wheel by means of a circulatory flow of the working medium. The working chamber can be emptied of the working medium for a non-operating state in order to prevent a transmission of torque from the primary wheel to the secondary wheel. A suction apparatus is connected with a fluidic connection to the working chamber in order to suck off working medium and/or air from the working chamber for forming a negative pressure in the working chamber in the non-operating state.

Abstract: In open-circuit hydraulic systems (1), the cross-sections of the supply lines (6) and input valves of the hydraulic pump (3) have to be large, so that sufficient flow flux can be provided. This hinders a reduction of the size of the pump and the whole hydraulic system. It is suggested that the supply flow (7) of a hydraulic pump (3) is charged by a second, charging pump (2), to a mid-pressure level (7). The cross-sections of the supply flow areas can thus be decreased.
