Abstract: Handles allow hand tools, implements or other utensils to operate within their arc of natural use, motion and attack without requiring extension, flexion, radial deviation, or ulnar deviation of the wrist from the neutral plane of the forearm. The preferred embodiments further include a grip shaped to increase the effectiveness of the tool and minimize antagonism between muscles and tendons of the wrist, forearm and upper arm, while maximizing the effectiveness of the gripping force delivered to it by the user. Maintaining the wrist and forearm in a neutral position increases a tool user's potential strength by increasing the synergy between large muscles of the forearm and upper arm and shoulders. It also decreases compression of the tendons and nerves in the carpal tunnel and between the wrist and forearm.

Seal lips of seal members secured to the outer ring of the bearing at both ends thereof are in sliding contact with both ends of the outer periphery of the inner ring of the bearing. These portions of the inner ring that are in sliding contact with the seal lips are subjected to minute shot peening in which minute shots of molybdenum disulfide having a particle diameter of 20 to 200 micrometers are struck against these portions at a high speed of 50 meters per second. This decreases the friction torque attendant to sliding contact of the seal lips and makes it possible to decrease the torque loss of the bearing even if the contact pressure of the seal lips is increased sufficiently to ensure high sealing performance.

Abstract: A calibration device for a nozzle suitable for calibrating a nozzle of a semiconductor apparatus is provided. The semiconductor apparatus includes a chuck with a center hole with radius R1. A cap with outer radius R3 is disposed outside the nozzle with outer radius R2. The calibration device includes a jig including an upper portion, a lower portion and a recess in the front surface of the upper portion. The recess includes an outer portion with depth D1 and radius R4 larger than R3 and an inner portion with depth D2 larger than D1 and radius R5 larger than R2. The lower portion with a radius R6 less than R1 is connected to the back surface of the upper portion for fixing the jig in the center hole. The values of (R4?R3), (R5?R2) and (R1?R6) are in the tolerable calibration inaccuracy range.

Abstract: A hair styling device includes a hand unit having an air inlet, an outlet, and a blower between the inlet and outlet. The device further includes a storage case having a water reservoir and being configured to receive the hand unit. Tubing connects the water reservoir to the hand unit. A pump is included that selectively connects the water reservoir to the hand unit liquid inlet. A heater is situated between the water reservoir and the hand unit outlet to vaporize the contents of the water reservoir. The hair styling device includes controls in communication with the pump and blower, for actuating the pump and blower, respectively. The device may be used to selectively deliver hot hair, steam, or mist.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for design of a foot orthotic, and a foot orthotic device designed in accord therewith. More specifically described is an individualized foot orthotic device to correct and/or restore the ideal alignment and/or positioning of foot structures. In the method, sequential pressure is applied to regions on a plantar foot surface, and positional information is obtained about each region. Based on the positional information, an orthotic profile is determined, for design of one or more custom, individualized foot orthotic devices for a subject.
