Abstract: An angle measuring arrangement for determining a relative angular position of two components, which are rotatably arranged around an axis of rotation. The angle measuring arrangement including a cap, a connecting cable, including a fixation area having a longitudinal axis and a receptacle device arranged on the cap for receiving the fixation area of the connecting cable. The receptacle device includes an undercut for maintaining the fixation area in a direction with a directional component extending orthogonally with respect to the longitudinal axis. In a position in which the fixation area is fixed in place on the receptacle device, the longitudinal axis of the fixation area lies along a first axis. The longitudinal axis of the fixation area can be introduced into the undercut of the receptacle device by movement along a second axis that is oriented inclined in relation to the first axis.

Abstract: Casing or work string orientation indicating apparatus and methods. A system for indicating orientation of a structure in a wellbore includes an orientation indicating device responsive to fluid flow through the device, whereby fluid flow through the device at a selected flow rate produces a reduced pressure differential across the device when the device is at a preselected azimuthal orientation, compared to an increased pressure differential across the device produced by fluid flow through the device at the selected flow rate when the device is not at the azimuthal orientation. A method of detecting orientation of a structure in a wellbore includes the steps of: flowing fluid at a selected flow rate through an orientation indicating device interconnected to the structure; and observing a substantially constant pressure differential across the device during the flowing step, thereby indicating that the structure is at a predetermined azimuthal orientation.

Abstract: A coordinate measuring device comprises a housing rotatively supported on a base and mounting a vertical pillar along which rides a carriage engaged by a horizontally translating arm. A turret at each end of the arm houses a rotating body connected to a probe. The rotation of the base, the vertical movement of the carriage, the horizontal movement of the arm and the rotation of the probes are driven by motors in the housing. The rotation of the motors are transmitted by a cable and pulley assembly to the arm and carriage. The cable controlling the transversal movement of the arm as its opposite ends attach to the opposite extremity of the arm, and is ran respectively up and down the portion of the pillar above and below the carriage in order to maintain constant lengths and tension of the cables as the carriage moves up and down the pillar. The rotation of the probes and that of the base are coordinated to keep the probes at a constant angle in relation to the measured surface.

Abstract: This invention relates to a highly engineered shoe sole developed to fit the natural structure of the human foot and walking gait. By inventing a shoe sole with the heightened outer part of the shoe heels and lowered on the inner part of the front portion of the sole, the shoe enables the triple-time stepping by maintaining his/her feet and the ankle aligned with the shoes when standing or walking. Also, by naturally shifting the center of the body inwards from the outer part of the shoes, thus distributing the body weight evenly to the entire area of the shoe soles, the shoes reduce fatigue on the foot by absorbing and mitigating the impact on the foot that supports the body weight, which prevents and corrects deformed walking habits such as out-toed gaits and also prevents slipping while walking.

The retainer may be automatically or manually “set” so that, when the gun is recocked, the cylinder does not advance, and, after firing or a misfire, the cylinder advances normally. A cocked revolver can discharge accidentally. This is because Andrew Fyrberg's 1891 safety transfer bar invention cannot function to prevent an accidental discharge while a revolver is cocked. Nonetheless, shooters in pursuit, for example, are tempted to holster a cocked revolver to avoid skipping a live round that may be needed for the kill.

Such a configuration facilitates accurate firearm and bow use by providing ranges and hold over values without requiring time-consuming and manual user calculations.

Abstract: A fishing reel is provided with an electronic demonstration feature that allows for electronic features of said reel to be activated, but which prevents prospective purchasers from unnecessarily depleting battery life of the device. An on/off switch is provided for selectively closing the circuit. A “try me” switch is also provided for temporarily activating the electronics. The “try me” switch prevents manipulation of the on/off switch into the “on” position but allows for the electronic feature to be temporarily activated. After purchase, the “try me” switch may be is removed to allow the on/off switch to function without interference.

Abstract: A quick, economical and environmentally friendly, “green”, process for the continuous purification of biodiesel (fatty acid alkyl esters (FAAE)) is described using a powdered, granulated or extruded adsorbent. The adsorbent is contained in a column system and is regenerated for reuse multiple times. The process employs an adsorbent such as, but not limited to, carbon, silica, clay, zeolite or a metal silicate contained in a column to remove the impurities from fatty acid alkyl esters (FAAE) or crude biodiesel in a continuous process. The process utilizes the adsorbent column system for the purification of biodiesel, rather than water or filtration, to remove soaps and other impurities entrained in a crude biodiesel.

Abstract: The present invention provides a composition comprising methyl esters derived from vegetable oils having less than about 3% by weight of saturated fatty acid methyl esters and a cloud point of less than about ?30° C. A method for making the lowered cloud point composition is also disclosed in which vegetable derived methyl esters, urea and alcohol are mixed under sufficient heat to form a homogenous mixture. The mixture is then cooled to a temperature where a solid phase and a liquid phase are formed. The solid phase is enriched in saturated fatty acid methyl esters and the liquid phase is enriched in unsaturated fatty acid methyl esters. The solid phase is separated from the liquid phase. Finally, unused urea and methanol are removed from the liquid phase to form a liquid composition having a cloud point of less than about ?30° C. and less than about 3% by weight saturated fatty acid methyl esters.
