Abstract: This invention relates to a metallic composite membrane for separating hydrogen from a mixed gas, a membrane module and a manufacturing method thereof. The composite membrane consists of a three-layer sandwich structure, e.g. the porous metal substrate, an intermediate layer and the hydrogen-selective dense thin metal layer. In the embodiments of the invention, the porous metal substrates were first pretreated to reduce their surface roughness without reducing their gas permeability. The pretreated substrates were coated with intermediate layer, wherein the intermediate layer served as not only a barrier layer to prevent interdiffusion between the substrate and the hydrogen-selective layer, but also a surface modifier to reduce surface roughness and pore size of the substrate. A hydrogen-selective metal layer was then deposited on the intermediate layer-coated substrate by coating methods.

Abstract: A thread take-up lever for a sewing machine is mounted on the sewing machine and can prevent a thread from disengaging from a thread-receiving portion. The thread take-up lever is disposed with a C-shaped thread-receiving portion having an open recess. Adjacent to the open recess is provided at least one positioning portion for fixing a thread-stopping member. One end of the thread-stopping member is fixed to the positioning portion, and an elastic stopping portion extends from the other end of the thread-stopping member. The stopping portion is formed with a free end abutted against an inner periphery of the open recess. The free end can be pushed away by the thread, and then the free end will automatically return to its original position immediately to abut against the open recess again, thus forming a structure to prevent the thread from disengaging from the thread-receiving portion.

An inflatable chamber (22) is arranged in each cavity (18), for displacing water from hull (12), in use, to increase the buoyancy of the craft (10). As the chamber (22) is inflated, it expands to reduce the free space available for water in the cavity (18), so as to directly expel water from the cavity (18). The chamber (22) can be deflated, in order to flood the cavity and thereby sink the craft (10). Abstract: A method includes receiving information associated with a level of material in a tank, where the tank has a hatch. The method also includes determining whether the level of material in the tank experiences a specified variation within a critical zone associated with the hatch. The specified variation is indicative of the hatch being open while the tank is being filled. In addition, the method includes generating an alarm when the level of material in the tank experiences the specified variation. Determining whether the level of material in the tank experiences the specified variation could be based on an entrance level speed of the material, which identifies a rate at which the level of material in the tank is increasing when the material level crosses a lower bound of the critical zone. Also, no alarms could be generated when the level of material in the tank is outside the critical zone.
