Abstract: A trimmer to cut a backing on which an overlay (e.g., a photograph) is mounted. The trimmer includes cutting blades by which to accurately trim the backing so that neat, uniform borders are formed all around the overlay. A removable fence has a stop that runs longitudinally across a work surface of the trimmer. The fence is carried by a pair of risers that are capable of moving between at-rest and elevated positions relative to the work surface. A rotatable lever arm is coupled to the risers by a linking cam rod. The stop of the fence normally lies flush against the work surface to block the backing and the overlay mounted thereon from moving past the fence to the cutting blades. When the lever arm and linking cam rod are rotated in a first direction, the risers are caused to move by the linking cam rod upwardly from the work surface to the elevated position and the stop of the fence is lifted upwardly and off the work surface to create a gap therebetween.

Abstract: Various embodiments of this invention disclose a dynamically responsive shock attenuation system for footwear and/or apparel that comprises two or more materials with different, narrowly prescribed physical properties, which, when used together, produce a dynamic, continuous, and proportional response over a wide range of impact forces. In various embodiments of the invention, the two materials comprise a first material that exhibits generally Newtonian behavior to impact forces and a second material that exhibits generally non-Newtonian behavior to impact forces.

Abstract: An apparatus, system and method for removing and treating contaminated materials on a bottom of a body of water and introducing growth packets to revitalize the treated bottom of the body of water. The structure may comprise a vessel with an open face. The vessel may be lowered down to the bottom of the body of water with the face facing down. As a result, the vessel and the bottom form an isolated space. The structure may comprise at least one agitating device(s) for stirring up the materials inside the vessel so as to form a mixture containing the sediment materials which in turn contain the contaminants. Multiple at least one pipe(s) may be coupled to the vessel for transporting the mixture out of the vessel for processing (filtering, treating with chemicals, etc.) so as to neutralize or eliminate the contaminants in the mixture. Then, the treated mixture can be returned to the inside of the vessel via the at least one pipe(s).

Abstract: A system for marking bottles to be stored in horizontal or tilted positions uses durable and reusable components to secure user created labels to the top or bottom of bottles, such as wine bottles. A badge is used for marking insignia helpful to the user in locating and/or identification of the bottle. The badge may be inserted into a badge holder that contains the badge and prevents the badge from rotating within the badge holder. For bottles stored with the tops facing the user, the badge holder is secured to the top of the bottle. For bottles stored with the bottoms facing the user, the badge holder is secured to a bottle bottom adaptor that fastens to the bottom of a bottle.

Abstract: A display device having a plurality of rotatable sleeve elements, with each sleeve element having a plurality of indicia on its outer surfaces and a through opening. The through opening has a uniform cross-sectional shape that is generally circular, with at least one notch extending beyond the perimeter of the circle. The opposing surface of each sleeve element has at least one protrusion (or indentation) that corresponds in shape and size to at least one corresponding indentation (or protrusion) on the mating surface. When a plurality of sleeve elements are slidably and axially placed over the body abutting each other, the unique shape of the through opening of and the protrusion-indentation combination on each sleeve element allow the frictional rotation of the sleeve element with ease, but locks it at a predetermined position to provide a message from the combined indicia on the sleeve elements.

Abstract: The kinetic sculptural system of interconnected modules has multiple configurable positions (e.g., square or sphere). One system has a central coupler and eight struts each with a pivot element at its distal end. Modules move on the struts radially and rotate 180 degrees in a slotted radial passageway. The slot and radial channel are coextensive. To configure the system, modules are moved outboard, then rotated 180 degrees, the moved inboard as a toy or puzzle or object of art. The kinetic sculptural system can be configured with n struts wherein n is greater than 1 and the central coupler rests upon an imaginary ground plane (such as a hemispheric central coupler rising above a ground plane). Each movable module has a complementary first and second inboard shape and the module shapes complement each other to form a compressed first and second shape.
