  • Patent number: 7832048
Abstract: Tread structures, wave motion navigational controls, and ramp up recovery controls are provided to an autonomous floor cleaner to reduce wheel slippage. The floor cleaner delivers liquid to the floor as part of the cleaning process. Wheels on the device are provided with relatively deep peripheral grooves to minimize the contact surfaces of a sprocket wheel and to accommodate the layer of liquid on the floor. In the event of wheel slippage, or to prevent wheel slippage, the device is designed to move forward with a slight side-to-side wave action caused by periodically altering the relative speeds of two drive wheels. There is also provided a slippage recovery mode where the drive wheels shut down or greatly slow when severe slippage is sensed, followed by a slow ramp up of speed.

  • Patent number: 7832051
Abstract: A door check mechanism which provides infinite stable retaining positions for a motor vehicle includes an articulated guided arm mounted to one of the vehicle body or the door and a mechanism mounted on the other of the vehicle body or the door such that the guiding arm penetrates the mechanism with a relative displacement between the two parts. A wedging function results from a blocking of the guiding arm by the mechanism. The mechanism includes a carriage device with a braking roller held in contact with the guiding arm and a braking element to ensure the wedging function. When a load greater than a predetermined value is exerted on the door, an axle of the roller slides along lateral guiding slots until the roller is released from the braking element, thus allowing free rotation of the roller and releases the mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7832056
Abstract: An opening-closing device includes a fixed gear of a fixed body, a conversion gear engaged with the fixed gear, a movable gear of a movable body, and a relay gear engaged with the conversion gear and with the movable gear, all of which are attached to a locking plate. The movable body can be held at a predetermined angle with respect to the fixed body by making an engaging portion in the locking plate is contacted with a locking portion in the fixed body and by making the conversion gear move to another position when the movable body is opened at the predetermined angle with respect to the fixed body. Moving the conversion gear to another position makes it possible to perform opening and closing operations in a greater angle. Thus, the opening-closing device can have a simple structure and perform a variety of opening and closing operations.

  • Patent number: 7832070
Abstract: An apparatus and method for increasing the operating life of a rotating gear element including a plurality of outwardly-projecting gear teeth each having an involute profile, with each gear tooth having a pair of flanks and a pair of generally semi-circular root portions. A ring tool having a plurality of hardened, inwardly-projecting burnishing teeth is employed to plastically deform only the root portions of the gear element being formed, while avoiding contact with the flanks as the gear element is passed through the ring tool. The ring tool also includes a plurality of broaching surfaces or cutting edges for removing excess stock material from the surfaces of the root portions. • Patent number: 7832082
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an integrated lead suspension component. One or more first conductive ground planes are formed on a stainless steel base layer. One or more second conductive ground planes, including portions on the surface of the first conductive ground planes, are formed at void portions and backed portions of the stainless steel base layer. The material of the second conductive ground planes is non-reactive to a first etchant. An insulating layer is formed on the second ground planes on the side opposite the stainless steel base layer and on the stainless steel base layer. Traces are formed on the insulating layer. Voids are formed in void portions of the stainless steel base layer using the first etchant and the second conductive ground planes at the void portions as etch stops.

  • Patent number: 7832085
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a magnetic head includes the steps of: fabricating a substructure in which pre-head portions are aligned in a plurality of rows by forming components of a plurality of magnetic heads on a single substrate; and fabricating the plurality of magnetic heads by separating the pre-head portions from one another through cutting the substructure. In the step of fabricating the substructure, the resistance of an MR film that will be formed into an MR element by undergoing lapping later is detected to determine the target position of the boundary between a track width defining portion and a wide portion of a pole layer based on the resistance detected, and the pole layer is thereby formed. In the step of fabricating the magnetic heads, the surface formed by cutting the substructure is lapped such that the MR film is lapped and the resistance thereof thereby reaches a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 7832090
Abstract: Chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) of thin film materials using a slurry including a surfactant chemical operative to polish high portions of the film being planarized while preventing the polishing of low portions of the film is disclosed. The low portions can be in a step reduction region of a deposited film. The CMP process can be used for form a planar surface upon which subsequent thin-film layers can be deposited, such as an electrically conductive material for an electrode. The subsequently deposited thin-film layers are substantially planar as deposited without having to use CMP. The resulting thin-film layers are planar and have a uniform cross-sectional thickness that can be beneficial for layers of memory material for a memory cell. The processing can be performed back-end-of-the-line (BEOL) on a previously front-end-of-the-line (FEOL) processed substrate (e.g., silicon wafer) and the BEOL process can be used to fabricate two-terminal non-volatile cross-point memory arrays.
