Abstract: Apparatuses and methods that provide for enhanced connections between PTHs of multi-layer PCBs and electronic component leads, pins or the like. The apparatuses and methods improve the likelihood that the PTHs are completely filled with solder thereby advantageously allowing the PCBs to exhibit high mechanical and electrical reliability. Complete filling of PTHs is achieved by configuring the electrically conductive layers within the multi-layer PCB stack in a manner that reduces the heat sinking effects of the layers during the soldering process. In this regard, the PTHs may not directly contact all of the internal ground or power planes, so the heat sinking or heat transfer effects are reduced. This feature enables molten solder to substantially or completely fill an entire PTH before freezing.

A base plate with a front cutting edge is pivotally connected to a top plate with a front cutting edge at a central base pivot point. A spring is captured between the plates in a manner that biases the front cutting edges of the trimmer apart until the trimmer is actuated. The top plate has a rear end for receiving and pivotally cooperating with a cammed actuating lever, the front end of which is pushed downward/forward to act against the bias of the spring to close the cutting edges to cut a nail. Because the lever arm pivots at a pivot point or axle at or near the rear end of the trimmer, the thumb and finger(s) of the user are positioned at or near the front of the trimmer during use, and therefore, near the nail being trimmed. What is essential to the invention is that in order to improve the detachment of the paper (1) an apparatus is installed on the opposite side of the drying wire (2) at the detachment point (7), which apparatus comprises a nozzle (14), with which an air jet (11) is blown against the direction of travel (15) of the drying wire, and a carrying surface (9) such that the air jet (11) ejects secondary air (17) along with it causing an air flow (18) between the planar carrying surface (9) and the drying wire (2).

Abstract: A method and apparatus for treating a commodity includes providing a sealed enclosure. A commodity is arranged in a plurality of layers spaced apart to provide ventilation areas between the layers. The commodity is further arranged in a plurality of rows having a space formed therebetween. A cover is positioned on a top surface and an exposed end surface of the rows or an exposed surface of an air handler to provide a seal. The air handler is positioned in communication with the space between the rows so as to move air along the space and through the ventilation areas, such that an even flow of air is achieved over the commodity. A catalytic heater/converter is provided for burning unburnt fuel and for depleting oxygen from the sealed enclosure during the heating of the commodity. A controller controls the air flowing through the ventilation areas and over the commodity.
