Abstract: Fuel injection apparatus 54, for a gas turbine engine, includes pilot fuel injection circuits 42 which supply pilot injectors 44 with fuel from a manifold 60, through a pilot control valve 46. The state of the control valve 46 is set by pneumatic pressure in the manifold 56. Main injectors 50 are supplied with fuel from the manifold 60 by main injection circuits 48, through main valves 52. The state of the main valves 52 is set by hydraulic pressure in a manifold 58. Accordingly, control signals to the valves 46, 52 are conveyed independently by means of the pneumatic manifold 56 and the hydraulic manifold 58.

Abstract: A two-shaft gas turbine is capable of starting premixed combustion without extinguishing a flame. The two-shaft gas turbine includes a combustor and a gas generator controller. The combustor has a premix burner that includes combustion regions in which premixed combustion is to be carried out individually. The gas generator controller controls the combustor. In a method for starting the premixed combustion in the combustor, the gas generator controller selects at least one of the combustion regions in which the premixed combustion is to be carried out, on the basis of a fuel-air ratio, and starts premix combustion in the selected combustion region or separately in each of the selected combustion regions. Further, as the fuel-air ratio is increased, the controller increases the number of the selected region in which the premixed combustion is carried out.

Abstract: A protocol for removing condensables from a fluid. The fluid, as an example an acid gas stream captured for EOR or CCS purposes, is initially treated to condense liquids with removal to form a gas stream. The latter is then compressed and cooled. At least a portion of this is then expanded, to form a cooled low pressure stream, and mixed with the initial fluid stream to augment cooling and condensation of condensable components.

Abstract: A process and an apparatus are disclosed for recovering ethane, ethylene, and heavier hydrocarbon components from a hydrocarbon gas stream. The stream is cooled, expanded to lower pressure, and supplied to a first fractionation tower at a mid-column feed position. A distillation liquid stream is withdrawn from the first fractionation tower below the feed position of the expanded stream, heated, and directed into a second fractionation tower that produces an overhead vapor stream and a bottom liquid stream. The overhead vapor stream is cooled to condense it, with a portion of the condensed stream directed to the second fractionation tower as its top feed and the remainder directed to the first fractionation tower at a lower column feed position. The bottom liquid stream from the second fractionation tower is cooled and directed to the first fractionation tower as its top feed.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for supporting and heating glass sheets for tempering or bending on a hot gas cushion. One edge of the glass is supported on transport rollers and the rotation axes of the rollers are transverse relative to the plane of the glass. The glass sheet is supported by means of gas pressure on a planar surface which has an angle of inclination of 2-20° relative to horizontal plane. The angle of inclination is sloping towards that edge of the glass which is supported by the transport rollers. Gas is expelled through the planar surface by way of gas outlet slots or holes. As the glass is moving, a gas is drawn or blown by fans from a certain part of the glass through the planar surface more than from the rest of the area by adjusting the rotating speed of the fans or by changing the suction pressure or delivery side pressure of the fans.

Abstract: There is provided a method of manufacturing a molded glass body, wherein, in a mold-releasing step of releasing and withdrawing a molded body obtained after pressure-molding, from molds, relative positions of an upper mold and a lower mold are moved to take a retracting position at which, even if the molded glass body which has stuck on the upper mold falls down from the upper mold, the molded glass body does not fall on the lower mold. Thus, even if the molded body falls down from the upper mold, the molded glass body does not damage the lower mold.
