Abstract: The present invention discloses a sampling component comprising a sampling body that can be electrically heated and the outer surface of which has a wiping sampling area; and an insulated handle that is connected with one longitudinal end of the sampling body. The sampling component according to the present invention contacts directly the contacts of an external power supply after being disposed in a analysis chamber, the power supply is turned on to heat the sampling body so as to realize sample pyrolysis, and the power is turned off immediately after the sampling component is taken away. Thus, the power supply of the sampler can work discontinuously so that the power consumption of the system is reduced, meanwhile, the system malfunction caused by a long-term work of the sampling device under a high temperature can be avoided. The present invention further discloses a sampling device having said sampling component and an ion mobility spectrometer having the sampling device.

  • Publication number: 20110290042
Abstract: The present invention provides a liquid sample injection device and liquid sample injection method using a total volume injection method, which can prevent clogging of the channel or the needle, or carry-over of analysis components. The present invention is characterized by: moving the tip of a needle 9, before collecting a liquid sample, to an area where a predetermined fluid (for example, air, water, or the like) which reacts with neither the liquid sample nor the mobile phase is present; sucking the given fluid from the tip; and inserting the tip into a vial 15 to suck a predetermined amount of the liquid sample in the vial 15. As a result, a layer of the predetermined fluid is formed between the mobile phase remaining in the needle 9 and the newly sucked liquid sample. Thus, the mobile phase and the liquid sample are prevented from being in contact with each other in the needle 9.

  • Publication number: 20110290043
Abstract: An environmental testing system for environmental testing with particulate matter, such as sand and dust, is disclosed. The testing system uses a feeder to feed precise amounts of particulate matter into an injector, which injects the particulate matter into the airflow leading to a test chamber with approximately the same velocity as the surrounding airflow. The feeder may be a loss-in-weight gravimetric feeder, and the injector may be a Venturi valve actuated by compressed air. The system also includes operator protection features, such as an exhaust fan that creates negative pressure when the door to the test chamber is opened, and when particulate matter is dumped into the system. A temperature control system heats and cools the airflow during tests, a pneumatic conveying system moves fluidized particulate matter into and out of the system, and a controller provides automatic control over the system.

Abstract: A sun gear member, planetary gear members, a first ring gear member, and a second ring gear member together form a paradox gear mechanism. A clutch mechanism is disposed between an input gear member and the first ring gear member. The clutch mechanism rotates the first ring gear member, when the input gear member rotates. The clutch mechanism disconnects transmission of the power to the input gear member when the first ring gear member rotates. The sun gear member and the first ring gear member are individual input elements. When one of the sun gear member and the first ring gear member exclusively rotates, the second ring gear member rotates in accordance with the rotation. The sun gear transmits power more reliably without increasing manufacturing cost and without thwarting downsizing of the product.

In a process, oxygen-containing gas is fed into the pipe space, which after it has flowed through the pipe, enters the production unit at an entry velocity, and the interspace is simultaneously flowed through by a gas which exits into the production unit at an exit velocity, wherein the entry velocity is greater than the exit velocity.

Abstract: A method of adjusting a vortex of molten metal comprises providing a scrap charging vessel. The scrap charging vessel includes a vortex control plate having an outlet orifice that can be positioned at a bottom of the vessel so that the outlet orifice is in fluid communication with an outlet passageway of the vessel. A vortex level is estimated or observed. A size of the outlet orifice of the vortex control plate is selected that can produce a desired level of a vortex in the vessel that is the same as or different than the estimated or observed vortex level. The vortex control plate of the selected outlet orifice size is positioned in the vessel. Molten metal is moved into an inlet opening of the vessel and forms the vortex at the desired level in the vessel.

Abstract: A finger-operable phacoemulsification (“phaco”) needle wrench includes a base that receives a fastening head of a phaco needle. A hollow finger grip extends from the base for at least as long as the portion of the needle extending distally from the fastening head. The grip has asymmetric lobes directed generally outwardly from the grip's central axis. The lobes provide a tightening torque to the needle fastening head in response to a tightening force applied to the lobes by fingers of a user securing the needle to a phaco handpiece. The lobes provide a loosening torque to the needle fastening head in response to a loosening force applied to the lobes by fingers removing the needle from the phaco handpiece. The loosening torque is greater than the tightening torque because of the asymmetric profile of the lobes.
