Abstract: A split solid adsorption cooling system is disclosed. The split solid adsorption cooling system includes a first adsorption unit, a second adsorption unit, and a shell-and-tube heat exchanger. The first and the second adsorption units are connected to each other via a first pipeline and a second pipeline of the shell-and-tube heat exchanger. While adsorption and desorption take place alternately in the first and the second adsorption units, the temperature of the first and the second pipelines is lowered, thereby decreasing the temperature of water flowing in the shell-and-tube heat exchanger. In addition, the manufacturing costs of the split solid adsorption cooling system can be lowered because the shell-and-tube heat exchanger need not be operated in a vacuum environment. Furthermore, as the shell-and-tube heat exchanger is separate from the first and the second adsorption units, the overall system volume is reduced.

Abstract: Isopipes (13) for making glass sheets using a fusion process are provided. The isopipes are made from alumina materials which have low levels of the elements of group IVB of the periodic chart, i.e., Ti, Zr, and Hf, as well as low levels of Sn. In this way, the alumina isopipes can be used with glasses that contain tin (e.g., as a fining agent or as the result of the use of tin electrodes for electrical heating of molten glass) without generating unacceptable levels of tin-containing defects in the glass sheets, specifically, at the sheets' fusion lines. The alumina isopipes disclosed herein are especially beneficial when used with tin-containing glasses that exhibit low tin solubility, e.g., glasses that have (RO+R2O)/Al2O3 ratios between 0.9 and 1.1, where, in mole percent on an oxide basis, (RO+R2O) is the sum of the concentrations of the glass' alkaline earth and alkali metal oxides and Al2O3 is the glass' alumina concentration.

Consequently, in particular in the case of extremely fine needle divisions, the resultant channel walls (18, 19) are robust and stable and can be subjected to a hardening or coating treatment. The reduced overall weight, the smaller friction surfaces, and the sturdier design of the knitting device enable the operation at greater knitting speeds and with greater rotational accelerations, in particular in reciprocating mode, and an overall savings of lubricants and energy.

Abstract: An electric lock includes an outer door housing, nexus, inner door housing, and a latch bolt. The outer lock housing is arranged to an outer side of a door. The nexus is connected to the outer door housing. The inner door housing is connected to the nexus and arranged to an inner side of the door. The latch bolt is connected to a latch bolt retaining unit of the nexus. An actuator of the nexus will extend a guiding block and a protruded block to engage the outer handle to the nexus for opening the door while user inputting a correct password to the electric lock. The door can be opened by a proper key also. The nexus will be isolated from the outer handle to prevent damage to the nexus while a user does not have a right key and password to the electric lock.

Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments of apparatus, methods, and systems for securing electronic articles, such as computers, for theft deterrence or prevention. In one embodiment, a body is provided, which is secured to an intermediary structure. The intermediary structure is, in turn, secured to the electronic article. The body may be configured as a mass such that it is of sufficient weight, shape, and/or size to allow for deterring theft. In some embodiments, the system is configured to render inaccessible, or at least impede access to, at least one piece of fastening hardware between the intermediary structure and the body and/or between the intermediary structure and the electronic article, thereby further deterring theft.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of uniformly heating, rheologically softening, and thermoplastically forming metallic glasses rapidly into a net shape using a rapid capacitor discharge forming (RCDF) tool in combination with an electromagnetic force generated by the interaction of the applied current with a transverse magnetic field. The RCDF method utilizes the discharge of electrical energy stored in a capacitor to uniformly and rapidly heat a sample or charge of metallic glass alloy to a predetermined “process temperature” between the glass transition temperature of the amorphous metal and the equilibrium melting point of the alloy in a time scale of several milliseconds or less, at which point the interaction between the electric field and the magnetic field generates a force capable of shaping the heated sample into a high quality amorphous bulk article via any number of techniques including, for example, injection molding, dynamic forging, stamp forging, and blow molding in a time scale of less than one second.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for moving a wire along its own axis against a high resistance to its motion causing a substantial uniaxial compression stress in the wire without allowing it to buckle. The apparatus consists of a wire gripping and moving drive wheel and guide rollers for transporting the moving wire away from the drive wheel. Wire is pressed into a peripheral groove in a relatively large diameter, rotating drive wheel by a set of small diameter rollers arranged along part of the periphery causing the wire to be gripped by the groove.

Abstract: A stamp includes a metal supporting layer, a pattern forming layer and an adhesive layer. The metal supporting layer has a first thermal conductivity. The pattern forming layer is disposed on the metal supporting layer and has a surface with a molding pattern formed thereon. The adhesive layer is disposed between the metal supporting layer and the pattern forming layer to couple the pattern forming layer to the metal supporting layer, and has a second thermal conductivity lower than the first thermal conductivity. Thus, strength of the stamp may be improved, and deformation of the stamp during the process of manufacturing a light guide plate may be reduced or prevented.

Abstract: [Objective] To provide a gas sensor in which the insulation among conduction members is stably secured through stable maintenance of the insulation property of a separator provided within a sheath, whereby a normal output can be obtained from a detection element. [Means for Solution] Coating layers 64 and 69 of fluorine or a fluorine compound are formed on the surface of a separator 60 (a front separator 61 and a rear separator 66) of an NOx sensor. The coating layers 64 and 69 have water impermeability and water repellency. Even in the case where moisture contained in the atmosphere within a sheath 30 forms dew on the surface of the separator 60, the coating layers 64 and 69 having water impermeability prevent soaking of moisture into the separator 60, to thereby secure the insulation property of the separator 60.
