Abstract: A hinge is configured for routing electrical wiring therein. The hinge includes a pair of opposing bosses aligned along a rotational axis and a hollow portion having ends respectively engaging the bosses. The hollow portion is rotatable about the rotational axis, relative to the bosses. Wiring, such as a flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) has a portion thereof inserted into the hollow portion. A rod is inserted into the hollow portion and aligned along the rotational axis. The rod fixes the inserted portion of the wiring in a neutral position, and thus, reduces wear and tear on the wiring caused by the hinge action.

Abstract: A readily burstable slide fastener 1 for an inflatable device, such as a lifejacket 101?, comprises a first stringer 3, a second stringer 5 and a slider 19 slidably mounted on the second stringer 5. At a weakened region 23 along the slide fastener 1 coupling elements 15 are omitted from each of the stringers 3, 5 so that when a bursting force is applied to this region 23 the coupling elements 15 adjacent thereto are disengaged. Coupling elements 15 are omitted from the top of the first stringer 3 so that when the slider 19 is at the top of the coupling elements 15 of the second stringer 5, the first stringer 3 can disengage from the slider 19. When the slide fastener 1 is fitted to an inflatable lifejacket 101?, the stringers 3, 5 are separated completely when the lifejacket 101? is inflated.

In certain embodiments, the clip may comprise a base and a retaining member that is pivotably coupled to the base. When the retaining member is engaged with the base, structure on the base prevents the retaining member from pivoting open, thus securing the face mask within the clip. To disengage the retaining member (and release the face mask from the clip), a user may squeeze or flex a portion of the base, which causes the retaining member to disengage and pivot open.

Abstract: A CNC system can include a cylinder adapted to rotate about, travel along, and deliver a force in an axial direction, an extension coupled to a distal end of and extending outward from the elongated component in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction, and a removable fixture adapted to receive the axial force and to be moved and positioned thereby along a plane (i.e., two directions) substantially perpendicular to the axial direction. The fixture has a central opening along the first direction adapted to receive the elongated component, and includes external features adapted to guide manufacturing operations for other manufacturing components. Chamfers on both the extension and removable fixture convert the downward axial force into a plurality of lateral forces that move the fixture against a receiver base. Datums located at guide holes in the fixture stop such lateral movement when the movement causes them to contact guide pins coupled to the receiver base.

Abstract: Technologies are generally described for providing inductively removable assembly bonding. Inductive elements may be placed strategically at bonding locations between two or more coupled components. At disassembly time, the elements may be heated through Radio Frequency (RF) energy causing the bonds to break and components to separate. For example, inductive elements placed near plastic stake bonds between dissimilar materials in an electronic device may be employed to separate the dissimilar materials during a recycling process. According to some examples, the elements may also be heated through a directly applied electric current via a network of connections designed into the assembly.

Abstract: A method matching and splicing ends of carrier tape. A Uniquely patterned tab can be provided at an end/edge of carrier tape A and a uniquely patterned notch can be provided at an end/edge of carrier tape B. The uniquely patterned notch is complimentary to the uniquely patterned tab. The edge of carrier tape A is indexed (matched) to the edge of carrier tape B. The end/edge of carrier tape A and end/edge of carrier tape B can be secured together with adhesive tape that can be placed on at least one surface of carrier tape A and B. The uniquely patterned notch is complimentary to the uniquely patterned tab identify matching electronic components carried by carrier tape A and B. Indicia printed at the ends of carrier tape can also be used to identify component values in addition to use of unique tabs and notches formed at edge of tapes.

Abstract: Method and Apparatus for fabricating a spacer frame for use in an insulating glass unit. One of a multiple number of possible spacer frame materials is chosen for the spacer frame. An elongated strip of the material is moved to a notching station where notches are formed at corner locations. The character of the notches is adjusted based on the selection of the metal strip material and more particularly to achieve bending of the material in an repeatable, straightforward manner. Better control over the notching process is also achieved by exhaust flow control of a double acting cylinder. A positioning spacer achieve very accurate side to side positioning of a die and anvil to precisely notch and deform the metal strip. Downstream from the notching station the metal strip is bent into a channel shaped elongated frame member having side walls. Further downstream a leading strip of channel shaped material is severed or separated from succeeding material still passing through the notching and bending station.

Abstract: The present invention is a nail clipper that comprises a reusable handle assembly and a disposable blade assembly, a method for assembling the nail clipper, and a method for replacing the disposable blade assembly. The handles and the blades are releasably coupled when connector portions on the end of the handles are inserted into cavities in the bases of the blades, where a detent secures the handles to the blades. The handles can be detached from the blades by depressing an actuator lever that forces the detents out of their securing position to allow a new set of disposable blades to be connected to the reusable handles.

Abstract: A carrier is adapted for use in a shaving device, and comprises at least one pair (15) of a cutting element (8) and a hair lifting element (14). At least one of the elements (8, 14) of the pair (15) has a bent shape, wherein the bent element (8, 14) is provided with at least two bending lines (17, 18). The bent shape of the at least one of the elements (8, 14) is such that in a functional arrangement of the elements (8, 14) with respect to each other, edge portions (11, 16) of the elements (8, 14) are located at a distance with respect to each other. Thus, a space (22) is present between the elements (8, 14) at the side of their edge portions (11, 16), which can be used for receiving cut-off hair stubbles which might otherwise hinder a movement of the hair lifting element (14).
