Abstract: A method includes providing a journal bearing blank that includes an axis, an inner surface disposed at an inner diameter, an outer surface disposed at an outer diameter, a first axial surface, a second, opposing axial surface, and a lubricant opening that extends between the inner surface and the outer surface; along the inner surface, milling a well that spans an azimuthal angle about the axis, milling an arm that spans an azimuthal angle about the axis and that extends from the well to the first axial surface of the journal bearing, and milling an opposing arm that spans an azimuthal angle about the axis and that extends from the well to the second axial surface of the journal bearing; and inserting the journal bearing in a bore of a turbocharger center housing. Abstract: A shaving foil for an electric shaving apparatus. The shaving foil includes a perforated region with a plurality of holes which are separated from each other by bars. The perforated region is divided at least into two zones, preferably a central zone, a first edge zone, and a second edge zone. The central zone is arranged between the first edge zone and the second edge zone. The holes in the central zone have (i) an average size which is smaller than the average size of the holes in the first edge zone and in the second edge zone, (ii) a floating mean value of the size of the openings in the central zone smaller than a floating mean value of the size of the openings in the first edge zone and the second edge zone, or both (i) and (ii).

Abstract: A multi-use knife scraper has a handle portion which pivotally retains a blade holder at one end. A single-edged blade is held therein and can be positioned between a knife position which is generally parallel to the handle and a scraper position which is generally perpendicular to the handle. In one embodiment, the blade can be rotated to fit within the handle to secure the blade safely. One embodiment uses single-edged razor blades and another embodiment utilizes utility blades. The knife position allows the knife to be used as a box cutter and general purpose knife while the scraper position allows scraping and other uses where the orientation of the blade needs to be perpendicular to the handle.

Abstract: An infant feeding device, including a reservoir section, including a viewing window and a cylindrical gear ratchet for metering delivery of a food product into an infant's mouth; a rubber piston mounted on a handle configured to engage with the reservoir section so that when operated the rubber piston and the reservoir section operate to take in or expel the food product via an opening in an attachment end of the reservoir section; and an attachment arm removably coupled to the attachment end of the reservoir section for removably securing a plurality of attachment ends thereto.

Abstract: A trimmer and a trimmer head for use with the trimmer, the trimmer head including a body rotatable about an axis, the body defining a plurality of axially spaced channels each sized to receive at least a portion of a trimmer line therein, and a clamping mechanism in operable communication with at least two of the axially spaced channels to selectively retain a trimmer line positioned within any one of the at least two axially spaced channels. The trimmer head may include a wear disk pivotable relative to the trimmer head body. In addition, a release button of the clamping mechanism may be arranged on the body to provide additional clamping force when the trimmer head rotates about the axis.

Abstract: An automatic-feed trimmer head for a vegetation trimming machine. A spool is positioned within the interior of a housing. A cam guide formation is disposed atop the top flange of the spool. The cam guide formation defines a pathway. A cam arm is provided that is mounted to the housing with a pivot connection. The cam arm has a cam projection that extends into the pathway. A spring is provided that biases the cam arm into a first orientation. In the first orientation, the shape of the pathway enables the cam projection to move only in a first direction. The cam arm moves about the pivot connection from its first orientation to a second orientation when the trimmer head assembly is rotated above a predetermined rotational speed. When the cam arm is in its second orientation trimmer line is unwound from the spool.

Abstract: Double handle knives and attachments to convert a knife to a double handle knife are described with secondary handles able to form an angle (a) between about 20 to 70 degrees between the long axis of the secondary handle and the long axis of the blade in a plane at about right angles to the blade. Embodiments describe fixed, rotatable, and indexable means for the angle of attachment of the secondary handle to the blade. Embodiments further describe reversible and permanent means of attachment. The placement of the secondary handle at the angle described allows for the optimal positioning of the hands for both controlling and assisting with the cutting of foods and other items.

Abstract: A trimmer head assembly for use on a vegetation cutting machine. The trimmer head assembly has a housing. The housing has a top surface, bottom surface, and at least two recessed areas there between. Pivot posts are disposed within each of the recessed areas. An anchor disc is disposed around each pivot post. The anchor disc is free to rotate around the pivot post within a range. Each anchor disc has two trimmer line channels extending through it. The two trimmer line channels are joined by an open edge groove that runs along one edge. A length of trimmer line is provided for each anchor disc. Each length of trimmer line has a first end that extends through the first of the trimmer line channels, a second end that extends through the second of the trimmer line channels and a bend that seats in the open edge groove.

Abstract: The present invention generally pertains to a saw device. More particularly, the present invention relates to a handheld centerless saw. The saw comprises a frame and a pair of driving rollers mounted to the frame for rotation. The saw also comprises an annular blade mounted between the drive rollers and functionally engaged thereby, where the blade defines frontward and backward hemispheres. At least two guide wheels are mounted to the frame, the guide wheels being positioned in the backward hemisphere of the blade. The guide wheels are operatively engaging the inner circular edge of the blade. A drive assembly mounted to the frame is operable for urging the countersense rotation of drive rollers, thereby causing rotation of the blade.

Abstract: For application in a clothes dryer, a quieting device acts to considerably reduce the noise from objects hitting the drum as clothes are being spun dry. The quieting device comprises padding applied to inside surfaces of the drum, the padding including an adhesive on a side thereof, the adhesive for adhering the padding to the inside surfaces. Preferably, the adhesive is a pressure-sensitive, heat-resistant adhesive. In an embodiment of the invention, the padding includes a plurality of strips of the padding, each of which is placed on the inside surfaces of the drum between the dryer fins. In alternative embodiments, the strips of padding can be placed atop the dryer fins. In an embodiment of the invention, the material includes a plurality of holes to allow for heat from the drum surface to escape through the holes, so the device does not inhibit drying of the clothes.

Abstract: The present disclosure involves multifunctional nanoparticle dispersions and methods for making them using sol-gel chemistry, doping, and sonication. These methods avoid the high thermal budget processes of the reference art. The dispersions can accommodate greater concentrations of nanoparticles, dopants, and ions than has previously been possible since these components can be added during synthesis. The unique optical, magnetic, luminescent, metallic, insulating, semi-conducting, and/or conducting properties of these particles can be utilized to enhance photovoltaic cells, portable electronic devices, and biomedical techniques among other applications.

Abstract: The invention relates to method and device for drying materials of plant and animal origin. The method includes heating a material to a temperature that does not cause denaturation of the original properties thereof, high-speed pulse vacuuming, maintaining the vacuum tor a period of time, and relieving the vacuum until atmospheric pressure is reached. The material is heated in a drying chamber and the vacuum is relieved using a dried air or gas heat earner with a temperature of up to 300° C. A device comprises two drying chambers with hermetically sealing doors, which are connected by pipes haying fast-acting valves to a receiver tank, heat exchangers and condensate receivers, a vacuum pump and a device for heating and delivering a heat carrier, which is situated in a separate thermally insulated chamber and is connected to the inlet of each drying chamber by means of thermally insulated air delivery conduits with valves.

Abstract: An improved desolventizer toaster and methods are provided wherein a solvent vapor recycle system may be employed to recycle solvent vapor throughout a portion of the desolventizer portion of the apparatus housing. In other embodiments of the invention, a water vapor recycle system may be employed to recycle water vapor throughout a portion of the toaster portion of the apparatus housing. The solvent vapor recycle system may comprise an appropriate meal dust separator, blower and superheater. The water vapor recycle system may comprise an appropriate ejector or blower and superheater. Water vapor recovered in the solvent extraction process may be used as a water vapor feed to the heated water vapor recycling system.

These parts generally removably lock together for use of the equipment, which provides users custom features, better control over the force applied to the equipment via the shoe, and automatic emergency functions. An adjustment device (2) generally fits into the shoe block assembly (3) and is fixed thereto with screws or any other attachment means, or could be formed as a part thereof, and the shoe block assembly (3) is removably attachable to the attachment device (1) by means of magnetic force. Non-magnetic embodiments are also described.

Abstract: A piece of footwear includes ornamental protrusions made to resemble toes. The toe-shaped protrusions stick out beyond the user's toes and may include toenails or other designs. Decorations on the surface of the toes, such as lights or removable ornaments, augment the toes' design. The decorations may take the form of lights within the protrusions that activate selectively in response to the wearer's movement. The lights may be visible within recesses in the protrusions or through transparent or translucent coverings over the protrusions. The decorations may also take the form of self-adhesive ornaments such as stickers or gems that are provided to the user, allowing the user to customize the look of the toe protrusions through selection and positioning of the ornaments thereon. Ornaments may also include symbols which can be arranged to convey a message selected by the user. Ornaments may be removed and replaced or interchanged as desired.

The sole portions or gripping pods may be provided with a supply of a substance that exhibits a tackiness for enhancing friction between the shoe sole and the any hard floor. The tackiness-enhancing substance may be time-released or discharged from within the shoe sole onto the lower surface(s) of the sole that make(s) contact with the smooth hard playing surface or may be in response to compression or shear forces acting on the sole during play to prolong the tacky properties and reduce slippage. A visual indicator may be provided for notifying the player that it is time to replace the worn or used pod and insert a fresh pod or insert into the pod(s) to maintain high levels of gripping.
