Abstract: The present invention is directed to a blister pack opener for a soft pack of individually segregated unit dosages of medication. It is a strip of spring steel (or other material) that forms a “V”. An orifice in the lower portion of the “V” receives the unit dosage section of the soft pack commonly referred to as the “blister”. The blades that puncture the paper and foil backing protecting the medication are in the upper portion of the “V”. When the blister is placed within the orifice and the top section with the blades is moved fully down, the paper/foil barrier is punctured on three sides allowing the medication to be hand pushed from the blister. The paper flap that results over the empty blister allows used medication, in the case of nicotine gum, to be hygienically disposed of.

Abstract: A chainsaw, comprising: a guide bar, a cutting chain and a driving unit arranged to drive the cutting chain around the guide bar. The guide bar defines a first longitudinal axis extending along a centre of the guide bar. The chainsaw further comprising a handle section for carrying and operating the chainsaw, wherein the handle section includes a control portion disposed on the upper side of the chainsaw. The control portion in turn includes a throttle lever for controlling the speed of the driving unit and the control portion has a left and a right side. The control portion defines a second longitudinal axis substantially extending along an upper side of at least a part of the control portion. An angle, A, between the first and the second longitudinal axes is between 14° and 45.

Abstract: A chainsaw, comprising: a guide bar, a cutting chain and a driving unit arranged to drive the cutting chain around the guide bar. The guide bar defines a first longitudinal axis extending along a centre of the guide bar. The chainsaw further comprising a handle section for carrying and operating the chainsaw, wherein the handle section includes a control portion disposed on the upper side of the chainsaw. The control portion in turn includes a throttle lever for controlling the speed of the driving unit and the control portion has a left and a right side. The control portion defines a second longitudinal axis substantially extending along an upper side of at least a part of the control portion. An angle, A, between the first and the second longitudinal axes is between 14° and 45°.

Abstract: A bow sight with at least one sight pin mounted to a frame assembly. At least one optical fiber is attached to the sight pin. The optical fiber is exposed to gather ambient light and to transmit light to a sight point located within the frame assembly. The eye alignment assembly includes an optical structure mounted to the frame assembly including a sight point of an optical fiber located near a proximal end of the optical structure and a lens with alignment indicia located at a distal end of the optical structure. An adjustment system permits the optical structure to be reoriented relative to the frame assembly. The eye alignment assembly provides an indication of orientation of the shooter relative to the bow in at least two degrees of freedom.

The upper coils are spaced such that a particular set of closely wound coils indicates a first tool level at ground and a second particular set of closely wound coils indicates a second tool level at ground when the tip of the rod aligns with the second particular set of closely wound coils.

Abstract: A mason ruler consisting of a central profile (27) made of solid wood and other materials, which has its own section in the two long parallel sides (28) and two smaller parallel sides (29). The extremities of the longer sides (28) of the section of profile (27) have recesses (30), which extend along the length of this central profile (27). O each lower side (29) and their two respective adjacent recesses (30), is mounted a letter-shaped profile U (25) preferably composed of aluminum. This ruler has integrated into its body at least one unit tool level (26), which may be a bubble level or any other principle of operation.

Abstract: The “DC LINE WEDGE” Is a Bricklaying and Stone masons tool that is designed to hold a string line in a brick pocket. It consist of two parts, the “Head” which is milled in an angle with a string hole at the center to accept a string line and the “body” to accept the head. The “brick pocket” is the area between the framed wall and the brick molding in which the brick is tucked behind to simulate a finished wall. Insert the DC Line Wedge into the brick pocket horizontally with the head against the brick mold with the body angled slightly towards the end that holds the other side of the string. If it does not stay in place when tension is applied, simply unscrew the head to lengthen the tool until it stays in place when tension is applied.

Abstract: A combined template and ruler for use in quilting is formed from a rigid plastic material and includes a plurality of spaced slots that correspond to cutting and sewing lines that are marked on layers of fabric using the template. The cutting and sewing lines are positioned such that a plurality of half square triangles of two ply material are formed without cutting the thread. A template and method of forming snowball blocks in a similar fashion is also disclosed.

Abstract: A distance measuring device having a frame defining an operating handle. At least one wheel is mounted to the frame. A counter mechanism on the frame has a display and a reset mechanism. An actuating mechanism has components cooperating between the at least one wheel and counter mechanism for causing cumulative distance measurements to be identified on the display as the at least one wheel is rolled against an underlying surface. The counter mechanism has a reset actuator that is moved from a retracted position into an actuated position. The reset actuator has a surface with an engaging area. The distance measuring device further has at least one stop component that defines a blocking surface to arrest movement of a component, having an area that is greater than the engaging area, that is pressed against the surface of the reset actuator to thereby move the reset actuator from the retracted position into the actuated position.

Abstract: In order to be able to deflect a free end of a measuring band of a measuring band sensor not only in a direction transversal to an inlet plane according to the invention the free end of the measuring band 3 arranged outside of the housing is twisted about its longitudinal axis by 90° at the most. This facilitates deflections of a total of 180°. When a deflection within the remaining 180° shall be facilitated, a torsion of the free end of the measuring band also has to be provided by 90°, but in the other direction with respect to the inlet plane.

Abstract: A dew prevention apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a dewing prevention structure for a substrate accommodated in a housing. The housing has an opening allowing an inflow of outer air and the dewing prevention structure is configured to suppress dew condensation on the substrate. The dew prevention structure includes a heat conductive member provided inside the housing wherein the heat conductive member contacts each of a predetermined heat source inside the housing and an area of the substrate near the opening.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a hair dryer with a cyclone blast barrel that discharges airflow farther and faster by means of a helical blast barrel structure, and particularly, to a hair dryer comprising: a first blast barrel and a second blast barrel for discharging air in cyclone form; a heater that generates heat of a predetermined temperature; a fan-motor for rotating a fan to blow air; and a cover for providing an enclosure for securing components and a protection against impacts, wherein the hair dryer strongly discharges air at high speed for the same output of a drive motor, and has the effect of discharging air that is uniform in temperature.

Abstract: A novel collapsible aeration system is retrofitted into a grain bin with a discharge opening in the bottom. This grain bin may have a sloped or conical hopper or a flat bottom. The aeration system is formed from a set of connected (e.g. hinged) duct sections that define a round or multi-sided duct having a minimum of three sides or faces. The sides may be flat, curved or corrugated. The collapsible aeration system is folded (collapsed), inserted into the bin via a hole, and then unfolded inside the bin. An air duct is connected to the aeration system to enable the aeration system to dry the grain in the grain bin. This technology enables existing grain bins to be retrofitted with a dryer in an easy and efficient manner.

Abstract: A liquid extraction assembly for extracting liquid from a mass comprising a housing having an inlet and an outlet. The housing further includes a path between the inlet and the outlet. The housing is configured to have the mass forced into the inlet to move the mass from the inlet to the outlet. The housing includes two substantially parallel rotating screens rotating side by side and apart from one another, with the path extending between the screens. Each screen defines one wall of the path. Each rotating screen includes a plurality of non-circular openings located at the path. Pressure from mass forced into the input presses the mass against the non-circular openings of the rotating screens to thereby force at least a portion of liquid in the mass to pass through the non-circular openings of the rotating screens.

Abstract: A method of priming and drying substrates having high-aspect ratio trenches. In one aspect, the method comprises: a) supporting at least one substrate having high-aspect ratio trenches in a process chamber having a gaseous atmosphere; b) sealing the process chamber; c) vacuuming the process chamber to achieve a first sub-atmospheric pressure within the process chamber; d) introducing a wetting solution into the process chamber while maintaining the process chamber at a second sub-atmospheric pressure until the substrate is immersed in the wetting solution; e) restoring the process chamber to atmospheric pressure while the substrate remains immersed in the wetting solution; and f) removing the substrate from the wetting solution.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a mechanical refrigeration cycle arrangement having a working fluid, an evaporator, a condenser, a compressor, and an expansion device, cooperatively interconnected and containing the working fluid. The apparatus also includes a drum to receive clothes, a duct and fan arrangement configured to pass air over the evaporator, condenser and through the drum, a sensor located to sense parameters, a working fluid accumulator, and a controller coupled to the sensor, accumulator and/or compressor. The controller is operative to control collection of refrigerant during a run cycle when pressure exceeds a predetermined threshold value, control retention of the collected refrigerant when the run cycle is completed, until a subsequent run cycle, control discharge of the retained refrigerant to an evaporator or condenser when the subsequent run cycle is started, and control use of discharged refrigerant to elevate the refrigeration cycle by modifying a start condition of the refrigeration cycle.

Abstract: A drying system for drying a coating applied to an article of manufacture. The drying system includes an enclosable booth having an interior for housing the article of manufacture. The system also includes an air source for blowing air into the booth, means for raising the temperature of the air before entry into the booth, means for lowering the temperature of the air before entry into the booth, means for raising the humidity of the air before entry into the booth, and means for lowering the humidity of the air before entry into the booth. In one embodiment there is included at least one distribution cone which includes a conical member having a plurality of openings formed along the axis thereof. The cones emit air across an article of manufacture within the booth.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a mechanical refrigeration cycle arrangement having a working fluid and an evaporator, a condenser, a compressor, and an expansion device, cooperatively interconnected and containing the working fluid. The apparatus also includes a sensor located to sense at least one parameter, a controller coupled to said sensor and said compressor, a drum to receive clothes to be dried, wherein a rear portion of the drum is equipped with multiple perforations, and a perimeter portion of the drum is equipped with multiple perforations, and a duct and fan arrangement configured to pass air over said condenser and through said drum, wherein the duct and fan arrangement is configured to facilitate airflow through the perforations on the rear portion of the drum into the drum, and out of the drum through the perforations on the perimeter portion of the drum to enable an increased airflow without an increased power input.

Abstract: A fluid-filled chamber may have a barrier, a stacked tensile member, and a fluid. The barrier may be formed from a polymer material that is sealed to define an interior void. The stacked tensile member may be located within the interior void and includes a first tensile element and a second tensile element that are joined to each other. Additionally, opposite sides of the stacked tensile member are joined to the barrier. The fluid is located within the interior void and may be pressurized to place an outward force upon the barrier and induce tension in the stacked tensile member. In some configurations, each of the tensile elements may be a spacer textile.

Abstract: An article of footwear or another product may incorporate a pressure chamber that includes (a) a bladder at least partially formed from a polymer material that is sealed to enclose a pressurized fluid and (b) a strand wound around the bladder and secured to the bladder. In manufacturing the pressure chamber, a bladder with an elongate configuration may be formed. A strand is wound around the bladder, and the strand is secured to the bladder. When incorporated to a sole structure of the article of footwear, for example, a portion of the bladder that includes the strands may be exposed at an outer surface of the sole structure.

Abstract: A magnetically-supported article of footwear that primarily supports a wearer's weight by repulsive magnetic forces from magnets arranged in and around the article's sole. The magnets are arranged between and around the article's insole and outsole and may be attached to pairs of magnetically-conductive plates located down the length of the article's sole. Each plate has two magnets, one with a north pole facing upwards and one with a north pole facing downward. Also disclosed is an independent magnetically-supported sole assembly suitable for attachment to an existing article of footwear's sole so that, when attached, the weight of the wearer of that article is primarily supported by repulsive magnetic forces.

Abstract: A shoe is disclosed for use in playing soccer or other activities. The shoe is designed to offer greater power and protection for a wearer's foot and ankle. The shoe is formed with a flexible outsole and an adjusted straight last. The upper is designed with a wide toebox and short lacing system. The shoe uses a unique cleat system. These features decrease the chances of injury and also give a player, such as a soccer player, enhanced ball control and power. This shoe can be modified for use, for example as a running shoe, or a casual shoe.

An excavator tooth can include a pocket bounded by opposing side walls, with at least one of the side walls having an insert-receiving recess internally formed thereon, whereby the recess receives an insert installed in an adaptor nose.

Abstract: An excavation component is disclosed herein. The excavation component includes a cutter structure carrier and a cutter structure carried by the cutter structure carrier. The excavation component also includes a fastener for securing the cutter structure to the cutter structure carrier. The cutter structure carrier and the cutter structure have an interlocking geometry for transferring shear between the cutter structure carrier and the cutter structure so as to reduce an amount of shear applied to the fastener during excavation operations.

Abstract: An improvement in a steam powered pressing iron, in which steam is supplied by a boiler. The steam collects in a steam chamber inside a body 5, and heats the iron. A lever 8 is depressed by a thumbpad 9 to actuate a steam discharge valve 10. The steam discharge valve 10 discharges the steam to a garment being pressed. The improvement includes a steam trap valve 36. The steam trap valve discharges condensate to a discharge return connector 38, through the return hose to the boiler. The steam trap valve 36 is a thermodynamic steam trap, for preventing the flow of hot steam back to the boiler. But when in contact with cold condensate, the steam trap valve 36 automatically permits the flow of condensate back to the boiler. Cold condensate is automatically purged from the iron without operator intervention.

An information bearing medium is removably positioned inside the envelope. In one embodiment, a sealing member is disposed to create a substantially watertight seal over at least one opening of the envelope. In another aspect, a rolling information display apparatus for use with a roller grill is a cylindrical rolling member having one or more rolling surfaces rolling in contact with heated rolling surfaces of the grill. The cylindrical rolling member also has one or more recessed surfaces bearing information about food items offered for sale on the grill. The recessed surfaces are provided in regions of the rolling member that are of diameter less than regions of the rolling member in which the rolling surfaces are provided.

More specifically, the present invention relates to an LED assembly having improved discernibility from the far distance and near distance and from the front and sides, which is covered with a light-passing unit having a thin-film light-passing part and a thick-film light-passing part such that scattering of light is prevented and in which the light irradiation range is specified by the size of the light-passing unit such that light can penetrate far from the thin-film light-passing part but, even so, glare directly in front of the front surface of the LED is softened and, because the medium in the thick-film light-passing part is thick, some of the light passing through the medium is reflected on the inside and the light can also reach the side surfaces. The present invention also relates to signboards and traffic safety display boards using the LED assembly.

A reel assembly with a spool of an anchor line is positioned in the anchor housing. The spool is rotated by a detachable crank handle to rewind the anchor line into the housing. A hook on a free end of the anchor line allows detachable securing of the anchor housing to the keel of the decoy.

Abstract: Devices, methods, and systems are disclosed for harvesting a member of a marine species while minimizing or preventing contact between the harvester and the marine species. Certain embodiments reduce the opportunity for contact between the harvester and the harvested member by providing mechanical means for removing the harvested member from a spear. The invention method includes, in one case, the steps of impaling the marine species member, removing the member from the impaling device, and securing the removed member in a manner to prevent contact with the harvester during each step of the method.
