  • Publication number: 20120144994
Abstract: A method for rapidly firing a semi-automatic firing unit having a trigger, a receiver and a barrel. The firing unit is placed in a handle so as to enable only reciprocating linear movement along a constrained linear path that is parallel to the barrel. The user grasps the handle and places their trigger finger firmly on a finger rest. In use, the user generates a forward activation force that urges the firing unit forwardly so that the trigger collides with the stabilized finger, stimulating the first round of ammunition in the receiver. A recoil force from the discharging ammunition pushes the firing unit rearwardly so that the trigger separates from the stabilized finger. During the recoil event, the user may apply negative resistance to the translating firing unit which may be varied by the user on-the-fly to proportionally change the firing tempo.

Abstract: A crank device and an adjusting device of a combustion engine. The system adjusts the cylinder pressure of the motor in accordance with the required power. Adjustment of the cylinder pressure takes place by changing the compression ration by means of the adjusting device (19). The adjusting device (19) changes an eccentric wheel (3) through an adjusting wheel (4) to a such position that a connecting rod (2) lifts a piston (1) to a desired distance from the combustion chamber head. The adjusting device measures the volume of the air entering the cylinder and adjust the compression ratio to be appropriate. The adjusting device also takes into account the speed of rotation so that the compression pressure increases or decreases to be appropriate.

Abstract: A filtration apparatus comprises a casing defining an inner cavity with an upper cylindrical portion and a lower hopper portion. An inlet feeds gas and solids into the inner cavity and causes movement of the solids in a downward spiral path in the casing. A solids outlet at a bottom of the lower hopper portion outlets the solids from the casing. A gas outlet exhausts gases from the casing. An annular arrangement of ports in a wall of the casing injects an other gas in the inner cavity. The ports are oriented to guide the other gas into following a partially vertical path into the inner cavity to disrupt the movement of the solids in the downward spiral path to allow a capture of the solid particles by the capturing solids. Abstract: A method of partially imaging a substrate, for example glass, with a print pattern comprising layers of ceramic ink in substantially exact registration. The method relies on a mask ink layer defining the print pattern and differential thermal expulsion of ceramic ink medium during a heat fusing process between the areas outside the print pattern and within the print pattern. This results in pigment and glass frit forming a durable image material adhered to the substrate within the print pattern and non durable material outside the print pattern, enabling its removal outside the print pattern to leave the desired layers of ceramic ink within the print pattern in substantially exact registration.

Abstract: The present invention has been developed to improve the way a payload support platform, such as a mole, is driven between one site and another, particularly when the second site is the interior of a Lift which interfaces with a Pallet Handling System (PHS) of a ship. In a first aspect the invention proposes that the driving means which drives the payload support platform along a rail (10) is also used to move that rail (10) relative to the payload support platform and a support rail (22) so that the position of the rail can be changed during the movement of the payload support platform between one site and another. The payload support platform is lockable to the support rail (22), such that the force which drives the payload support platform along the rail (10) changes to driving the rail (10) relative to the support rail (22).

Abstract: A rail train for supporting multiple sticks of ribbon rail comprises a plurality of rail support cars having a single, centrally positioned rail support stand wherein adjacent rail support cars are supported on shared trucks. End cars include a tunnel for supporting the rails near their ends and one or more rail support arms pivotal at a first end about two axis and supporting a rail guide assembly at a second end for supporting a rail as it is pulled of the rail train. A rail tie-down car utilizes spring-loaded, hydraulically actuated clamp assemblies to clamp individual rails to the tie-down car. Each clamp assembly incorporates at least two clamp members which act opposite one another to prevent the rail secured in place by the clamps from sliding in either longitudinal direction.

Abstract: A center bowl liner provided for use between a center plate of a railroad car and a center bowl surface on a truck bolster. The center bowl liner includes a disc-shaped element having top and bottom surfaces and a central opening for receiving a center pin. A conductive washer is attached to the disc-shaped element, the conductive washer having a profile wherein portions of the conductive washer are exposed at the top and bottom surfaces of the disc-shaped element and create an electrical connection between the railroad car center plate and the center bowl on the truck bolster. The disc-shaped element acts as a load-bearing element supporting the railroad car center plate. The conductive washer, since it may have spring-like properties, will also undertake to bear a limited amount of the load of the railroad car center plate in addition to providing electrical connection between the car and truck.

Abstract: A method of re-circulating washwater used to clean production components for the manufacture of fibrous insulation, e.g. fiberglass is disclosed. The method includes providing a bulk washwater recovery loop to re-circulate washwater used to clean the downstream air components, as well as a separate hoodwall washwater recovery loop to re-circulate hoodwall washwater. Re-circulated hoodwall washwater may be used to clean the forming hood components and for preparation of binder dispersions. In the latter case, the pH of the hoodwall washwater is measured and the binder dispersion may be prepared with 100% hoodwall washwater, 100% makeup water, or a blend of each depending on and in response to the pH measurement.

Abstract: A hybrid film-forming composition is prepared by forming an aqueous mixture including an organofunctional silane, a metal chloride, and an acid, and boiling the mixture. A base is added to the aqueous mixture to substantially neutralize the mixture and to form a hydroxide of the metal. A colloidal suspension including the metal hydroxide and a siloxy compound is formed. A peroxide-based solution is added to the suspension to form a suspension including a peroxide of the metal. The suspension is allowed to equilibrate at room temperature. The suspension is boiled at a pressure greater than atmospheric pressure to form a hybrid film-forming composition including the condensation product of a siloxy compound and a metal peroxide. A coating formed from the hybrid film-forming composition may be hydrophobic or hydrophilic.
