Abstract: The invention has a captive tooless fastener for securing the engine intake air filter. The tooless fastener comprises shaft and associated bodies. The body has two arms oriented about 180 degrees apart. The shaft is threaded through a sealing washer and an aperture in a closed end cap of the air filter. The shaft is expanded so it cannot be removed from the end cap. The body's threaded inner diameter mates with a threaded portion of a central shaft in an air filter housing. The body's arms are rotated to screw the fastener and the shaft of the housing together. When tightened, the sealing washer closes the aperture. To remove the air filter, the fastener is unscrewed from the shaft of the housing and in the shaft floats in the aperture. A person in the field can remove the air filter by inserting fingers under the arms and pulling.

Abstract: In situations where the demand for syngas is intermittent, a fuel processor is operated to provide a high absolute hydrogen and carbon monoxide production, rather than to give a high fuel-specific hydrogen and carbon monoxide production. When a syngas generator is operated to intermittently produce syngas, a heating process can be performed between periods of syngas demand in order to keep the fuel processor within a desired temperature range. The heating process can comprise various steps or events including performing a heating event, allowing a standby period, and/or performing a carbon conversion event. Carbon formed during the process of converting fuel to syngas can be advantageously converted to maintain the temperature of the fuel processor within a desired range in between periods of syngas demand. The PM sensor is disposed at a downstream side of the particulate filter in an exhaust passage. The PM sensor includes a pair of electrodes and detects an amount of the PM based on current passing through the PM deposited between the electrodes. The determining unit determines that the particulate filter is in a failure state when an actual energization timing of the PM sensor based on an output of the PM sensor is earlier than the failure-state energization timing estimated.

Abstract: The invention relates to a feed water degasifier comprising a degasifier (8) with a feed water tank (1) connected thereto, said components being integrated into the water/steam cycle of a solar thermal power station that has a heat transfer medium circuit with an associated water/steam cycle. The aim of the invention is to provide a solution, which in terms of the heating and control process provides a less complex way of supplying the degasifier with heating steam in comparison with prior art. To achieve this, at least one additional evaporator (11), which has a line connection (12) on the water side to the feed water region (5) of the feed water tank (1) and a line connection (13) on the steam side to the steam region (6) of the feed water tank (1), is allocated to the feed water tank (1).

Abstract: A gas turbine combustion system passive air-fuel mixing prechamber includes one or more fuel passages. Each fuel passage includes at least one downstream fuel injection orifice. One or more fluid conduits connect an upstream portion of at least one fuel passage with one or more air passages such that pressure drops across each fuel injection orifice substantially self-equalize in a passive manner with corresponding air passage pressure drops over a broad range of fuel lower heating value (LHV) from about 150 Btu/scf to about 900 Btu/scf of fuel passing through the fuel passage while mixing with air passing through one or more connected fluid conduits. The effective area of each fluid conduit relative to the corresponding fuel and air passages is dependent upon the desired fuel LHV operating range.
