Abstract: In one example, a system for a vehicle travelling on a surface is described. The system includes an engine with a cylinder. The cylinder includes a fuel injector that is supplied with gaseous fuel and liquid fuel by a fuel delivery system. The fuel injector is mounted in the vehicle such that the fuel injector inlet faces at least partially toward the road surface. The orientation of the fuel injector enables a quick transition from liquid fuel to gaseous fuel because the gaseous fuel can rise to the injectors and be preferentially injected. Further, various approaches are described from transitioning operation between gaseous and liquid fuel injection.

Abstract: An abnormality detection device for an exhaust gas recirculation apparatus is provided that can perform abnormality detection with respect to an EGR valve while suppressing the influence of a size relationship between an intake pressure and an exhaust pressure. An ECU (Electronic Control Unit) executes processing for extracting a pulse from an intake pipe pressure value. The ECU executes arithmetic processing for performing Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) with respect to an output waveform of an intake pressure sensor obtained by sampling processing, and also executes extraction processing that extracts a “frequency component corresponding to a period of an exhaust pulse”. The ECU executes processing that determines, in steps, whether or not the size of the extracted pulse (amplitude size) exceeds a threshold value. If the amplitude size exceeds the threshold value, the ECU executes processing that determines that a totally closed abnormality is occurring in the EGR valve.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an arrow shooting device, and more specifically to, a new arrow shooting device and a draw weight adding method, wherein an arrow is shot not by a compound arrow or a compound crossbow, which have been conventionally used, but by a rubber band and a differential motion cam. The arrow shooting device according to the present invention is formed in the straight simple shape, wherein, as shown in FIG. 6, the rubber band having superior elasticity is used rather than a limb in the energy storage method thereof and the retraction speed of the rubber band is converted using a differential motion cam or a differential motion cam so as to be suitable for shooting the arrow. In addition, it is possible to additionally hang the rubber band in the state when drawing is finished, or pull the rubber band by means of a winch, so that even people in general may shoot an arrow with a strong draw weight.

Abstract: A sawing rope (270) with abrasive elements (506) fixed on a steel rope (502) with a polymer jacket (504) is described and claimed. The abrasive elements (506) are made of a metallic sleeve on which an abrasive layer is deposited by means of electrolytic deposition, by means of sintering or by means of cladding for example laser cladding. Characteristic about this sawing rope (270) in view of the prior known sawing ropes is that each sleeve shows a connection or closure. Such a connection makes it possible to attach abrasive elements (506) on the rope without having to thread them on the rope (270) as is needed when making prior-art sawing ropes. The inventive sawing rope (270) can therefore be made in long lengths in a very efficient way.

Abstract: A hair styling apparatus includes a curling component generally proximate to the hair-heating surface and operatively connected to at least one of first and second arms of the apparatus. The curling component has a curling edge selectively movable laterally with respect to a hair-heating surface of the apparatus to configure the curling component between a retracted configuration, in which the curling edge is spaced a retracted lateral distance from a lateral edge of the hair-heating surface, and an extended configuration, in which the curling edge is spaced an extended lateral distance, greater than the retracted lateral distance, from the lateral edge of the hair-heating surface.

Abstract: The helical hair tie is a spiraling hair tie that is designed to hold a small braid of hair. The helical hair tie features a plurality of teeth along an interior surface that employs a frictional force to stabilize the helical hair tie onto hair. The helical hair tie is installed upon rotation of the hair tie along a small braid of hair. The helical hair tie is made of a highly flexible material that has a memory such that upon straightening and subsequent release, the helical hair tie restores the helical shape.

Abstract: The application describes several methods and an apparatus for treatment of at least partial areas of a substrate. In said methods, at least one liquid is applied to at least one partial area of the substrate and electromagnetic radiation is introduced into this liquid, in order to achieve a desired effect in accordance with the respective method. In one method, radicals are generated in the liquid by means of UV radiation prior to application of the liquid, wherein generation of the radicals occurs directly before applying the liquid to the substrate, such that at least a portion of the radicals reaches the substrate.

Abstract: A plurality of reagent dispensing tips (15) are inserted through frustoconical openings (28) in a cover (16) of a cleaning chamber in the form of intersecting axial bores (14) and sprayed with wash fluid from spray passages (34) in the peripheral wall (20) of the cover (16). Wash fluid from the spray passages (34) and flowing through the reagent dispensing tips (15), if hollow, can be drained from the cleaning chamber through a drain port (42). Abstract: The invention monitors the neutralization process involving hydrogen peroxide solution and a hydrogen peroxide neutralization catalyst and compares measured values with theoretical values. The system monitors the chemical reaction and notifies the user of the neutralization status. In an exemplary embodiment, the initial hydrogen peroxide solution concentration is neutralized with a palladium catalyst after a period of time. A microcontroller analyzes the measurements and displays the neutralization process results using colored LED lights and/or text or images on a LCD display. In one embodiment, an apparatus adapted for use with a cleaning solution used to clean a medical device may include a trigger, a processing device in communication with the trigger, and a display device. The processing device provides a trigger count and the display device communicates with the processing device and displays a message based on the count.
