Abstract: A wetsuit for aquatic activities is disclosed below. The wetsuit includes a base layer and a backing layer. The base layer may be formed from a thermal insulation material, for example, and the base layer has a first surface and an opposite second surface. The backing layer is secured to the first surface of the base layer, and the backing layer has less stretch than the base layer. In addition, the wetsuit includes a plurality of sipes extending through at least the backing layer.

Abstract: A protective garment for a human forearm. The protective garment includes a main body portion having opposing first and second longitudinal ends. There is an interior surface that faces the forearm and an exterior surface that faces away from the forearm. The main body portion includes an expandable wrist band coupled to the first longitudinal end of the main body portion. The exterior surface includes a second plurality of raised portions that is configured to dissipate heat transferred from a heated surface contacting the exterior surface.

Abstract: A disposable bib having a flexible bib body to cover at least a portion of the user's torso, wherein the bib body has a torso side and an outward side; at least one fastener attached to the bib to attach the bib to the user; an absorbent wipe fixably attached to the outward side of the bib body where the wipe is spread approximately flat and is ready to use; and a releasable cover sealingly attached to the body of the bib on the border that fully covers the wipe; wherein the cover fully encloses and seals the wipe; wherein the cover can be partially or fully removed from the bib body by pulling down, thereby exposing the wipe, and wherein the wipe can be manipulated while attached to the bib body to clean the user.

Abstract: A wearable garment includes a tube of material to cover a torso of the wearer, and a band in the shape of a loop. When unshaped, the tube has a substantially uniform diameter along a length thereof. To shape the garment, the band is removably connected to the tube at first and second points, which are spaced apart on same edge of the tube. The first and second points are gathered handfuls of the material along the same edge of the tube, and are directly and releasably connected to each other and secured by the band in the shaped position to define an opening along the edge of the tube. The tube returns to the unshaped position when the band is removed and the first and second points are disconnected from each other.

Abstract: An extender for an infant bodysuit is provided that can extend the usable life of an infant bodysuit that is too small for a particular infant. The extender includes two pieces; a front piece which is adapted to be attached to the front side of the infant bodysuit, and a back piece which is adapted to be attached to the back side of the infant bodysuit. Each piece further includes a fastening end which may include one or more buttons. The fastening end of the front piece may be fastened to the fastening end of the back piece so that the extender is secure between the crotch of the infant. To change the infant's diaper, a person can unfasten the front piece from the second piece at which point the diaper is accessible.

Abstract: A convertible article of clothing with a compartmented hood section adapted to accept the entire garment therein and provide a carrying pouch for a user. The article comprises a hooded garment, such as a sweatshirt or jacket, wherein the hood acts as a head covering and a convertible pouch with zipper closure. The hood comprises an internal lining which is not visible when in a closed position, and is operably accessed via a vertical zipper closure. When in an open position, the lining is exposed and the hood may be turned inside out to allow the entire garment to fold into the lining. The condensed garment then becomes a satchel, which allows improved storage or transport. The lining is optionally water and stain resistant to offer a level of protection for the garment when in a stowed position.

Abstract: An adjustment mechanism for the hood of a garment is described along with a method of use. The hood is tightened or loosened via pockets located on the torso of the garment. One specific embodiment is a rainwear jacket that includes two front facing pockets located on the chest of the wearer which conceal the endings of a hood cord and, by opening the pockets, the cords may be reversibly tightened and concealed by closing the pockets. The mechanism avoids use of loose toggles or other items that may catch on other objects. The cords are also positioned in a way that allows for easy and wearer visible adjustment.

Abstract: Fiber blends useful for garments with a balance of high thermal, abrasion resistance, and moisture management properties are disclosed. The fiber blends comprise a hydrophobic fiber component, a hydrophilic fiber component, a structural fiber component, and an optional antistatic fiber. Yarns, fabrics, and garments comprising the fiber blends are also disclosed. Such garments are particularly useful for occupations requiring high thermal properties and abrasion resistance, such as fire fighters, utility workers, and military personnel, without compromising comfort of the wearers by maintaining breathability and moisture management properties of the fabric.

Abstract: A mobility limiting system is provided which maintains the position of an individual or object. This device comprises a pad attached to a support surface and a vest worn by an individual or affixed to an object. The pad front and vest back are comprised of hook and loop material which bind to each other and secure the individual or object in place. The pad is secured to a support surface using straps. The vest closed with hook and loop will hold in a semi-fixed position until a purposeful movement releases the hold. The device uses an adhesive material to attach the individual or object to a stationary object thus limiting the mobility while maintaining it orientation. The device may also use tabs in place of the vest front panels which fold over the shoulders and around the torso to secure the individual or object similar to a vest.

Abstract: Golf accessories that are attachable to pieces of clothing (e.g., golf gloves) and that may be attached to magnetic elements affixed on objects are disclosed. A golf accessory can include two button halves, each providing a magnetic force, wherein the button halves can be attached on either ends of a piece of clothing. A golf accessory can include a clip with two magnetic holders attached on the extended portion of each arm and the clip can then be attached to a piece of clothing. A golf accessory can also be a button that is affixed to a piece of clothing. A golf accessory can further be a therapeutic bracelet embedded into an athletic glove. Additionally, a magnetic hanger can be provided to attach to the clip, button, removable button, or therapeutic bracelet.

Abstract: A feminized baseball cap may include a cap having a crown that may be worn on a user's head, the cap having a front and a rear as well as a circumference. A band may be placed around the circumference of the cap. A band also may be placed across an extending visor at a lower portion of the crown covering a seam where the extending visor and the crown meet. At least one feather may be included on the cap, and a brooch-like component may be affixed to the at least one feather.

Abstract: A garment with one or more personalizable panels and various related embodiments are disclosed. The garment, to be worn about the lower torso and legs, comprises: a waist encircling portion, a first leg encircling portion, and a second leg encircling portion, in which the waist encircling portion may comprise both an adjustable waistband and a non-adjustable waistband portion, and a personalizable panel for displaying one or more personal communications. The disclosed embodiments feature a variety of personalizable panels constructed in a variety of ways and attached to the garment in a variety of ways. Features of the disclosure allow for the attachment of the personalizable panel in such a way as to not interfere with the operation of the adjustable waistband portion. Other features of the disclosure allow the personalizable panel to maintain its shape despite the expansion and contraction of the adjustable waistband portion.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate generally to body gear having designed performance characteristics, and in particular to methods and apparatuses that utilize an array of heat managing elements coupled to a base material to direct body heat while also maintaining the desired transfer properties of the base material. In some embodiments, the heat managing material elements include heat management elements that reflect heat or conduct heat, and may be directed towards the body of a user or away from the body of the user.

Abstract: An interchangeable adornment for a fashion article has a base and a first attachment element coupled to the base for detachably attaching the base to arbitrary location on the surface of the fashion article and in an arbitrary rotational orientation relative to the surface without penetrating the surface. A first ornament is coupled to the base and a second ornament is detachably coupled to the first ornament by way of a fastener. The first ornament may be mounted on a stem which projects from the base such that at least a portion of the stem passes through a portion of the first ornament which is located between the base and a retainer which extends radially outwardly from the stem.

Abstract: An insert for packaging a shirt can be designed to provide one or more instant collar stays. The insert includes an insert member that is used for packaging the shirt. The insert member can be provided with one or more detachable regions, and each said detachable region can be in a shape of a strip that is adapted to be used as a collar stay in the shirt.

Abstract: A headwear and eyewear retention device that allows a hat or other headwear to be retained in proximity to the user as well as allowing a pair of sunglasses or other eyewear to be retained in proximity to the user is disclosed. Either, or both, of the headwear or eyewear can be removed and they will hang from the retention device and remain in proximity to the user without the user having to hold either in the user's hands. The retention device comprises a strap with an eyewear attachment component at either end and a headwear attachment component located generally in the center of the strap. The eyewear attachments allow the strap to be removably connected to eyewear while the headwear attachment allows removable connection between the device and headwear.

Abstract: An improved, substantially elongated gusset and/or crotch panel, incorporated into garments for humans' lower bodies. This novel, uniquely shaped, and scaled gusset significantly enhances wearers' comfort by eliminating seams, material transitions, stitching, and other mechanisms or methods of attachment from within the boundaries of a defined protected region, which coincides with the wearer's sensitive genital area. The gusset is preferably constructed from at least one layer of material, and may feature additional layers. In preferred embodiments, the elongated gusset and/or crotch panel is incorporated into girl/boy short-style undergarments, bikini-style undergarments, thong-style undergarments, pajama-bottom style garments, and other lower-body garments.

Abstract: A protective head cover liner is comprised of a substantially oval shock-absorbing material such as rubber or the like adapted to absorb impact and sized and shaped to conform to a user's head and the inside of a head cover, such as a hat or cap. The protective head cover liner includes reliefs such as slits or the absence of material to form a concave shape approximating that of the intended user's head. The protective head cover liner may include ventilation slots and may comprise a pocket encapsulating a liquid or gel to aid in absorbing impact. The encapsulated material may be chosen to possess a high specific heat allowing the protective head cover liner to be chilled prior to use to aid in the dissipation of heat from the intended user's head over an extended period.

Abstract: A helmet includes a frame component and a detachable, replaceable head-protection component. The frame component includes a facemask and a chin strap attachment. The head-protection component is attached to the frame component by mating respective connectors disposed on each component. Upon an impact, the damaged head-protection component may be removed and replaced with a new replacement head-protection component.

Abstract: A drain closure device for a vessel such as a bathtub or sink is provided. The drain closure device comprises a stopper fitted with a sealing gasket and threaded onto a stem slidably mounted in a guide member which is in turn threaded into a strainer mounted in a hole in the bottom of the vessel. The device is concentrically disposed within the strainer. Twirling of the stopper causes the stem to rise and fall against an undulating cam surface of the guide. Resistance to closure is provided by rest stops for projections on the upper part of the stem. No spring, pins, or resistance seals are used. Once in place, the drain closure nests in the strainer.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for reducing odor from a toilet bowl having an air cushion bladder seat with an orifice for passing air out of and into the bladder as a person sits down and rises from the air cushion bladder seat which is coupled to operate a switching valve. The switching valve has a first tube that connects the area above the water in the bowl to a second tube coupled to a gas/vapor moving means and disconnects a third tube that connects the toilet trap from the second tube as a person sits down on the air cushion bladder seat. The gas/vapor moving means is coupled to the second tube which to feed the gas/vapor to a fuel/air mixer of a combustion chamber for burning the gas/vapor with the fuel.

Abstract: A spray nozzle system for a bidet includes a nozzle casing and a rotating member within the nozzle casing. The rotation of the rotating member changes a water output pattern of the nozzle. A first inlet pipe to the nozzle casing is positioned to cause the rotating member to rotate upon receiving fluid flow. A second inlet pipe to the nozzle casing is positioned to suppress rotation of the rotating member upon receiving fluid flow. A controller is configured to vary the relative fluid flow provided to the first inlet pipe and the second inlet pipe, thereby controllably varying the water output pattern of the nozzle.

Abstract: An apparatus, system and method for transporting a potty seat. The apparatus can include a container, the container including a first end having an opening defined therein, a second end disposed opposite the opening, a sidewall extending between the first end and the second end, and defining an interior cavity enclosed by the first end, the second end, and the sidewall, an interior surface, an exterior surface, and an internal flap disposed within the cavity and having a first end coupled to and extending away from the second end of the container, the internal flap being adapted to be detachably coupled to a portion of a potty seat.

Abstract: The invention disrupts the paradigm of the side entrance within the field of saunas, steam rooms and therapeutic chambers. The invention reorients the entrance from a door in the side of a therapeutic chamber, as is the situation in the prior art, and places the point of ingress and egress to the bottom or floor of the chamber. Without a side entry door, much less heat is lost when individuals enter and exit the chamber. Furthermore, this invention creates the opportunity for 360 degree seating in steam rooms and saunas, which is exemplified in the embodiment of the prototype named Steam Egg, which is a ten and a half foot tall freestanding egg shaped, mirror covered, steam room that is entered through a hole in the bottom, hovering 33.5 inches off the ground stabilized on three steel legs.

Abstract: An emergency eyewash unit includes a pair of water discharge ports oriented to produce a pair of upwardly directed, diverging water streams for inside-out flush flow of contaminants from a person's eyes. These eyewash streams can be combined with a plurality of smaller upwardly directed facewash streams for flushing contaminants from a person's face. The eyewash and/or facewash streams are produced by an eyewash body adapted for rotatable mounting onto a water supply conduit, with a locking clip normally preventing undesired rotational disassembly. The eyewash body may be used in combination with an overhead emergency shower which, in one preferred form, includes a shower spray head carrying multiple flow control and flow shaper elements to produce a substantially uniformly dispersed shower spray pattern.

Abstract: A portable hand washing station is provided. The station has a durable carrying case which defines an interior hand washing compartment. The front wall is adapted to include a door to permit hand access into the interior of the hand washing compartment. A lid is connected to the case so that the lid is capable of extending in an upright vertical position. A shelf is connected to the interior surface of the lid. The shelf has a pair of spaced apart valve openings. A pair of liquid dispensing reservoirs is supported on the shelf. Each of the reservoirs includes a top wall with a mouth opening, a bottom wall with a drain opening, and a touch operated flow valve connected to the bottom wall in liquid communication to the bottom wall. The flow valves are adapted to extend in axial alignment a one of the valve openings so that a cleaning or rinsing solution is dispensed into the compartment when the flow valves are deflected by hand.

Abstract: A cable overload device for a cable-actuated drain system having a drain valve assembly and a drain control assembly where the cable includes a driving end connected to the control assembly and a driven end. The overload device includes a plunger, a linking member, a sleeve, and an energy absorber. The plunger is configured to be coupled to the driven end of the cable. The linking member is configured to move the drain valve assembly between open and closed positions. The sleeve includes a bore that extends from a first side to a second side of the sleeve, wherein the bore is configured to receive the plunger through the first side and to receive the linking member through the second side. The energy absorber is provided in the bore between the plunger and the linking member to absorb a force imposed into the linking member from the drain valve assembly.

Abstract: A trim kit for providing improved aesthetics to a bathroom fixture having a first side and a second side with a housing of a device coupled to the first side. The trim kit includes a mounting plate configured to be coupled to the device on the second side of the fixture, and an escutcheon having an interior surface and an exterior surface. The exterior surface is configured to provide a decorative aesthetic for the trim kit. The mounting plate includes a plurality of tabs. The interior surface of the escutcheon includes a plurality of catches that are each configured to engage with a corresponding catch to allow the escutcheon to be detachably coupled to the mounting plate.

Abstract: A drain control assembly including a receiving member having a bore and a receiving portion for selectively receiving a first actuator or a second actuator. The drain control assembly also includes a moveable member configured to move between a first position and a second position within the bore of the receiving member to cause a cable to open or close a drain valve assembly. The first actuator comprises a first body portion and is configured to move the moveable member in response to linear movement of the first body portion, and the second actuator includes a second body portion and is configured to move the moveable member in response to rotational movement of the second body portion.

Folding the mat top side (the side was exercised on) together first then roll up the mat prevents top side getting in contact with the bottom side and pick up unwanted/unsanitary items from floor surface. The guideline indicates where to align bottom edge with when folding the mat and the grommet with string provides a convenient mean to fasten the mat when rolled up.

Abstract: A cover 10 for keeping an air assisted patient transfer mattress sanitary is disclosed. The cover includes generally a top panel 12 connected to a bottom panel 14. The cover 10 includes at least one opening 24 to allow a mattress, such as an air assisted patient transfer mattress to be inserted and removed. The bottom panel 14 includes air passing means to pass air through from an air assisted patient transfer mattress onto a supporting surface.

Abstract: A therapeutic sleep aid comprises a pillow covering made of fabric infused with a concentration of one or more specially formulated medications set to release inhalant vapors to a user gradually over time to promote safe sleep and relieve respiratory ailments and breathing difficulties that otherwise inhibit restful sleep. Made in a substantially rectangular configuration conforming to the shape of a standard sleeping pillow, the pillow covering is sized to fit about and across the pillow surfaces with openings at one or both ends for placement upon the pillow and is preferably intended for use beneath a standard pillow case. Release of the inhalant vapors may be activated by exposure to normal ambient conditions at the time of placement of the pillow covering or through a physical manipulation by the user.

Abstract: A mattress with built-in massage capabilities that is arranged so the mattress can be used as a standard sleep surface when the massage function is idle. In standard sleep mode a user will not notice the massage aspects of the mattress. Massage is performed by air pumps and air bags controlled to simulate various massage protocols such as wave, stretching, kneading, and percussion.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for coupling and decoupling an air supply hose to an inflatable device. The inflatable device may be adapted to support a patient, such as an air mattress or an inflatable patient transfer mat that rides on an air cushion. The method and apparatus utilize an air inlet that normally assumes a flat orientation. The air inlet includes resilient members that allow the air inlet to flex out of the flat orientation in response to a compressive force. The compressive force changes the air inlet's orientation into a generally round orientation that is sized to accept an air supply hose. A collar on the air supply hose is able to frictionally engage an edge in the air inlet in order to prevent undesired removal of the hose from the inlet. Magnets may be used to help return the inlet to the flat orientation when not in use.

Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a device, kit, and related method for an adhesive film for application to the sole of a shoe. More specifically, the film is easily attached to the shoe sole so that a user may decorate their shoe soles and continuously change the appearance of the soles of a single pair of shoes instead of purchasing multiple shoes of a variety of styles. It also serves as a shoe sole protector, as it covers the original sole protecting it from wear and abrasion. A cutting device to trim the film to size without trimming the shoe material is also contemplated.

The ramp is wedge shaped and comprises a folded bottom member affixed to a pre-formed top member having integrally formed guide rails. Abstract: An applicator for use in cleaning surfaces, comprising: a bottom surface; a handle disposed above the bottom surface; means for releasably attaching a pad to the bottom surface; and an actuator, accessible from the handle, for actuating the means for releasably attaching the pad to the bottom surface. The means for releasably attaching preferably has a plurality of feet which move between a first position within the applicator to a second position outside the applicator. When the feet are in the second position they can contact a cleaning pad. When the feet are moved to the first position, they release the pad, allowing for the disposal thereof without having to touch the soiled pad.
