Abstract: A leak prevention device and method of use to prevent leakage and sinkage of ships that have collided with immobile objects comprising at least two inflatable cylindrical bodies that have cables attached to each of its ends. The cylinders are lowered over one side of a ship or delivered by rescue vessels and then manipulated by the cables or guide wires, one past the stern of the ship and the other past the bow of the ship so that the lines are on the opposite side of the ship, so that guide-wires pass under the hull of the ship and surround the object of the collision fully on one side. The process is repeated on the opposite side of the ship so that the two cylindrical structures crisscross. The cables are then tensioned and inflated with compressed air forming a tight seal between the hull and the point of collision.

Magnetic particles are suspended in the magnetorheological fluid, and the magnetic flux passes through the magnetic part. The controller continues supplying the electricity to the coil while the brake rotor has a half rotation from a stop state where the brake rotor is stopped at a startup time at which the brake rotor starts rotating.

When the engine is started in response to a driver's start intention, any mode of an engagement mode in which the actuator causes the pinion gear to engage with the ring gear before the motor is driven and a rotation mode in which the motor is driven before the actuator is driven is selected. When the engine is started not in response to a driver's start intention, the engagement mode is selected.

Abstract: A machined shape of a bore is based on the deformation amount of a data-acquisition bore after fastening of cylinder head. A cross section of an approximate shape is set to be an approximately-true circle shape, and a diameter of the approximately-true circle shape is changed along a central axial direction in accordance with the deformation amount of the data-acquisition bore, to determine the approximate shape. The approximate shape has a cross section having the approximately-true circle shape and has a simple shape which is symmetrical about the central axis. Since the machined shape of the bore is the shape obtained by reversing a phase of a recess and a projection of the approximate shape about a predetermined cylindrical shape, the machined shape has a cross section having the approximately-true circle shape and has a simple shape which is symmetrical about the central axis.
