Abstract: The invention relates to a leg pad for a hockey player. The leg pad extends along a longitudinal axis and comprises an upper portion, a lower portion and a band. The upper portion has a knee cap for covering a knee joint of the player. The lower portion has an upper shell for covering a substantial part of a shin of the hockey player and a lower shell for at least partially covering the shin and ankle of the hockey player. The band extends along part of a periphery of the upper shell and part of a periphery of the lower shell. The band interconnects the upper shell and the lower shell to one another wherein the lower shell is movable relative to the upper shell between a first position and a second position in response to flexion of the ankle.

This hidden inner layer bears an extra security feature as it hides the jewelry on a layer under the exposed outer layer or layers where people would not think to look.

Abstract: The invention provides a generally X-shaped utility garment comprising two main straps that form an ‘X-shape’ on a wearer's back and a cross-strap above the X shape to stabilize the garment on the wearer's body. The garment, referred to herein as a strapvest, provides a plurality of pockets and/or receptacles for carrying items the wearer needs to access easily. Its receptacles can be detachable, and a user can select which receptacles to have on the strapvest according to the wearer's immediate needs. It can be adjustable in size to fit a wide range of wearers, and can be adapted to carry many different types of items that are needed for work or recreation, by a combination of built-in pockets and other built-in carriers and optional modular receptacles that can be detachably mounted on the straps of the strapvest.

The membrane may be in the form of a hood or curtain that may be held, supported, or suspended around the user's face. The hood or curtain may be held in position by a set of supporting elements. The hood or supporting elements may be supported by a headgear system such as a headband, hat, or visor. By extending the flexible membrane, the user can enjoy privacy from light, sounds, or other sensory distractions allowing them to sleep or rest in a public, or quasi-public environment such as an airplane, train, park, beach, subway, or waiting room. The personal privacy system may fold up, roll up, or otherwise deform into a compressed geometry that is discrete and lightweight.

Abstract: Provided is a helmet suspension system which is configured to mitigate rapid movements, i.e., acceleration and deceleration, of a user's head. The helmet suspension system connects to a base and a helmet worn by a wearer and allows for slow, safe movements of the helmet relative to the base, but restricts rapid and generally unsafe movements of the helmet relative to the base.

Abstract: An augmented-reality helmet comprises a full-face motorcycle helmet with a look-down micro-display that projects a virtual image in-line with the helmet's chin bar. In order to accommodate the power requirements, the helmet includes a battery pack mounted at the base of the motorcyclist's skull. A wind turbine charges the batteries. Exhaust from the turbine is then deducted through the helmet to cool the battery pack and/or the motorcyclist's head. The turbine is controllable so that it can operate as a circulating fan to provide ventilation. A digital gyroscope provides a control input to a controller for operating a steerable headlight of the motorcycle to track the rider's head movements; and provides acceleration output to an algorithm that will contact emergency responders if the rider is non-responsive after a collision. A 170 degree rear-view camera is mounted within an aerodynamic fairing on the back of the helmet.

The top end of the sleeve extends a riser distance above the base member so as to form an annular trap around the sleeve. The apparatus further comprises a top support extending substantially radially outwardly from the top end of the sleeve having openings around a periphery thereof so as to permit water introduced to a top surface of the base member to drain into the trap and a plurality of apertures extending through the sleeve proximate to the top support so as to drain water retained in the trap into the drain pipe for the toilet.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a grey water flush system for use with vacuum toilets. One embodiment of the system provides a two-stage flush that uses a transient tank in between the toilet bowl and the main aircraft waste tank, which reduces the noise level associated with the flush process because a lesser vacuum is demanded for the first stage of the flush. Embodiments of the system further capture grey water from a sink basin in a reservoir and use that water in the toilet flush process. There is further provided a lavatory odor removal system option that is activated during the second stage of the flush.

The disposable bucket is designed to be used with the Privacy Jacket (U.S. Patent No. 61/518,982) by attaching inside the back-inner portion of the garment. It can also be used with The Shower Jacket (U.S. Pat No. 61/518,983). A U-shaped lifting plate is hinged attached onto the front of base and a sliding center section to cover waste receptacle opening is powered by direct current electric motors. Abstract: Sleeves for immobilizing and compressing one or more limbs of a patient are described. Sleeve embodiments can be rapidly applied to a wounded limb, and will limit bleeding from the limb as well as rapidly immobilizing the limb in a manner appropriate for transporting the patient. A stretcher equipped with multiple sleeves for full-body immobilization and to control bleeding in situations of multiple traumas is described. A method for controlling bleeding from a pelvic wound is also presented.

Abstract: A system and method that utilizes modular components to form a customizable brush for different applications with ease and at a low cost. The system and method utilizes three main components: a base, a plurality of rails, and a plurality of strip brush elements. The plurality of rails is fastened to the base and the plurality of rails holds the strip brush elements to the base to form a brush. All three components may be made of a thermoplastic or thermoset, non-metallic material which can be either rigid or flexible to allow the resulting brush to be easily recyclable.
