Abstract: Fasteners are generally described. In some examples, a fastener may include at least one latch. The at least one latch may include an arcuate portion and a linking portion. The arcuate portion may be connected by the linking portion to a pivot point. The pivot point may be located with respect to the first member so that, as the linking portion pivots around the pivot point, the arcuate portion moves along an arcuate path between a non-fastening position and a fastening position. In the fastening position the arcuate portion may extend beyond the first member to engage with the second member to secure it to the first member.

Abstract: In a method for manufacturing a rotor in which a plurality of cleaved magnet pieces are mounted in a rotor core with cleaved surfaces of the cleaved magnet pieces in an engaged state. In a cleaving step, a magnet workpiece having a recess in a surface thereof is cleaved at the recess as a starting point, thereby producing a first magnet piece and a second magnet piece. In a surface processing step, the cleaved surface is processed to reduce protrusions on the cleaved surface of the first magnet piece. Accordingly, the engagement between the cleaved surfaces is poor, the contact area is reduced, and the contact resistance is increased. As a result thereof, the eddy currents in the cut magnets flow less easily, and loss caused by eddy currents may be decreased.

Thereby, an attachment arrangement is achieved that facilitates changing of bars when the nut used in the attachment arrangement is captively arranged to the cover portion.

Abstract: A tape measure has multiple functions, including the ability to draw arcs or circles having a specific radius, the ability to draw a straight line a certain distance away from an edge, and the ability to score an item, such as sheet metal. The size of the arcs or circles or the distance from the edge to the straight line is only limited to the length of the tape measure. The tape measure continues to retain its primary function of measuring distances. The tape measure can further include an integrated chalk line. The multiple functions can be provided in a tape measure having the features incorporated at the time of manufacture, or the multiple functions can be added to an existing tape measure.

Abstract: The present application provides for feeler gauges. The feeler gauges include a plurality of elongate measuring leaves rotatably coupled on a common axis of rotation with an elongate housing. The leaves may be manually, selectively rotatable between a “home” position wherein the leaves are substantially aligned with the housing and an “extended” position wherein the leaves are spaced from the housing. The leaves may be relatively flexible and substantially flat such that they define a substantially constant thickness. One or more extended leaves may be used to measure the thickness of a clearance or gap. The gauges may be configured to detect, determine or measure the thickness of the leaves that are in the “home” position and/or the “extended” position, and thereby determine the total thickness of a clearance or gap measured by the extended leaves.

Abstract: A measuring tool is formed from a malleable flexible bendable non-resilient material as an elongated planar strip. The planar tool has measuring indicia formed on at least one of the tool's planar surfaces. When the tool is placed in contact with an object, it can be bent to conform to the contact surface of the object. The tool retains the conformed shape for any desired period of time without returning to its normal planar configuration, thus allowing the user to trace the object or record measurements of the object.
