Abstract: A base component and a plurality of plant support components interconnect in various combinations to form an organically configured, size adjustable plant support structure for a growing plant. The base component with spaced root-like stakes planted in the soil supports multiple components each having a central vertical trunk-like structure and extending limb-like and branch-like supports forming a tree-like configuration. Ties of various length soft fabric strips attach a growing plant to a molded exterior configured and colored to resemble tree bark for high friction to securely support the plant and plant produce.

Abstract: Nanoparticles (NPs) may be used to transform the energy of harmful or less useful wavelengths into beneficial and more useful wavelengths of light for a multitude of purposes including, for example, promotion of photosynthesis, enhancing germination timing, enhancing bloom timing. In one embodiment, a greenhouse structure may include nanoparticles embedded in a glass or plastic panel, or may include nanoparticles disposed on a surface of such a panel, to alter the wavelength of available light to a desired wavelength in order to alter an event associated with plant life contained within the greenhouse structure. In another embodiment, nanoparticles may be applied directly to a part of a plant structure (e.g., leaves, stems, etc.) to alter a characteristic of light before receipt of the light by the plant.

Abstract: A shoot of a plant is cultivated under the presence of glutathione, so that the shoot is rooted. It is possible to cultivate the shoot under the presence of glutathione by use of a rooting medium including glutathione or by contacting a solution including glutathione with the shoot. Oxidized glutathione is preferably used as glutathione. By promoting rooting of the shoot of the plant, a rooting rate of the shoot of the plant is improved. This improves productivity of a clone seedling.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of clonally propagating crop plant material in a hydroponic environment. The methods are useful for evaluating transgenic crop plants following transformation or expanding the number of genetically identical plants and seed generated therefrom. The methods comprise removing a part from a crop plant, such as a shoot or stem, and placing it in a hydroponic medium sufficient to support the development of one or more roots in the hydroponic medium. The new plant can then be grown under suitable conditions into a mature crop plant.

Abstract: A method and system for continuous automated growing of plants utilizes production lines each comprising a number of growth sections, each growth section comprising multiple horizontal transport levels, each level of each section having a source of light and liquid nutrient, and plant growing trays which move horizontally into, along and out of each transport level; whereby each subsequent growth section has a greater length than the previous section to receive a greater number of growing trays than the previous section so that as plants grow, the number of plants per growing tray is decreased but the number of plants per growth section remains constant. A group of plants is thereby broken out into an ever greater number of trays as it proceeds through the growing sections from germination to harvest, with the ability to simultaneously start the growth cycle for additional crops.

Abstract: Methods of laser cutting polycrystalline diamond tables and polycrystalline diamond compacts are disclosed. Laser cutting of the polycrystalline diamond table provides an alternative to electrical-discharge machining (“EDM”), grinding with a diamond wheel, or lapping with a diamond wheel. Grinding or lapping with a diamond wheel is relatively slow and expensive, as diamond is used to remove a diamond material. EDM cutting of the polycrystalline diamond table is sometimes impractical or even impossible, particularly when the cobalt or other infiltrant or catalyst concentration within the polycrystalline diamond table is very low (e.g., in the case of a leached polycrystalline diamond table). As such, laser cutting provides a valuable alternative machining method that may be employed in various processes such as laser scribing, laser ablation, and laser lapping.

The joints are configured to enable relative rotation of up to 3 degrees (i.e. clockwise or anticlockwise) while maintaining engagement of the joints. The joints Jm and Jf are further configured to form two locking planes, one on each of the inner and outer most sides of the joint. Engagement about the locking planes is provided by transverse outward extending surfaces Cm1, Cm2, Cf1 and Cf2. The surface Cf1 and Cf2 overhang the surfaces Cm1 and Cm2. At least one surface in each pair of engaging surfaces: Cf1 and Cm1; and, Cf2 and Cm2 is smoothly curved. The joints Jm and Jf can be further arranged to provide a third locking plane parallel to and between the locking planes.

An arrangement of two clamping halves (9000) each having a clamping surface (9001) and a locating component (9070) interlocking the two halves. Each of the two clamping surfaces are brought together by movement of the locating component through a range of positions, preferably lengthwise, such that portions of them are urged apart thus pressing together the clamping surfaces and securing the panel. In addition the first and second clamp halves include each an opening for a fastener (7014) within a flange (7010, 7012) such that the second opening is oriented approximately perpendicular to the first opening.
