Abstract: The present invention relates to a Lactuca sativa seed designated 81-52 RZ, which exhibits a combination of traits including resistance against downy mildew (Bremia lactucae Regel) races B1:1 to B1:17, B1:21, B1:23 and CA-I to CA-VIII, currant-lettuce aphid (Nasonovia ribignisi) biotype Nr:0, corky root (Sphingomonas suberifaciens) race CAI, root aphids (Pemphigus bursarius) and Lettuce Mosaic Virus (LMV), as well as very slow bolting. The present invention also relates to a Lactuca sativa plant produced by growing the 81-52 RZ seed. The invention further relates to methods for producing the lettuce cultivar, represented by lettuce variety 81-52 RZ.

Abstract: There is provided a disposable animal litter container comprising a single foldable blank of material. The foldable blank of material comprises a base portion, a pair of end portions, a pair of side portions, a lid portion on each side portion, and may also include a handle portion on each lid portion. The litter container is easily constructed by a completing a series of folds and by the use of integral adhesive strips. After use, the litter container is easily sealed and transported for disposal.

Abstract: An elevated pet bed device elevates a pet bed level with an existing mattress to allow a pet to sleep adjacent to an owner without taking space on the owner's mattress. The device includes a frame having a base section and a top section. The top section is extendable away from the base section. A pet bed is positionable on the top section of the frame wherein the frame is configured for supporting the pet bed in an elevated position over a support surface upon which the base section rests.

Abstract: A food and water bowl assembly is provided with a removable insert that can be chilled and used to maintain freshness of food and water placed within the bowl interior. The bowl assembly comprises an outer bowl, a removable insert that nests within the bowl interior, and a lid. The insert comprises a base with upstanding sidewalls, whereby the interior of the insert or the material of the insert is freezable within a conventional freezer. Along the interior of the insert is an upstanding post, which prevents over consumption by a pet, and furthermore supports a temperature indicator. The temperature indicator marks the exact or relative temperature of the insert interior for a user to gauge the freshness of the bowl assembly contents. The insert may comprise a freezable medium within its base, upstanding post, or sidewalls, whereby the medium freezes and chills contents placed within the insert interior.

Abstract: A livestock feed wagon includes a frame, a feed container which is fitted on the frame, in particular provided with a feed mixer, a gripper construction having a movable arm construction and a gripper fitted thereon for grabbing an amount of animal feed from a pile of animal feed, and a weighing device. The weighing device is arranged and configured to weigh a grabbed amount of animal feed by determining a change in the weight of at least the feed container and the gripper construction with the grabbed amount of animal feed. As a result thereof, it is possible to determine both the total loaded weight in the feed container and the weight of a grabbed chunk of animal feed using the same weighing device, so that the chunk, if it is either too heavy or too light, can be returned prior being unloaded, if desired.

Abstract: An animal feed dispenser includes a feeding tube for receiving a predetermined amount of animal feed from a spinner disk located at the bottom of an outlet in a housing. The feeding tube includes at least one opening through which animals may access the interior of the feeding tube. The opening may be closed by a movable closure flap so as to restrict access to the feeding tube. The motor for rotating the spinner disk and an actuator for moving the closure flap may be controlled by a suitable timer mechanism.

Abstract: A dog droppings catcher includes a fixing board and a droppings bag. The fixing board has an end forming a coupling section and an opposite end forming an opening closure section. The droppings bag has an opening and an interior receiving space and is combinable with the coupling section. The coupling section includes a through hole in communication with the opening of the droppings bag. The device can be easily carried by a user or temporarily hung on a leash of a dog. Before dog droppings fall onto the ground, the user may hold the opening closure section in such a way as to allow the dog dropping to pass through the through hole of the coupling section into the droppings bag. The opening closure section is then folded toward the coupling section to get laid flat on the coupling section for closing the through hole of the coupling section.

Abstract: An automated protective enclosure for upland game birds is disclosed, where the enclosure includes a unidirectional entry and a mechanical exit that is selective controlled by a controller. By allowing the birds to enter the enclosure and be selectively released based on time or other criteria, the birds can be protected during vulnerable times, therefore increasing their chances for survival while allowing them to acclimate to the wild. Additional optional features for the enclosure include an electronic call for attracting the birds, food and water dispensers with sensors for detecting low-levels, an entry sensor for detecting birds entering the enclosure, temperature sensing and adjusting devices, and a camera for capturing images of birds or other animals entering or proximate the enclosure.

At least a first discharge transport element is mounted on the frame at the first level and extending transversely of the poultry conveyors and situated on the side of the platforms facing away from the poultry conveyor for the purpose of carrying away containers filled with poultry. A first connecting element extends between the first discharge transport element and each of the first platforms and mounted on the frame for the purpose of transporting containers filled with poultry between the relevant platform and the discharge transport element. The invention also relates to a method.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for combating the varroa mite in a bee brood, comprising at least one middle wall that can be inserted in particular into a beehive and that is provided with brood cells for female bees, the device having an electrical heating device that has a resistance heating element embedded in the middle wall and a control device connected to the latter which is designed such that an automatically running heating process can be initiated with a temporally pre-determined heat-up phase that lasts until a temperature of 39° C. to 45° C., preferably 39° C. to 42° C., is reached at the bottom of the brood cells in the region of the resistance heating element and then with a subsequent phase of maintaining this temperature for a predetermined period of time.

Abstract: This invention relates to a hollow telescoping fishing rod assembly with an inventive mounting block on the handle that aligns a hollow rod with a fishing reel so that the fishing line port of the reel is axially aligned with the opening in the proximal end of the hollow fishing rod. In some embodiments, the mounting block has a hinging mechanism to provide access to the end of the rod. The rod is segmented and provided with internal ferrules that reduce wear on the fishing line.

The hood portion is movable in a longitudinal direction of the body. The hood portion has a base end facing the nut portion and a leading end located opposite the base end. When viewing the hood portion from side, a length of an upper side of the hood portion from the base end to the leading end is longer than a length of a lower side of the hood portion from the base end to the leading end, and an upper contour of the hood portion has an upward convex curve line.

The first container portion may include a first portion of the second fishing rod opening and the second container portion may includes a second portion of the second fishing rod opening. The first and second fishing rod openings may be aligned such that a portion of a fishing rod can extend through the fishing line container. A first fishing line opening in the fishing line container may be configured to allow fishing line to be drawn from the fishing line container.

The hoof protection device includes a base, a cuff comprising one or more panels, and a means of securing the base and cuff to a hoof. The panels may be independently movable such that they lay at different angles to horizontal. May include one or more girdles configured to wrap around at least a portion of the cuff. Device includes one or more girdles configured to securably link the cuff with one or more anchor points of one or more anchor plates. Device includes an adjustable width base comprising an open and/or at least partially closed sole. Width can be adjusted by insertion of hoof, by girdle, and by positioning of panels.

Abstract: The invention relates to a barrier for inhibiting the migration of crawling animals such as insects. The barrier comprises a body that is configured to encircle a leg/wheel of a furniture item and thereby intercept any crawling insects. The body has an annular shape defined by an outer boundary and an inner aperture, in which the leg/wheel of the furniture item can be located. The barrier includes inimical means to inhibit the migration of any crawling insects across the body. The barrier further comprises a slit extending radially from the boundary to the aperture so that the body can be reversibly opened and closed. The slit advantageously allows the body to be opened and closed around the leg/wheel of the furniture item during installation. Likewise, the slit allows the device to be reopened and extracted from around the leg/wheel of the furniture item during removal.

Flexographic printing is particularly useful for disposing the cyclodextrin compositions on one or more substrates. Abstract: The present invention relates to an application of bisphenol salts in preparing a disinfectant used for sterilization or formaldehyde removal. The present invention provides a sterilization and disinfection system that uses oxygen in the air as oxidizer, kills microorganisms via catalyzed oxidation, and is particularly suitable in an air purification system. The disinfectant of the present invention can be used for an extended period of time insofar that air is continuously introduced, obviates the need for an anti-viral agent, also obviates the need for a peroxide that is potentially hazardous to safety, uses no halogen-containing irritating substance, and use no alcohol having risk of explosion. This disinfectant system that uses no precious metal is easy to prepare, low in use cost, and free of secondary pollution, and provides a good application prospect.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of producing a polyanilne zircornia nanocomposite, and the uses of the thus produced polyanilne zircornia nanocomposite for the treatment of wastewater. The polyanilne zircornia nanocomposite is characterized in having a particle size of about 0.3 to 50 ?m in diameter; an isoelectric point at about pH 6.2, and is capable of reducing at least 99% of the pathological microorganism and at least 60% of the phosphate in the wastewater after coming into contact with wastewater for 24 hrs and 12 hrs, respectively.
