The knitted component may have a forefoot portion with a top layer and a bottom layer, where a void is formed between the top layer and the bottom layer, and where the top layer is secured to the bottom layer via at least one common knit structure. A heel area may extend from the bottom layer of the forefoot portion in a longitudinal direction and may be secured to the bottom layer of the forefoot portion via at least one common knit structure. At least one extension may extend from the heel area in a second direction, the second direction being different than the longitudinal direction.

Abstract: The present disclosure is related to three-dimensionally printed articles for use in footwear and associated systems and methods. In some embodiments, a three-dimensionally printed article may comprise a closed-cell foam. The closed-cell foam may have a gradient in and/or may be a single integrated material. In some embodiments, a three-dimensionally printed article may comprise a sensor. The use of such arrangements can, according to certain embodiments, allow for the production of improved articles of footwear and/or customized articles of footwear.

The heel assembly has a housing and a heel piece pivoting is controlled by use of a two stage bayonet latch that may be selectively manipulated to convert the shoe between a ladies court style with the heel fully extended as a high heel and another style of lesser height with the heel piece in a retracted positon down beneath the sole. The other style may be a wedge, loafer, mule or sandal. The heel assembly may include with a spring that biases the heel piece towards the fully extended high heel configuration, such that the retracted heel piece in the retracted configuration springs into the fully extended high heel configuration when a button of the bayonet latch is depressed.

The interior surfaces of the first area and the second area may define at least part of a freely separable area between the first and second areas.

In one aspect, a method includes obtaining a three-dimensional model of a gemstone including representations of surfaces of the gemstone, identifying a region on a surface of the gemstone having an optical value higher than one or more other regions on the surface of the gemstone by analyzing the three-dimensional model of the gemstone, and determining a diffractive structure to be arranged on the identified region of the surface of the gemstone, such that the gemstone with the diffractive structure has a higher optical performance than the gemstone without the diffractive structure. The method can also include fabricating the determined diffractive structure on the identified region of the surface of the gemstone.
