Abstract: Disclosed is a wearable thermal protection and perspiration management apparatus that includes a two-ply composite main body and an inner layer of elastic material. The two-ply main body includes an outer layer made of moisture absorbent material and an interior layer made of moisture wicking material this is arranged in contact with the outer layer of moisture absorbent material. The interior layer provides a moisture barrier which is adapted for preventing captured moisture from contacting a wearer's body. The inner layer of elastic material is adapted and configured to secure the two-ply composite main body in contact with the wearer's body. Preferably, the two-ply composite main body has a Thermal Protective Performance rating of greater than 35 cal/cm2.

Abstract: Various methods are used to attach hair extensions to a user's hair. According to one method, a user's hair is parted and adhesive tape of a first extension is attached to hair above the part. The first extension and attached hair are lowered, and a second extension is positioned above the lowered extension such that adhesive tape of the second extension substantially aligns with the first extension's tape. The second extension's tape is attached to the user's hair to sandwich the hair between the two extensions. According to another method, a user's hair is parted and a first adhesive tape on one side of an extension is attached to hair below the part. A third tape is attached to the user's hair below the first tape to sandwich the hair between the tapes.

An example system includes a helmet, a load bearing harness, and a flexible extension coupled between the helmet and the load bearing harness. An activation of a magnetic field proximate the flexible extension causes a ferromagnetic infused medium to transition from a fluid state to a substantially rigid state causing the flexible extension to transition from a flexible state to a rigid state. When the flexible extension is in the rigid state, force applied to the helmet transfers through the flexible extension to the load bearing harness. The system further includes a sensor configured to detect an event. Particularly, the sensor causes the activation of the magnetic field proximate the flexible extension in response to detecting the event.
