Abstract: A removable cushion for supplementing footwear is shown and described. The removable cushion includes a resilient sole, a heel pocket, a closure encircling the footwear or body of the user proximate the heel pocket to retain the removable cushion on the footwear at the heel, and a front closure encircling the front of the foot to retain the removable cushion on the front of the footwear at the front of the foot. The closures may comprise encircling straps bearing hook and loop fastener. The resilient sole may have a low wall projecting upwardly at an open toe area and between the heel pocket and the front closure. The resilient sole may comprise closed cell foam and may have treads and an elevated heel.

Abstract: An article of sports apparel such as an outsole for a shoe may be formed based on a computational traction profile. The computational traction profile is built based on received sensor data, such as that obtained by a frustrated total internal reflection (“FTIR”) system having a surface on which an individual may perform a movement. The sensor data is obtained while a different article of sports apparel of the same type is worn by the person during an activity. The sensor data may be used to alter a visual outsole pattern, traction features such as projections or recesses, for example. One or more of the position, height, cross-sectional shape, and the like of the respective projections and recesses may be varied along the surface of the outsole in response to the computational traction profile.

Abstract: An adjustable heel support member includes a base portion and an extended portion. The extended portion comprises a lateral portion, a medial portion and a rearward portion. The heel support member further includes a fastening member that can be used to adjust the lateral portion, the medial portion and the rearward portion to resize the heel support member. In some cases, the fastening member may be an elastic ring.

Abstract: A shoelace securing assembly for securing shoelaces on shoes without tying the shoelaces includes a block that has a plurality of apertures each extending therethrough. Each of the apertures insertably receives a respective one of a pair of shoelaces on a shoe having the shoe laces arranged into a pair of loops. In this way the block facilitates the shoe laces to be secured in lieu of tying a knot. Thus, the block facilitates a child to secure the shoe on the child's foot without knowing how to tie the shoelaces. Each of the apertures has a prominence therein and the prominence in each of the apertures frictionally engages the respective shoelaces for retaining the shoelaces in the block.

Abstract: Systems and apparatus related to footwear including a modular lacing engine are discussed. In an example, a modular footwear apparatus including an upper portion, a lower portion, and a lacing engine is described. The upper portion can include a lace to adjust fit of the upper portion against a foot, the lace adjustable between a first position and a second position based at least in part on manipulation of an effective length of the lace. The lower portion can include a mid-sole and an out-sole, and the lower portion can be coupled to the upper portion at the mid-sole. The lacing engine can include a top-loading lace spool to engage a loop of the lace to enable manipulation of the effective length of the lace through rotation of the lace spool, the lacing engine received within a cavity in the lower portion.

Abstract: A clasp is configured to permanently interlock around a flexible strip of material and includes first and second interlocking members. At least one interlocking member includes a Bluetooth communication device. Each interlocking member can include a plurality of hooks and a corresponding plurality of recesses, where the recesses of one interlocking member receive the hooks of the other interlocking member to secure a band within the clasp between the interlocking members. The recesses can be completely internal to the clasp to prevent external tampering. Each of the interlocking members can include various protrusions and ribs that compress and secure the band within the clasp, so as to prevent movement of the band between the interlocking members when interlocked.

Abstract: There is provided a slide fastener with a separable stop including a retainer pin and a separable pin. The separable pin has a projection configured to be engaged with a fastener element. The slider includes a raised portion. For example, the raised portion extends on a lower surface of the upper plate rearward from a periphery of the guide post and is raised from the lower surface of the upper plate toward the lower plate. The raised portion of the slider and the separable pin have respective contact portions configured to come in contact with each other in a moving direction of the slider. At least one of the contact portion of the raised portion of the slider and the contact portion of the separable pin is provided with an intersecting portion obliquely intersecting with the moving direction of the slider.

Abstract: The application relates to a structure of a watch strap and a watchcase connected based on a magnetic attraction force. Two ends of the watchcase each are provided with a connection head, and two ends of the watch strap each are provided with a magnetic latching structure cooperated with the connection head. The magnetic latching structure includes a connecting head receiving recess and a first magnet. An opening matched with an engagement bolt is defined in the watch strap, the opening and the first magnet are positioned at two opposite sides of the connecting head receiving recess, the engagement bolt is positioned in the opening, a hollow groove is defined in the connection head and matched with the engagement bolt, and a second magnet is disposed at a top portion of the engagement bolt.

Abstract: The invention involves a modular jewelry system and method for constructing a modular jewelry system. The system includes a base having a bore, the side wall of the bore including a groove having a slight helix. The helix includes a small protrusion beyond which the helix flattens and the slot ends. A charm, stone or the like, has an outwardly extending stem; the stem including at least one outwardly extending tab. The tab is sized to cooperate with the groove, so that the stem is pulled into the bore as the stem is rotated until passing the protrusion, whereby the stem is locked into position in the bore.

To securely close the container, the liner free end is pulled out and tightly folded about itself, an upper edge of the integral side wall is tightly folded about itself, and a fastener secures the closed end. Within the outer shell chamber, at least two parallel spaced divider walls are provided which extend vertically from the bottom wall toward the outer shell open upper end creating sub-chambers.

Abstract: A snap fit interlock for attaching a component of a luggage article may include a snap fitting connecting a luggage article component to a luggage shell, and a locking feature automatically limiting the disengagement of the snap fitting once the snap fitting is engaged. The snap fitting may engage and move the locking feature as the snap fitting is moved in an insertion direction during attachment of the luggage article component to the luggage shell. The locking feature may disengage from the snap fitting when the snap fitting engages the luggage shell. A portion of the locking feature may be automatically positioned between the snap fitting and the luggage article component to limit disconnection of the snap fitting once engaged.

Abstract: A hair straightener comprising a first and second clamping plate parts is disclosed. One end of the first clamping plate part is articulated with one end of the second clamping plate part. A first housing is arranged at an outer side of the first clamping plate part and a second housing is arranged at an outer side of the second clamping plate part. A thermal insulation space is provided between the first clamping plate part and the first housing as well as between the second clamping plate part and the second housing. Housings are additionally arranged for contacting the hand of the user to facilitate holding, and are incompletely or indirectly contacted with the clamping plate parts, so that the heat conductivity is effectively reduced. The thermal insulation space further hinders the heat transmission and keeps the surface temperature of the housing maintaining in a comfortable range at all times.

Abstract: A variable diameter adjustable hair tool that includes a barrel with a number of plates. A heater included in the hair tool may transfer heat at a specified temperature to the plates. The heater may draw power from a power unit. The hair tool has a handle connected to the barrel that allows the user to hold the tool. The adjustable diameter is achieved by an actuator that alters the outer diameter of the barrel by changing the distance between a surface of the plates and a central axis of the barrel. The actuator may controlled by a control component that converts a user action into an action of the actuator. Other aspects are also described and claimed.

Abstract: Disclosed is a gripping apparatus for use by a user to immobilize hair strands associated with tangled hair in order to decrease damage to the hair strands when detangling. The apparatus includes a first jaw rotatably connected to a second jaw. The first and second jaws have first and second plates, respectively, to engage the tangled hair. The first and second plates include ridges, that also define grooves, to increase the surface area of the plates. The first and second jaws can be rotated between an open position to receive hair strands and a closed position to immobilize hair strands. The ridges on the first jaw are offset from those on the second jaw so that, in the closed position, the ridges on the first jaw are received in the grooves of the second jaw and the ridges on the second jaw are received in the grooves of the first jaw.

Abstract: A thick hair elastic includes a band that comprises a continuous loop. The band may be formed from a yarn that has been woven into the continuous loop or fibers that have been woven into the continuous loop. Opposite edges of the band may be rolled inwardly around a circumference of the band. A central opening of the thick hair band, which is defined by and extends through the band, may have a size sufficient to enable it to be worn around an individual's wrist, like a bracelet. Methods of manufacturing and using thick hair elastics are also disclosed.

Abstract: There is disclosed a hair fastener. The hair fastener is in the form of a loop for securing a log of hair within the loop. The hair fastener has an inner elastic core and an outer fabric enveloping the inner elastic core, wherein the elastic core is made of a band with a width of 2 to 6 mm and a thickness of 1 to 3 mm, and made of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). The hair fastener is adapted to assume a first, default, configuration in which an opening defined and surrounded by the loop has a first area and a second, fully expanded, configuration in which the opening defined and surrounded by the loop has a second area. Due to the physical configuration and material characteristics of the band, the band is elongateable up to 8.5 to 10 times of its original length thus enabling the first area of the loop to expand to the second area by a factor 72.3 to 100.
