Abstract: The present invention relates to a Bacillus amyloliquefaciens K2G strain, which is excellent in removal of anti-nutritional factors and in protease activity, and shows excellent antimicrobial activity against pathogens and reduced productivity of viscous substances, a method for producing a fermented soybean meal using the strain, a fermented soybean meal produced therefrom, and a feed composition including the same. The fermented soybean meal prepared by Bacillus amyloliquefaciens K2G strain according to the present invention has few anti-nutritional factors such as trypsin inhibitors, soybean oligosaccharides, and polysaccharides, a high content of crude proteins, and high protein solubility, and also consists of small-sized peptides digestible by livestock due to low-molecularization, thereby being effectively used as a high-quality vegetable protein feed having excellent absorption rate and feed efficiency.

Abstract: A process of encapsulating or coating amino acid particles is provided for producing an encapsulated amino acid feed product for ruminant animals. The encapsulated amino acid feed product comprises substantially uniform, round and dust free pastille granules. When the encapsulated amino acid feed product is fed to a ruminant animal, the product delivers high amounts of absorbable amino acid to the animal for direct nourishment, wherein the amino acid is not substantially fermented in the rumen of the animal. In an aspect, the process is a low-cost, high capacity, continuous process that produces a composition comprising greater than 50% by weight of a nourishing amino acid. The superior handling quality of the pastille granules allows for their use in further formulation of animal feeds, where homogeneous distribution of nutrients throughout the final feed mix is desired.

Abstract: The disclosure discloses a preparation method of rice noodles with low glycemic index, and belongs to the technical filed of food processing. According to the disclosure, by adding debranching enzymes and an emulsifying agent into rice starch, resistant starch is prepared and obtained through one-step extrusion, and then, other food raw materials are compounded to form the low glycemic index rice noodles through secondary extrusion. By using the characteristic that V-type crystals are formed by complexing the emulsifying agent and amylose, the disclosure adds the debranching enzymes and the emulsifying agent into a rice starch raw material for extrusion processing. The debranching enzymes added in a first-step extrusion processing process perform limited hydrolysis on starch to reduce starch branching and improve a content of the amylose.

Abstract: This invention relates generally to methods and compositions to achieve and maintain a desirable in vivo phenotype during fermentation and processing of food products for human or animal consumption. The methods and compositions of this invention require an activator that acts as a metabolic trigger for Mammalian Milk Oligosaccharide (MMO) consumption phenotype without necessarily requiring oligosaccharides (i.e a sugar polymer of 3 or more monosaccharides) within the fermentation medium. Compositions containing a non-oligosaccharide activator (e.g. monomers and dimers, and combinations thereof) may be used in fermentation processes of this invention. Turning on MMO-related genes without the use of oligosaccharides is one method of preparing activated commensal bacteria.

Abstract: Vaporization devices having portions to enable signal transmission therethrough. A vaporization device includes a body having a first end, a second end, and forming an internal cavity. At least a portion of the internal cavity forming a cartridge receptacle. The vaporization device includes a battery disposed within the internal cavity and a processor operatively coupled to the battery and disposed within the body. The processor is arranged to respond to a signal to switch the vaporization device between a first operational mode and a second operational mode. The vaporization device also includes a portion of the body arranged to permit transmission of the signal through the portion of the body from a location external to the body, thereby permitting the processor to switch the vaporization device between the first and second operational modes in response to the receipt of the signal.

Abstract: An adjustable strap comprises an elongated length and mating fastening portions on one side of the strap adjacent to one end of the strap. Gaps or spaces between the mating fastening portions or members provide a tactile effect or response when adjusting the strap to the closed position. The strap is permanently or releasably secured at one end to an attachment point or stabilizing component. The opposite end with the mating fastening portions folds to mate the portions and secure the strap in a closed configuration. The length of the strap can wrap around an object to mate the fastening portions. Alternatively, the length can interact with an additional stabilizing component or guiding member before mating the fastening portions to secure the strap.

Abstract: A brassiere includes a front portion configured to be position along a front of a torso, a back portion coupled to the front portion, and a shoulder strap extending from the front portion to the back portion. The front portion comprises a fabric layer and a discontinuous polymer layer. The fabric layer includes a first, user-facing side and second side opposite the first side. The polymer layer is deposited on the second side of the fabric layer. The polymer layer forms covered fabric areas where the polymer is applied to the fabric layer and noncovered fabric areas where the polymer is not applied to the fabric layer. The noncovered fabric areas provide openings in the discontinuous polymer layer, thereby exposing the fabric layer. An elastic modulus of the covered fabric areas is greater than the noncovered fabric areas.

Abstract: Articles of athletic garments, particularly sports bra and methods of treating the athletic garments with a shear thickening fluid (STF) are disclosed. The athletic garment comprises a STF treated fabric. The STF treated fabric in contact with the wearer's body part restricts movement of the body part when the shear stress exceeds the shear stress threshold value and stretches and conforms to the wearer's body part when the shear stress is less than the shear stress threshold value. The STF treatment method may include immersing the untreated fabric in a diluted STF bath, metering an amount of the fluid on the fabric, and removing the diluent from the treated fabric.
