  • Patent number: 10835867
Abstract: An ocean wave actuated gravitational desalination apparatus and system for generating potable water comprised of, a box platform with a piston pump at sea level, an inverted prism shaped subterranean water tank below sea level, and a desalination processing structure above sea level. When the ocean waves pass over the top of the box platform, the piston pump is raised to open a set of valves to let the sea water into a cylindrical chamber. When the piston goes down, the valves close and a second set of valves open to release the water into the subterranean tank to be further released into containers on a carousal structure that move on rails by gravity. The water in the containers is emptied into holding and pre-filtration tanks and forced through filters into a pipe by the actions of a hydraulic oil pump and the filtered water released for storage and use.

Abstract: A combination cleaning and disposal assembly for safely cleaning and rendering unusable a jug containing a hazardous chemical residue. A body supports a receiving chamber for receiving the jug. A manifold is supported by the body and has a plurality of spikes arrayed toward the jug. A pressurized fluid source is communicated to the manifold such that, upon an inter-displacement occurs between the manifold and the container, the spikes are caused to pierce the container, the pressurized fluid being caused to issue from the spikes to clean an interior of the container. A floor of the chamber has irregular surfaces to assist in deforming the jug during puncturing and outflow of contaminated fluid. A drain is located underneath the jug receiving chamber which collects and segregates the fluid contaminated with the chemical residue for securing disposal concurrent with removing and disposing of the cleaned and punctured jug.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided and, in one example embodiment, includes a plurality of holes occupying a center region of the apparatus. The apparatus also includes a perimeter that surrounds the holes such that an end user can grasp the perimeter when utilizing the apparatus. An object may be placed in contact with the holes and the perimeter folded inward toward the center region such that twisting of the apparatus extracts liquid from the object. In more specific embodiments, the holes are substantially equidistant from each other or staggered. The apparatus can be square in shape. In still other embodiments, the apparatus includes a recessed cavity, where the object is placed in the cavity before the twisting operation occurs.

Abstract: An apparatus for extracting liquid from a biomass material for removal or recovery by compaction uses an auger with multiple flights within a barrel to compress the biomass material such as straw, sawdust, or flax waste which can contain up to 50% liquid content through a discharge end of the barrel. The material is forced by inclined tips on the end of the auger flights into a polygonal forming barrel which includes a slotted section such that the liquid content is released from the material under the high temperature and pressure generated by the auger through the slots. This way, the machine uses the same mechanical process to both compact and dry out the biomass material, thereby reducing or eliminating the need to dry the biomass material in a separate prior process.
