Fountain Patents (Class 101/356)
  • Patent number: 7000544
Abstract: A process is provided for measuring the inking in web printing, wherein a measuring head or a plurality of measuring heads performs/perform an integrating measurement of the light remitted from a printed web of material in the direction of run of the web of material. A device is also provided for measuring the inking in web printing. The device includes at least one sensor element for receiving light, which is remitted by a running, printed web of material, an adding or integrating device, which is connected to a sensor element, of which there is at least one, in order to determine the intensity of the light received and a control, which presets the duration of reception of light and/or the duration of the addition or integration by means of the adding or integrating means for an adding or integrating intensity measurement of the remitted light in the direction of run of the web.

  • Patent number: 5477783
Abstract: A thin film-forming apparatus includes: an anilox roll having a large number of ink cells, an ink supply device for charging ink into the ink cells of the anilox roll, a printing roll having a projection which contacts the anilox roll is transferred and transferring the ink in the ink cells of the anilox roll is transferred to the projection, and a printing table for holding a material to be printed and bringing the material into contact with the projection of the printing roll so as to transfer the ink on the projection of the printing roll to a surface of the material. A first driving device is provided for rotating the anilox roll, a second driving device is provided for rotating the printing roll independently of the anilox roll, and a control device is provided for controlling the first and second driving devices so that the difference in the rotational speeds between the anilox roll and the printing roll is within a predetermined range.

  • Patent number: 4554870
Abstract: In an ink metering device for an ink trough--ink roller combination, circular-cylindrical buttons rotatably inserted into the bottom plate of the ink trough are used as ink metering elements. One face end of the buttons has raised projections acting as metering ridges, which are either in contact with the ink roller 2 or spaced apart therefrom by a specific distance. The projections acting as metering ridges preferably extend diametrically across the face end of each metering element. By rotating the metering elements about their axis of rotation, which is approximately perpendicular to a tangent of the ink roller, the ink metering can thus be varied from a minimum amount (zero) to a maximum (for complete inking), depending on the rotational position of the raised projections.

  • Patent number: 3956984
Abstract: A stencil printer has a base mounting an ink container and yieldable guides adapted to be traversed by a stencil carrier and a card carrier. The ink container has curved bottom and end walls and is spanned by a removable flexible plastic sheet confined by removable bearing blocks which journal the ends of roller shafts. The stencil holder releasably anchors a stencil in a manner convenient for removal and in proper printing position. The card carrier includes a card anchor spring urged to anchoring position and releasable incident to movement of the carrier to a releasing position. The device includes cushioning bumpers to deaden noise incident to operating movement of the device.

  • Patent number: 3934506
Abstract: An apparatus for imprinting intermittently advanced webs has a carriage mounted for reciprocal displacement parallel to the web on a support. The web passes between a backup plate and a print roller rotatably mounted on the carriage. The carriage is displaced in one direction while the web is at rest, the print roller being coupled to the support for rotation during displacement of the carriage to effect printing by engaging the web against the backup plate. Printing is effected during displacement of the carriage in both directions.
