Abstract: This invention pertains to a composition that can be used to heal cracks in plastics and other substrates. In the present invention, a composition comprising nanotubes, healing agent(s), and end caps for the nanotubes may be used to heal crack(s) as they begin to occur. With the composition, the healing agent(s) are contained within the nanotubes, and a reaction releases the healing agent(s) after the end caps can be removed from the nanotubes. This invention also includes a method of preparing a composition for healing cracks in plastics and other substrates. For this method, the healing agent(s) are filled inside of the nanotubes, and then end caps are bound onto the ends of the nanotubes. After a reaction occurs to remove the end caps and release the healing agent(s), the cracks within the substrate may then be healed.

Firstly, the nanocomposite coating is prepared, wherein the nanocomposite coating is formed by mixing 22.5˜49.5% nanometer inorganic oxide gel made by a sol-gel method, 45˜74.25% organic solvent and 1˜10% nanometer powder together. Next, the nanocomposite coating is coated onto surfaces of the product evenly by way of spraying, dipping or roll-to-rolling. Lastly, the product coated with the nanocomposite coating is subjected to a room temperature or a heating environment lower than 170 degrees centigrade to make the nanocomposite coating dry for forming nanometer protective films on the surfaces of the product.

Abstract: An improved composition for and method of priming a concrete pump line is provided. The flowable composition comprises a solid particulate mixture and water, the particulate mixture being comprised of solvatable polymeric material preferably selected from a group consisting of polyacrylamide, polyacrylate and mixtures thereof; an organic complexing agent preferably of urea; and a buffering agent preferably of citric acid. The invention provides a flowable composition exhibiting improved coating and lubrication to the inner walls of a concrete line as it passes therethrough. The flowable composition mixes quickly with water to form a clear solution, hydrates quickly upon being mixed with water, and provides a composition for use in priming concrete pump lines that does not utilize cement or priming grout slurry.
