Abstract: A method for scoop stitching includes the steps of changing the angle of attack of a curved needle before and after penetration of the needle into a fabric. The needle moves along an arc around an axis. The axis is reduced prior to needle penetration and is increased after penetration to assure good penetration depth in thick fabrics.
Abstract: A machine for manufacturing shoes by stitching along the border of the shoe with a striker situated inside the upper and positioned in the stitching area of the shoe, comprises a freely rotatable striker supported by an oscillating arm and positioned on the inside of the upper in correspondence of a stitching station. The station is defined by a guide fork situated with its prongs in a horizontal position, with which the striker engages when in its operating position.
Abstract: A chain-stitch blind stitch sewing machine having an arcuate needle to oscillate about an axis such that it passes through material to be sewn. An adjustable stitch loosening finger is attached to the sewing machine such that its position may be adjusted between a thread engaging position and a non-operative position. In its thread engaging position, the finger contacts the thread during the formation of each chain-stitch between two entry sites of the needle to form an additional free thread loop. A relatively loosely sewn point is thereby obtained. When the finger is in its non-operative position, the thread between the two entry sites will rest against the material being sewn to form a tightly sewn point.
