  • Patent number: 10889357
Abstract: The buoy and rope launching device comprises a launch structure, a vessel, and a buoy. The launch structure is configured for use with the vessel. The launch structure is configured for use with a buoy. The buoy further comprises a pennant. The pennant is a rope that attaches the buoy to the pot. The launch structure jettisons the buoy and the pennant from the vessel. The use of the launch structure prevents the entanglement of a crewperson in the pennant as the buoy and pennant are jettisoned.

  • Patent number: 5636943
Abstract: An apparatus and method for pressurizing the inside of tubular members of an offshore structure that are immersed in sea water so that the internal pressure resists the hydrostatic pressure of the sea water. To achieve this internal pressure, gas is generated automatically on the inside of the members as the structure descends to its in-place location. The gas can also be used to deballast a tubular member.

  • Patent number: 5543910
Abstract: A range finding device and method for determining the distance between a merged submarine and a target above the surface having a first and second periscopes mounted on a submarine with a known separation. These periscopes are rotatable and extensible above the surface and can determine the bearing from each of the periscopes to the target. A computer receives the bearings from the first and second periscopes and uses the bearings with the known preset distance between the periscopes to calculate the distance between the submarine and the target.
