Abstract: A wireless drink container can monitor a person's hydration and prompt him or her to drink more if appropriate. The drink containers as described herein can monitor liquid levels and communicate with external devices about the liquid levels and rate of consumption. One or more sensors in the drink container monitor the liquid level within the container. A processor coupled to the sensor(s) estimates how much liquid has been removed from the container from changes in the liquid level and transmits a signal representing the change in liquid level to a smartphone or other external device. It also triggers an audio or visual indicator, such as an LED, that prompts the user to drink more based on the user's estimated liquid consumption and on the user's liquid consumption goals, which may be based on the user's physiology, activity level, and location.

  • Patent number: 4912307
Abstract: A device for keeping score during a scoring game and, in particular, during a game of golf. A plurality of counting beads having respective passages formed therethrough are strung in a serpentine manner on respective first and second portions of a string, such that the first and second portions of string overlap one another in the passage of each bead. Score is kept by selectively sliding the beads along the length of string to a desired position, wherein they are maintained in place by the string.

  • Patent number: 4860684
Abstract: An infant bottle timer apparatus is set forth where an encircling indexed band is fixedly securable to an associated exterior surface of a baby bottle-type feeding implement. The timer apparatus includes a lowermost portion indexed consistent with the hours of the day and a pointer selectively manipulatable within an overlying integrally formed track for indication of a subsequent feeding timing event. The track includes a channel capturing a leaf spring. The leaf spring is secured to and cooperates with the pointer which is of a generally "H" shaped cross-sectional configuration. A first pair of legs of the "H" shaped pointer is ridable within the channel and frictionally securable within the channel in cooperation with the leaf spring. A further pair of legs of the "H" shaped pointer are oriented exteriorly of the channel for indication of a subsequent feeding event in cooperation with the indicator band.

  • Patent number: 4703712
Abstract: A manual selector includes a frame fixedly seated on a base forming oppositely opening internal grooves. A slide is slideable lengthwise in the grooves between discrete selective positions. A position identifying colored surface of the base is visible through a slot in the top of the frame for distinguishing between the selector positions. The slide includes a plurality of feet at opposite sides of the slide. The feet contact the colored base surface only at the opposite margins of the surface. A slide-locating assembly includes an interengageable member carried by the slide and a plurality of cooperating interengageable members carried by the frame. The engagement of the slide interengageable member with one of the frame interengageable members defines one of plurality of selective positions.

  • Patent number: 4690138
Abstract: An endotracheal tube (10) is adapted to cooperate with a marking insert (36) for the purpose of providing means for the indication of a correct depth of placement of the endotracheal tube as it resides appropriately positioned within the intubated pathway. The marking insert is included to the receptive interior of a secondary passage (26) defined by the wall (14) of the tubular member (12) of the endotracheal tube and is slidably adjusted into a postion to space-relate a suitable portion of the marking insert with a stationary reference means such as the patient's lips (56A and 56b). The adjustment of the insert into a marking position is made at a time when the position of the forward end (20) of the endotracheal tube is known to be correctly distant from the tracheal bifurcation (54). The forward termination (40) of the insert may be used to adjacently space-relate with the stationary reference means and may be visible through the transparent wall of the endotracheal tube.
