  • Patent number: 7067010
Abstract: The machine is an index spraying machine. The machine has five different stations. The first station is the load/unload station. At this station, work pieces are unloaded after they have been sprayed and new work pieces to be sprayed are loaded on. New pieces then move into the pre-heat station tunnel. A third station is the spraying area. In this area, the work pieces are sprayed. After being sprayed, the work pieces move in the area where they are heated to flash off the volatile fumes. Then they move to the fifth work station where they are cooled and finally they move back into the load/unload station. The spraying area in this machine is sealed to meet NEMA 7 standards. The air capture system cascades the air, thus lowering the air volume that passes through the thermal oxidizer.

  • Patent number: 7022186
Abstract: A system, method and apparatus for collecting overspray from single color coating applications. Within a spraying area are one or more curtains. The curtains are continuously coated on one side with the material to be sprayed through material dispensers aimed at the upper region of the panel curtains. The material dispensers coat the panel curtains so that material runs down the panel curtains and into a recycling pan. Spraying equipment is used to coat the object. The spraying occurs in the direction of the panel curtains. Thus, any overspray material from the spraying process is deposited on the panel curtains. The flowing material on the curtain collects the overspray material to and transfers it to the collection pan for re-use in the collection process. In the collection pan, one or more agitators may be used to ensure proper consistency is maintained for the material.

Abstract: A booth for coating objects with powder, in particular for powder painting, comprises in a manner known per se a housing, in which there is situated at least one application device, with which powder can be applied to the objects. Situated in the upper region of the housing is an air plenum, which is fed with supply air via an inlet opening. The air plenum is closed off downwardly by a filter ceiling. The supply air is thus introduced into the interior of the booth as a kind of “air curtain” which flows mainly along the side walls of the housing of the booth, entrains in the process stray excess powder which has not adhered to the objects to be coated, and supplies it to at least one extraction opening situated in the bottom of the booth.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for spray coating an article and includes a housing defining a spray chamber. A spray gun is mounted on the housing for spray coating the article in the spray chamber. A shroud is disposed about the spray gun and defines an air passage between an inside of the shroud and an outside of the spray gun. Heated air is passed through the passage to heat the spray gun and, thereby, heat a coating material passing through the spray gun. A system includes a curing apparatus whereat the article, with the spray coating thereon, is finished by curing the spray coating. The curing apparatus creates an amount of heated air which is fed to the shroud.

In one embodiment, planarizing pad material is mixed with compressed gas to form a plurality of discrete elements that are distributed on a support material. At least a portion of the discrete elements are spaced apart from each other on the support material to form a textured surface for engaging a microelectronic substrate and removing material from the microelectronic substrate. The discrete elements can be uniformly or randomly distributed on the support material, and the discrete elements can be directly affixed to the support material or affixed to the support material with an adhesive.
