Abstract: A hybrid cover for use in the construction of a pet bed that may make use of a used pillow for a cushioning member in conjunction with the hybrid cover in constructing the pet bed. The hybrid cover includes a bed portion and a flap portion that may be disposed in an overlapping and non-overlapping position with respect to the bed portion. A pillow may be provided in an interior space of the bed portion. The pillow may have a scent that is smellable at an exterior of the hybrid cover when a pet bed is constructed using the hybrid cover and the pillow.

Abstract: A folding pet bed includes a frame with a top face and a bottom face and includes: a spine; a first and second frame plates coupled to the spine to form rotating joints; the first and second frame plates including flexible arms, where each of the flexible arms includes a first end fixably coupled to the corresponding frame plate and a second end not fixably coupled to the corresponding frame plate; and a plurality of casters coupled to the second ends of the flexible arms at the bottom face of the frame. The pet bed further includes trays coupled to the frame plates at the top face of the frame upon which a pet may rest. The trays may be rotated toward each other to place the pet bed in a folded position for easy movement and storage.

Abstract: A thermodynamic pet cooling station that uses conductive properties to transfer cold temperatures from a cooling element contained within an insulated base to the surface of a platform tile, creating an efficiently cooled area where an animal my rest when he/she is subjected to dangerously hot weather. The pet cooling station is thermodynamically cooled using three integral components: a molded insulated base, structural platform tiles made from a conductive metal comprised of a planar surface with temperature-transfer cases affixed to their underside, and cooling pods, that can be pre-frozen and are reusable, containing a non-toxic liquid that is housed in either a similar conductive metal or a durable membrane that will hold its shape and efficiently transfer the frozen temperature to the temperature-transfer cases allowing thermodynamics to follow the specific pathway of interconnected metal and move the cold temperature up and across the structural platform planar surface in an efficient manner.

Abstract: A pet bed having a pet cushion for supporting a pet has a lower cushion for improving comfort when held on one's lap. Between the pet cushion and the lower cushion is an intermediate planar layer made of a stiff material. The pet cushion rests on or is affixed to a top surface of the intermediate planar layer and the top surface of the lower cushion is affixed or removably affixed to a bottom surface of the intermediate layer. When lifting or carrying the pet bed, the intermediate planar layer remains substantially planar, even while a pet rests on the pet surface of the pet cushion.

In use, the provided article is positioned about the abdominal torso of the caregiver, the strap is placed about the lumbar region of the caregiver and tightened in place and a pet, such as a dog or cat, is placed atop the cushion.

Abstract: An animal climbing arrangement includes a two-dimensional appliqué and at least one shelf for attachment to a wall. The two-dimensional appliqué is adapted for flush attachment to the wall and includes a graphical representation of at least a portion of a support structure. The at least one shelf provides a perch for a pet and is visually associated with the support structure of the two-dimensional appliqué such that the at least one shelf appears to be supported by the support structure in a two-dimensional view.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a mobile pet bed wherein the top and bottom units of the mobile pet bed are reversibly attached to each other. When the top unit is removed from the bottom unit the mobile pet bed functions similarly to a traditional pet bed. The upper section of the curtain has a channel through which an elastic band extends. The curtain is positioned such that the elastic band is located around the lower region of the seat portion, such that the curtain extends down and circumscribes the seat portion. This creates an enclosed space beneath the seat portion. A pillow or similar resting surface is placed within the enclosed space on which the pet can position itself.

The pet bed may include at least one pad defining an internal chamber, and a batting secured within the at least one pad. The batting allows water within the internal chamber to easily flow therethrough so that heat is transferred away from the pet through convection and conduction.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a cushioning device for supporting a large animal such as a cow or a horse. The cushioning device comprises a top surface, a bottom surface, said top surface and bottom surface forming a chamber, and an amount of a gelatinous filling material disposed within the chamber. The present invention relates also to methods of transporting and installing a cushioning device for supporting a large animal. The method comprises transporting the cushioning device and a compound capable of creating a gel upon contact with a liquid may be delivered separately to the site. At the remote site the compound may be disposed within the chamber and the chamber may then be filled with an amount of liquid to create the gel within the cushioning device. The compound may also be delivered to the site already disposed within the chamber.

Abstract: A pet bed combination apparatus is constructed of three cushions, with two edges of each cushion attached to a different one of the other cushions. The pet bed combination has a front and rear opening and forms a tunnel structure that a burrowing pet can enter to and exit from either of the two openings. The pet bed combination is triangular in shape when viewed from the front or rear opening. The pet bed combination can be used by a pet for exercise or as a place to rest, and the dimensions of the pet bed combination are selected so that when the primary pet using the apparatus tunnels into the bed, the three inside surfaces of the apparatus are in contact with the pet.

Abstract: An architecture is presented that provides a fitted sheet for a pet bed that is easy to apply to and remove from a variety of conventional pet beds. The protective sheet is designed to maintain a form-fitting shape around the pet bed. The protective sheet is easy to apply or remove with little skill or effort. Once applied, the protective sheet is held in place without the need for a zipper.

The frame has three horizontal bars forming a three-sided top frame and a fourth horizontal bar on the fourth side is lower than the other three horizontal bars. Fabric materials attached to the frame form a floor, four side walls and a horizontal divider located just below the fourth horizontal bar. A first mattress is placed over the horizontal divider to form a sleeping surface. A second mattress is placed on the fabric floor, such that the four side walls, the second mattress and the horizontal divider form a pet house.

While in the open position the arms may receive a shirt of the pet owner, much like a mannequin. Then the arms may be moved to the closed position, and the small pet inside enjoys the feeling of being held by the pet bed and the scent of the owner's clothing. Advantageously, the shirt may be laundered, worn by the owner and replaced onto the pet bed.

Abstract: Bedding material for livestock is produced by extruding straw through a conventional cubing system rather than a conventional pellet mill. The cubing process generates friction in turn changing the properties of the straw making the straw particles highly absorbent. The cubing process allows for greater particle size in the finished product as compared to pellets produce in a conventional pellet mill. The process involves the following: shredding the straw to proper size, cubing the straw into cubes and flakes, cooling, storing and packaging. The cubing process requires 40% less energy based on throughput of finished product, thus making the material more affordable to larger farming operations. Some other properties include a higher bulk density than large conventional bales or wood shavings, less dust when applying, a pasteurized product, easier to handle and spread compared to straw bales, wood shavings and sawdust.

Abstract: An odor absorbing pad that includes a supply of powdered carbon fiber for absorbing odors, such as from a pet. The odor absorbing pad includes a center cushioning material that provides the required cushioning for the pad. The center cushioning material is surrounded by a liner that is air permeable and impermeable to a supply of carbon powder. The supply of carbon powder is freely distributed onto the center cushioning material and entrapped by the liner. The odor absorbing pad is configured as a pet bed such that the supply of carbon powder absorbs pet odor.

Abstract: A thermodynamically cooled portable pet bed consisting of an insulated molded base, a planer top made from a conductive metal with wicking chambers welded to its undersurface, and pre-frozen, re-usable pods containing a non toxic liquid that is housed in either a similar conductive metal or a durable membrane that will hold its shape and efficiently transfer the frozen temperature to the wicking chambers and up to the surface above. Once the pods are inserted into the wicking chambers, and the top is closed into the insulated base, the above components create several hours of an efficiently cooled surface for the animal to enjoy without any human intervention.

This device is directed to the reduction of injury to a pet riding in a vehicle during an accident, stop or slowdown of the vehicle.

The pet swing set includes a horizontal bar supported with four foldable legs, a seat that is hung from the horizontal bar by a set of strings, rods or chains with matching pattern. A grooming means for pets is removably fixed on the seat. A stepping structure is disposed between the seat and ground, to provide stability and access to the pet swing.

Abstract: The invention relates to a convertible cushion that may be used as a blanket in an unfolded configuration or used as a cushion or bed in a folded configuration. One use of such a device relates to a fully washable pet bed. When folded, the convertible cushion may be used by a pet as a bed. When unfolded, the convertible cushion may be used as a blanket. Additionally, the device is constructed of material that is fully washable so that it may be washed in a typical household washing machine when in the unfolded position and fully cleaned. For some configurations, the convertible cushion may further be used in a pocketbook mode, a backpack mode, and a sleeping bag mode (by combining two or more convertible cushions).

Abstract: A method for fabricating pet beds that are uniform in shape that is cost effective and rapidly completed. A plug is wrapped in several layers of foam or padding. Each layer of foam is coupled to each other, however the plug is not coupled to any of the foam layers itself. After the foam has been properly placed, the plug is removed and a spring set that is substantially shaped like the plug is inserted into its place. The foam and spring set are then enveloped within a mattress cover. The pet bed may be fabricated in a plurality of shapes using the same process including oval or elliptical, circular, triangle or wedge, and rectangular. Each shape may also be fabricated using the same process in a “flat” or “high back” configuration.
