Abstract: An animal warming enclosure which is suitable for enclosing large animals, such as newborn calves, and protecting them during inclimate weather. The enclosure can be mounted on a vehicle, such as a truck, and the animal will be transported while other chores are completed. The animal will remain warm and can be returned to an appropriate location, such as a barn, when the chores are completed. The enclosure is fluidically connected to the exhaust system of the vehicle so that warm exhaust is used to provide heat for the enclosure.
Abstract: An animal lift apparatus comprises a lift. The lift includes a rigid support sheet, wherein the rigid support sheet is capable of supporting an animal. A lifting mechanism is capable of raising or lowering the rigid support sheet to a desired position. The rigid support sheet is supported in a raised or lowered position by at least one lift arm. At least two wheels are connected to the lift to allow the animal lift apparatus to be rolled to a desired location. A release is capable of being engaged to enable the rigid support sheet to be raised or lowered to the desired position. At least one belt is capable of strapping the animal to the rigid support sheet. The rigid support sheet may also include a waste portal. A waste container may also be included, wherein the rigid support sheet is sloped such that waste from the animal may be directed toward the waste portal via the sloped rigid support sheet. Waste then flows through the waste portal into the waste container. At least two I.V.
Abstract: A method of transporting and lifting a large immobile animal for treatment of the animal includes transporting the animal with a transport cart and lifting the animal with a lift. The transport cart includes a generally rectangular collapsible frame having a front frame member pivotally attached to a rear frame member. A set of wheels are attached to the rear frame member for rolling movement of the cart. A handle is pivotally attached to the front frame member. A removable support sheet is carried by the frame. The lift includes a base supported by wheels for rolling movement of the lift, a lowered generally rectangular support frame, a generally rectangular support sheet carried by the generally rectangular support frame, a frame lifting mechanism disposed between the base and the frame, and a driving mechanism coupled to the lifting mechanism.

Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for restraining an animal, comprising (1) an animal receiving table pivotable between a substantially vertical position and a working position which is spaced above the ground, and (2) an animal restraint pad associated with the table and adapted to be moved in both the vertical position and the working position between an open position and a position whereby it can restrain an animal against the table. The invention also relates to a method for restraining the animal.
Abstract: A portable chute for immobilizing an animal (e.g. a dairy cow) which has a front gate, a rear gate, and a stanchion for immobilizing the animal, all of which are operable by a single operator from a single location at the rear of the chute. The chute is pivotably mounted onto the bed of a vehicle and is rotatable by a fluid-operated cylinder between a horizontal or hoof-trimming position on the bed of the vehicle and an upright, vertical or cow-loading position.
Abstract: A portable animal restrainer comprising a flooring surface secured within a stable framework that is rotatable so as to position the animal correctly and less stressfully for oral dosing. A small animal such as a rabbit is placed inside and secured using an adjustable back plate, body and neck straps, and a fixed neck and paw plate, thus restraining the animal from movement while the unit is rotated on the restrainer's rear tracks to position the animal for various dosing techniques.
Abstract: A large animal handling chute designed to accommodate an elephant includes a fixed wall assembly and an opposing, movable wall assembly. The movable wall assembly is selectively movable toward and away from the fixed wall assembly upon movable supports traversing a pair of top and a pair of bottom support rails. The movable wall is independently pivotable at each of the movable supports. Four leg straps, two body straps, and a body support flap are provided to secure the elephant within the chute, and the entire chute including the confined elephant is rotatable about a pivot support to make the elephant's feet and legs accessible to a handler. A floor is hinged to the fixed wall assembly and can be hydraulically lowered to a horizontal position once the chute is rotated. The lowered floor thus provides a convenient work platform for an animal handler or veterinarian.
