A structure (26) is for fluidly attaching the first cartridge (18) to the second cartridge (22), so that the first hair color solution (20) will mix with the second hair color solution (24). A facility (28) on the second cartridge (22) is for applying a controlled amount of the mixed hair color solution (20), (24) onto a portion of the hair (30) of a person (32), so that the hair (30) can be touched up with the mixed hair color solution (20), (24).

Abstract: An apparatus for manicuring nails including a first container that has a front end and a back end. Included is a second container that has a front end and a back end. A back threaded portion of the second container is sized for releasable coupling with the threaded recess wall of the first container. A first end cap has a back end with a projecting cylindrical tip and a solvent applicator. A second end cap has a back end with a projecting cylindrical tip and a polish applicator. Also, a first cap cover is provided and sized for positioning over the first end cap. Lastly, a second cap cover is provided for positioning over the second end cap.

Abstract: A plasticized high water content cosmetic gel that will be sharpenable when used as a core inside of a sharpenable pencil barrel. The gel essentially comprises, by weight, about 25-42% water; about 25-35% of a polyol or aliphatic diol vehicle such as a butylene glycol; about 4-12% sodium stearate; about 0.1-2% of a carboxylated acid ester plasticizer; about 4-28% of a colorant; and about 0.1-1% of a surfactant. To reduce syneresis, adding about 1 percent or less a viscosity increasing agent is effective. For water resistance when the cosmetic gel is applied to a user's skin, adding about 5-10% of a styrene acrylic polymer waterproofing agent is effective, and does not increase irritation levels out of the mild range.

Abstract: A cosmetics container is provided having a housing (1) which is coverable by a cap (2). The housing protectively contains a cosmetic or medicinal preparation such as a lipstick or ointment which can be extruded for application to the skin. In solid lipsticks, problems often arise as a result their temperature-dependent characteristics. To avoid such problems, the container of the invention is for use with a pumpable fluid preparation in the form of a paste or viscous liquid. The container acts as a dispenser, having a push-button actuator (10, 20') operable to pump the preparation in a skin contact element (31) with an applicator surface (32) and a dispensing valve (33). In a particularly useful embodiment, the skin applicator surface (31) is arranged in a plane which is inclined in relation to a longitudinal axis (x--x) of the housing (1).

Abstract: A universal cover for cosmetic dispensers is disclosed. The cover comprises a cover body having an open end and a closed end and a retainer secured to the cover, adjacent to the open end, for securing the cover to a dispenser. The retainer comprises a ring of foam or other resilient material adhered or otherwise secured to the cover body adjacent to an open end of the cover body. At least a portion of the cover body is transparent or at least color transparent, so that one can view and identify a cosmetic in a cosmetic dispenser with the cover secured thereto.

Abstract: A brush for applying make-up, particularly mascara, including a shaft provided at one end with a core (6) formed by two metal wires (7, 8) twisted together and having bristles (9) squeezed therebetween such that they extend transversely to the core axis. At least some of the brush bristles (9) have an L-shaped cross-section so that the portion of each bristle (9) which is squeezed between said twisted core wires is flattened either outwards when the arms of the L are pushed apart, or inwards when they are pressed together. In either case, the stiffness of the bristle is reduced and the spacing between the bristle and a wire helix formed after twisting is advantageously increased, whereby a random distribution of bristle cross-sections is achieved.

Abstract: A cosmetic package includes an open-top casing, a closure and a tray pivotally mounted to opposite sides of the casing, with the tray removably carrying a plurality of elongated sticks each coated at one end with a cosmetic product, such as lipstick, nail polish or eye make-up. The elongated sticks can also take the form of make-up pencils. The tray includes a pair of parallel and spaced apart notched members, with the notches of one member being aligned with respective notches of the other member, whereby each pair of aligned notches cooperate for retaining one elongated stick. The elongated sticks are carried on the underside of the tray when it is retracted in the casing. Aligned openings are defined in the closure and in the tray for viewing the coated ends of the sticks when the package is closed. The opening of the closure is fitted with a protective window.

Abstract: The present invention provides a disposable applicator for sampling cosmetics including lipsticks at the retail counters. Also provided are methods for extracting or otherwise transferring the cosmetics onto the applicator and sampling the cosmetics.

Abstract: A box with a top lid hingedly attached thereto and a carrier movably disposed within an interior of the box and structured to hold cosmetic articles in a predetermined arrangement such that the cosmetic articles can be removed from within the box. A ribbon is attached to the box at one end with an opposite free distal end of the ribbon extending from the box interior. Pulling on the free end causes the ribbon to engage the carrier, forcing the carrier upwardly from a lowered, stowed position to a raised position, facilitating access to the cosmetic articles held by the carrier.

Abstract: In combination, a molded bottle and a stick dispenser wherein the bottle comprises front and rear faces and side edges. One of the side edges has a cavity for nesting the stick dispenser. The stick dispenser has end surfaces and the cavity has end surfaces. Each of the end surfaces of the stick dispenser has a recess and each of the ends of the cavity has a domed surface. The domed surfaces are sized and spaced to receive each of the recesses of the stick dispenser in a snap fit.

Abstract: A cosmetic organizer for retaining a plurality of cosmetic products and cosmetic applicators within a housing is disclosed. The cosmetic organizer comprises at least one cosmetic applicator receptacle device for receiving and retaining corresponding cosmetic applicators therein. The receptacle device is movable between a retracted position at which it is retained within a housing so that it cannot be removed therefrom, and a projected position at which it is arranged at least partially outside of the housing and can easily be removed therefrom. An ejection device is arranged in the housing for forcing the cosmetic holding device from its retracted position to its projected position. A latch mechanism is used to secure the cosmetic holding device in its retracted position and to selectively permit the cosmetic holding device to move to its projected position. A sealing device is provided to prevent the cosmetic applicators from drying out when stored within the housing.

Abstract: A case is disclosed for holding a lipstick in a conventional lipstick holder in combination with a lip brush, a clip for holding the top of a conventional lipstick and a mirror. The case consists of a hollow cylinder in which the lip brush is held in place by frictional engagement and a platform attached to the bottom of said cylinder having a circular portion in which a conventional lipstick holder can rest. Means for holding the conventional lipstick holder in position and a rotatable cap pivotally mounted on the top of said case to allow access to the lipstick holder during the application of lipstick. The mirror is mounted on the body of the case.

Abstract: A hand held coating apparatus is comprised of first and second applicators in one apparatus. The handle is located in between the first and second applicators. The first applicator head, located on one end of the handle, is rotatable and the second applicator head, located on the opposite end of the handle, is non-rotatable, which is stationary head. Rotatable applicator is comprised of a sleeve and a sponge cover, which are secured on a rod end. The rotatable applicator is for rapid and evenly spreading coating material. Non-rotatable applicator is for mixing, dabbing, and applying coating material in hard to reach areas. The apparatus is small enough to be flipped over with a single hand motion, which allows the user to implement each applicator individually. The apparatus can be used for coating, such as paint, art work, make-up applications, body massasge or cooking practices.

Abstract: A cosmetic dispenser which has a first tubular element, including a cosmetic holder for dispensing cosmetics, and a second associated tubular element, including a mirror for observing the application of the cosmetics. The first tubular element has a cylindrical space between an outer sleeve and an inner sleeve for telescopically receiving the second tubular element. The mirror is carried in a protective mounting on the second tubular element to reduce the possibility of damaging the mirror when sliding the second tubular element into or out of the first tubular element. When the two elements are combined for storage purposes, the surface of the mirror is protected by the outer sleeve of the first tubular element.

Abstract: A lipstick case includes a stationary tube formed with an axially extending guide slot, a rotatable tube formed with an internal spiral groove and rotatably sleeved on the stationary tube, and a lipstick base provided inside the stationary tube and receiving a lipstick therein. The lipstick base has an outward radial projection which extends into the guide slot and the spiral groove. A sound generating unit is provided on a lower end of the stationary tube and is operable so as to generate sound when the rotatable tube is rotated relative to the stationary tube in order to move the projection of the lipstick base upwardly along the guide slot and the spiral groove and thereby protrude the lipstick out of the stationary tube.

Abstract: A make-up brush device, designed for use in beautifying the cheeks or lips, comprises a cylindrical casing which provides several individual spaces therein defined by a separator of flexible material extending axially, each individual space being provided for accommodating each respective brush stick mounted for axial sliding movement. Those individual brush sticks may be selected, depending upon the specific requirements, by causing the appropriate brush stick to travel axially toward the head end of the cylindrical casing.

Abstract: A cosmetic case which substantially reduces soiling, has a cover hingedly connected to a base and closed with a locking member. A holder for cosmetic applicators is attached to the base and has a resilient, normally angular pocket for receiving and storing the application end of the applicator, with only the handle exposed. The holder is compressed when the case is closed. A light touch on the locking member permits the holder to push the cover open.A cosmetic applicator which substantially reduces soiling and which can be carried in a handbag, consists of a sliding sleeve attached to a body having a handle end and an application end.

Abstract: A disposable mascara tester for the hygienic testing of cosmetic materials includes a stem, an applicator attached to the stem, a stripper on the stem, and a plastic covering disposed about the stem, the stripper and the applicator. The plastic covering is sealed to thereby define a sealed capsule in which the stem, the stripper and the applicator are encapsulated. The applicator is operable to effect application of a sample of cosmetic material within the sealed capsule upon unsealing of the plastic covering.

Abstract: The applicator case for lipstick and similar applications comprises a body defining a base forming a bottom. The base is extended by an envelope having a slot and forming a guide for a sheathe defining a protrusion extending through the slot of the envelope. The sheath has a length less than that of the envelope and forms an inner ring against which abuts the lipstick and similar applications.

Abstract: A lipstick cap with lamp devices, including a cap sleeve used to receive common lipstick seat, and a rotary switch rotarily engaged with the cap sleeve, wherein the cap sleeve is equipped with several lamp devices and a pair of conducting plates electrically connect the lamp devices in series, and the rotary switch has a battery container including an anode and cathode conducting plates which can be selectively electrically connected with the conducting plates of the lipstick cap by means of rotating the rotary switch thereabout whereby when a battery is disposed in the battery container, the lamp devices can be alternatively lighted up in case of applying the lipstick in a dimly lighted place.

Abstract: An applicator and/or scrub saturated with a desired fluid is packaged in a sealed, liquid-impervious pouch. The liquid-carrying applicator or scrub is made from open-cell, polyurethane foam. A cylinder of the foam is mounted on a stick. The tip end of the foam applicator is fastened to the tip of the stick in a manner that creates a rounded smooth tip. The tip end of the foam applicator may be formed into a smaller brush-like shape.

Abstract: A make-up tool and holder assembly includes a holder body substantially in the shape of a plate, a plurality of cavities formed in the holder body through the entire thickness thereof, and a plurality of tools each having at one end thereof a make-up head and having a dimension capable of being accommodated in a respective cavity. The tools are arranged to be secured in the cavities in a detachable manner so that any desired tool can be separated from the holder body for use alone.

The holder includes: a holder body; a cover member; and a slanting surface. The holder body includes bottom and a peripheral walls defining a hollow for receiving the cosmetic case. The peripheral wall includes front and rear portions. The cover member is pivotally connected to the rear portion of the peripheral wall so as to open and close the hollow. The slanting surface extends between the bottom wall and the rear portion of the peripheral wall. The slanting surface inclines in such a manner that its rear edge is positioned at a higher level than its front edge. The distance between the front edge of the slanting surface and the front portion of the peripheral wall is less than the length of the cosmetic case and not less than the length of the other portion of the cosmetic case.
