Abstract: A shunt pan is used to prevent excessive water damage from occurring if water leaking from a kitchen appliance is not discovered in a timely manner. The shunt pan directs the flow of collecting water into a walkway of a kitchen, where it is visible, rather than allowing the water to soak into surrounding kitchen walls and cabinets. A shunt pan is characterized by a rectangular floor bordered on three sides by walls, but not bordered by a physical obstruction on the fourth side, which is open. Preferably, the open side includes an indicator material, such as confetti or glitter in a water-soluble binder, that can be carried by flowing water into the walkway. If the water that carried the indicator material evaporates, the indicator material will remain in the walkway to clearly show the presence of a water leak.

Abstract: A flush plug and a collar are used in installing a drain or cleanout. A flush plug is temporarily attached to the nipple of a cleanout or to a drain base and leveled. Concrete is then poured flush with the top of the flush plug. After the flush plug is removed from the cured concrete, a collar is installed in the hole in the concrete left by the flush plug. The outside of the lower portion of the collar is beveled like the flush plug. The upper portion of the collar includes a sleeve rising above the top surface of the surrounding concrete by an amount equal to the thickness of the specific floor finish. Tile or other finish may then be laid to around the collar. The installed drain will be flush and level with the flooring around it.

Abstract: The formation of pollutants in a hydrocarbon reformer is reduced by use of flue gas recirculation. In typical systems and methods, a hydrocarbon reformer has air intake from an air intake fan where the hydrocarbon reformer produces flue gas exhaust. A portion of the flue gas exhaust is fed into an induced draft fan, wherein a flue gas recirculation (“FGR”) fan draws a portion of the flue gas exhaust located downstream of the induced draft fan. The portion of the flue gas is drawn towards an air intake conduit downstream of the air intake fan, which reduces a flame temperature within the hydrocarbon reformer and reduces the formation of NOx.
