Assembling, Disassembling, Or Removing Cartridge Type Valve (e.g., Insertable And Removable As A Unit, Etc.) Patents (Class 137/315.11)
  • Patent number: 6584996
Abstract: A fuel tank has a recess formed on the inner surface of the upper wall. A vent valve has a mounting portion extending therefrom with a resiliently deflectable disc formed thereon and a guide disc spaced from the deflectable disc. Upon insertion into the recess the deflectable disc is deflected and the periphery thereof frictionally engages the inner surface of the tank wall recess. The guide member slidably fits into the recess to prevent lateral movement of the mounting portion and removal from the recess.

  • Patent number: 6581626
Abstract: A backflow prevention apparatus has a housing with an opening having a predetermined length. A first valve body, and a second valve body may be slidably sealed with one another, and compressed such that their combined length is less then the length of the opening. In the compressed state the valve bodies may be inserted within the opening of the housing and then elongated such that the ends of valve bodies engage and sliding seal with segments of the housing. A spacer may be placed between the first valve body and the second valve body to secure them within the opening. An intermediate valve body may be introduced between the first valve body and the second valve body.

  • Patent number: 6539971
Abstract: A technique of assembling a solenoid operated valve to a hydraulic manifold in which the manifold has provided thereon undercut stanchions disposed on opposite sides of a cavity communicating with fluid valving passages. A U-shaped bracket with a central aperture is received over the solenoid and a first pair of tabs which engage lugs disposed respectively on opposite sides of the valve body function to prevent relative rotation between the bracket and valve. The bracket has a pair of oppositely extending resiliently deflectable spring arms each having a pair of second tabs thereon; and, the spring arms are deflected on the stanchions upon user insertion of the valve body into the cavity. The spring arms resiliently engage the undercuts to prevent removal of the valve, and the second tabs engage the sides of the stanchions to prevent relative rotation of the bracket and valve.

  • Patent number: 6497245
Abstract: A throttle assembly including a bore wall to which a seal member is previously attached is inserted into a key-like slot of an intake air passage body, and flanges are fixed to each other by screws. A bore inner wall of the bore wall is placed to correspond to an inner wall of an intake air passage, and the seal member completely seals between the intake air passage body and the throttle assembly. That is, the throttle assembly including the seal member is inserted into the key-like slot, so that the throttle assembly is easily attached to the intake air passage body, a sealing mechanism therebetween is simplified, and a stress strain of the bore wall is prevented.

  • Patent number: 6484950
Abstract: To provide an expansion valve which permits both the assembling cost and the cost of parts to be effectively reduced by a large margin and thus is highly economical. A high-pressure refrigerant pipe, a valve casing and a low-pressure refrigerant pipe are previously formed integrally with an evaporator. At the time of assembling, an expansion valve unit having a minimum function to serve as an expansion valve is inserted into the valve casing and fixed thereto by a clip, and a distal end portion of a temperature sensing cylinder is fixed to an outlet pipe of the evaporator, thereby constructing an expansion valve. No special joints are required to connect the expansion valve unit to the high-pressure and low-pressure refrigerant pipes, and therefore, the cost of parts can be cut down.

  • Patent number: 6453936
Abstract: A valve system for the pre-engagement unit of a vehicle braking pressure modulator contains solenoid valves, which are controlled by an electronic braking system. Pneumatic pressure is fed into a brake cylinder on the vehicle wheels via a pressure regulating channel of the pre-engagement unit. The solenoid valves are configured as cartridge solenoid valves, so that assembly is simplified, and utilization of elastic tolerance compensating elements is unnecessary. A preferred embodiment includes three cylinder bodies connected end-to-end with no increase in cylinder diameter. This embodiment enables the use of identical armatures and identical magnet coils for different valve types, such as 3/2-way solenoid valves or 2/2-way solenoid valves. Also, these valves may be configured as normally open or normally closed, with identical outside dimensions. As such, three cartridge solenoid valves can be combined into a compact triple valve cartridge unit that further simplifies the assembly process.

  • Patent number: 6357666
Abstract: A fitting construction of the thermostat 1, having a valve body 12 which actuates by the function of a piston portion 11, 15, 15a, 16 and a spring portion 6 depending upon a temperature change in the cooling fluid to cross said fluid channel FA, and which blocks or communicates the fluid channel by the movement is disclosed. The construction has a valve body 17 possessing an insert hole 5a into which the valve body 17 is inserted, an alignment groove 2b formed along the direction of the insertion of the valve body 17, projection 17g is placed on the circumference surface of the valve body 17, which is engaged with the alignment groove 2b, and which can slide along the alignment groove 2b, and a cover 19 which is screwed from the hole opening 2a onto the insert hole 5a, and which pushes and supports the valve body 17 at the end thereof. By having such a construction, there is no need for enlarging the diameter of the pipe, making it possible to moderate the restrictions of the thermostat placement.
