  • Patent number: 10487959
Abstract: Various devices and techniques related to magnetically-actuated valves are generally described. Magnetically-actuated valves may include mechanisms to completely seal the valve during normal operation. However, mechanical access to the internal actuation mechanism may be temporarily provided in the event of a stuck valve. Access to a mechanical non-magnetically coupled portion of the internal actuation member may be provided for emergency access. The access to the internal actuation member is sealed off under normal operating conditions. A sealed port covers the portion of the internal actuation member during normal magnetically-coupled operation, but can be removed for direct mechanical access to the actuator. Furthermore, a backup seal may be sheltered within this port. The backup seal is typically not exposed to the outside environment or degradation, but prevents leaks during emergency actuation when access to the internal actuation member is temporarily provided.

Abstract: A digester tank has a servicing device that allows access to the interior of the digester tank. The sealing device may have a movable retention wall adapted to resist the pressure of the gas inside the digester by one or more of a) increasing the bending resistance of the retention wall, for example by inflating pockets in the wall, b) forcing the lower edge of the retention wall downwards, for example by weight, a mechanical arm or inflating pockets, and c) providing a mechanical structure within the retention wall, for example a non-moving cage-like structure. A sealing device with a fixed wall has a pipe with an isolation valve between the headspace of the tank and the inside of the sealing device. In operation, a seal may be formed across the separation curtain by raising the level of the liquid contents and closing the isolation valve.

Abstract: A gas pressure regulator adapted for being mounted to a gas cylinder is provided. The gas pressure regulator includes a body defining a front portion and opposed side portion and a plurality of gas pressure indicators mounted to the front portion of the body. A bonnet is mounted to an exterior portion of the body, and a pressure adjustment knob is mounted to one of the side portions of the body, proximate the bonnet, and horizontally relative to a longitudinal axis of the pressurized gas cylinder. An energy absorbing device is operatively engaged with the pressure adjustment knob and the bonnet, the energy absorbing device being capable of absorbing energy from impact loads imposed on the pressure adjustment knob.

Abstract: A disclosed gas supplying apparatus includes a pressure controller that reduces a primary pressure thereby providing a secondary pressure greater than a process pressure at which a predetermined process is performed and less than the atmospheric pressure in a secondary pipe; a pressure sensor that measures a pressure in the secondary pipe; a first open/close valve provided in the secondary pipe; an open/close valve controller that opens or closes the first open/close valve; a pressure comparator that compares the pressure measured by the pressure sensor in the secondary pipe with a first set pressure that is greater than the process pressure by a predetermined pressure; and a controller that outputs a signal to the open/close valve controller thereby closing the first open/close valve, when the pressure comparator determines that the pressure in the secondary pipe is less than the first set pressure.

Abstract: A cleanout protector includes a hollow sleeve having an upper end, a lower end and at least one outer wall. The lower end includes a plurality of piercing members for penetrating surrounding soil. Any one of a plurality of fixtures, such as a solar lamp or a decorative design element, is removably mounted on the upper end of the sleeve. Accordingly, a user superimposes the sleeve on a cleanout and inserts the piercing members into the soil as far as possible. A desired fixture is mounted on the sleeve thereby protecting and decoratively concealing the cleanout.

Abstract: A valve includes a plug mounted to a lower end of a valve rod for opening or closing a fluid passage in the body. The valve rod extends through a cap and a stretchable jacket. The stretchable jacket includes first and second ends and a deformation section between the first and second ends. The first end of the stretchable jacket is fixed to the cap. The second end of the stretchable jacket is fixed to the valve rod. A stop is located at the deformation section, dividing the stretchable jacket into first and second stretchable sections. A pull rod is fixed to the valve rod or the cap and slideable relative to the stop. First and second positioning members are mounted on the pull rod to limit travel of the pull rod by contacting with the stop, avoiding over stretching and undesired compression of the first or second stretchable section.

Abstract: A valve manifold box comprises a chamber and a front cover. Significantly, the chamber is manufactured by injection molding and is one-piece construction. Moreover, the chamber comprises a back board, a sidewall, at least an outfall, and multiple fittings and inside surface at the bottom sidewall has changes in an inclination angle for collecting the liquid within the chamber. By means of injection molding, one piece construction of the chamber is obtained such that it prevents chemicals from leaking outside. Besides, by using the design that the inside surface at the bottom sidewall has changes in an inclination angle, liquid can be easily collected and drained. Also, since it is unnecessary to frequently maintain the valve manifold box, maintenance costs are saved.
