Rectilinear Valve Stem Rigid With Reactor Surface Patents (Class 137/505.41)
  • Publication number: 20040123906
Abstract: A variable device for regulating the outlet pressure of a fluid from a valve body, includes a pressure-sensing chamber having a wall formed by a resilient self-restoring diaphragm which is responsive to pressure in the chamber. A valve element connected to the diaphragm controls flow into the chamber. Increased pressure in the chamber decreases the flow into the chamber and decreasing pressure increases flow whereby fluid flow out from the chamber is maintained at a desired pressure. The outlet pressure is adjusted by deflecting the diaphragm in a direction to open the valve while permitting a section of the diaphragm connected to the valve member to remain responsive to the pressure in the chamber. An adjustment cover is provided to adjustably deflect the diaphragm and includes a catch mechanism to allow adjustment of the fluid outlet pressures and also retain the device at a desired value. An indicator arrangement may be provided to visually indicate the fluid outlet pressure.

  • Patent number: 6705343
Abstract: The pressure regulator has a regulator body with a control chamber and outlet and inlet passageways opening thereto, a bonnet with a bonnet chamber and a diaphragm separating the chambers. A filter housing is mounted in the control chamber and mounts a filter and a valve seat that opens to the inlet passageway while spring urged mechanism moves the a valve stem to permit fluid flow through the valve seat and into the control chamber between the filter and diaphragm when the pressure therein falls below a preselected level, and then through the filter to the outlet passageway. When the pressure in the outlet passageway is at or above a preselected value, the pressure acts against a diaphragm whereby the piston retains the valve stem in a fluid flow blocking position.

  • Publication number: 20040003847
Abstract: A method and a regulating valve for maintaining a fluid pressure within a defined volume (3), and simultaneous registering of discharge of fluid from the volume as a result of leakage or consumption. The fluid is supplied from a pressure regulating valve (20) provided with a means (5-7, 22-26) which opens for the supply of fluid to the volume (3) when the pressure therein has sunk below a first value (P1), and which shuts off the fluid supply when the pressure in the volume (3) has achieved a preset second value (P2) which is substantially higher than the first value (P1). Thus, after each opening of the regulating valve (20) there occurs a distinct pressure increase at the valve outlet. This pressure increase is registered as a pressure pulse, and the frequency of delivered pressure pulses is monitored and utilised as a measure of occurring leakage and/or consumption of the supplied fluid.

  • Publication number: 20020083980
Abstract: A gas pressure-reducing valve includes a pressure-reducing chamber for generating a gas pressure that acts on one surface of a diaphragm, a valve body that can sit on a valve seat having in its central part a valve hole communicating with the pressure-reducing chamber, and a spring biasing the diaphragm in a direction that detaches the valve body from the valve seat. A valve housing is formed by conjoining a body, a partition, and a cover. The partition forms the pressure-reducing chamber between itself and the body and forms a pressure action chamber between itself and the diaphragm. The cover forms the spring chamber between itself and the other surface of the diaphragm and has the peripheral edge of the diaphragm clamped between itself and the partition. The partition has a through hole for allowing the valve stem to run through in an airtight and axially slidable manner and a communicating hole for providing communication between the pressure action chamber and the pressure-reducing chamber.

  • Patent number: 6363964
Abstract: An adjustable pressure regulator for controlling the delivery of a gas from a high pressure source to a low pressure device at a predetermined outlet pressure includes a body having an inlet port and an outlet port and defines a flow path therebetween. An insert is positioned in the body, in the flow path. A juncture of the insert with the body defines a first seal within the flow path. A piston is positioned in the insert for reciprocal movement therein. A pin assembly is adjustably mounted to the piston and extends through the insert. The pin assembly and insert define a variable pressure region therebetween. The pin assembly includes a sealing head portion positioned for cooperating engagement with the first seal. The pin assembly is reciprocal with the piston between a closed state wherein the sealing head region engages the first seal to isolate the inlet port from the outlet port and an opened stated wherein the sealing head region is disengaged from the first seal.
