  • Patent number: 7836911
Abstract: A pressure regulator which includes a body. The body has inner walls defining an inlet port. Slidably moving within the inlet port is a hollow stem of a valve and piston assembly. The hollow stem is in slidable gas sealing contact with the inlet port. The valve and piston assembly includes a piston having a piston head with a valved opening therethrough. In the opening in the piston head is the arm of a plug. A body of the plug lies within the sliding piston held in place by a keeper spring, the keeper spring for maintaining a removed end of the plug arm against inner walls of the body. With such a structure, movement of the piston and valve assembly will be capable of unseating the plug from the valved opening in the piston allowing gas to flow from the hollow stem at the inlet port through an inner volume of the piston, through the valved opening of the piston head and into a regulated gas chamber defined in part by the inner walls of the body and an outer surface of the piston head.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a flow control device, such as a regulator, for controlling fluid flow between an inlet port and an outlet port, and having an internal adjustment mechanism for varying the outlet pressure of the device, including the pressure required to close the device. The device may include first and second components, such as a body and a bonnet, demountably attached to form a housing of the device and defining an internal device cavity. A piston is disposed and movable within the device cavity, and in fluid sealing relationship with the inner surface of the device cavity. The components and the piston are configured to define a channel within the device cavity placing the inlet port in fluid communication with the outlet port, and with the piston being movable between a closed position preventing fluid flow and an open position allowing fluid flow to the outlet port.

  • Patent number: 7654282
Abstract: An easy-type water pressure reducing apparatus comprises a connecting tube having a bore extending through an inlet end and an outlet end. The bore has an annular seat with a smaller-diameter inlet chamber integrally extending at both sides to which a movable element with an inlet port to receive a spring element is mounted. The movable element also includes positioning guide blocks to fit to water-guiding vents of the inlet chamber, and a ringed groove with a sealing ring to abut tight against the inlet chamber, forming a back-and-forth movable positioning space there-between. Therefore, when water pressure at the outlet end is larger than that at the inlet end, water flow blocked by a water plug of the movable element will push the movable element towards the inlet end, compressing the spring element and closing the water-guiding vents gradually to reduce the water flow and stabilize the water pressure thereby.

  • Patent number: 7575021
Abstract: A gas pressure regulator of the kind in which a valve member is spring biased to the valve-open position and is moved to the valve-closed position when upstream pressure at an outlet overcomes the spring is arranged such that gas pressure at an inlet end of the valve member 12 does not influence it in the valve-opening direction. In the embodiment of FIGS. 3 and 4 a bottom end of the valve member receives a piston-like plug. Openings in the wall of the valve member are occluded when the valve is closed. In the open position of the valve member pressure is equal all round each opening. In another embodiment of the invention a spool is provided having one enlarged end within the valve member and another outside it. Pressure on the combined surfaces of the end and the end of the valve member is equal to the pressure on the end of the spool.

  • Patent number: 7500491
Abstract: A sanitary fluid pressure control valve, including a valve body having an input side and a discharge side with a restricted chamber therebetween, and a reciprocable plug extending through the restricted chamber with one plug end on the input side and the other plug end on the discharge side. A diaphragm is secured to the one plug end, and defines a pressure chamber adjacent the discharge side. A fluid passage in the plug extends through the restricted chamber, and has an outlet adjacent the diaphragm and an inlet spaced from the plug other end. The pressure in the pressure chamber relative to the pressure in the discharge side substantially controls the position of the plug. In a first plug position, the fluid passage inlet is substantially blocked in the restricted chamber. The plug is reciprocable from the first position to fluid flow positions in which the fluid passage inlet is variously exposed on the input side.
