  • Patent number: 9079053
Abstract: The present invention realizes a new actuated valve type water flow detection device that can be applied to a pipe with a relatively large bore diameter. The water flow detection device A includes a coil spring for urging a detection rod in an opening direction of a valve body. Therefore, while detecting water flow by linking a rotation of the detection rod 11 to a rotation of the valve body when the valve body opens or closes by a differential pressure, the detection rod does not apply a closing load to the valve body that is released. Therefore, even when the rotation of the valve body is small because the water flow in the secondary side is small in a conventional actuated valve type water flow detection device, it is possible to increase an opening angle of the valve body.

Abstract: A valve is provided with multiple ports joining multiple fluid conduits leading between fluid sources and fluid destinations. A central hub manifold or other control element resides within a body supporting the ports, and can rotate relative to the valve body. Fluid flow paths within the central hub or other control element are selectively aligned or not aligned with the ports. The valve indicates which ports are open or closed by providing unique marks adjacent the ports corresponding with being open or closed. When the positive marks are visible, such as through windows in a rotating structure fixed to the central hub or other control element, the corresponding ports are open. Abstract: A status assembly to provide visual and electronic indication of the position (open, closed, in-between) of the ram of a ram-type blowout preventer (BOP). The assembly is capable of coupling with a hydraulic motor that can be used to open and close the ram locks. The status assembly includes a rotatable element protruding from the BOP, a gear rotatable by the rotatable element, and an indicator that indicates the rotation position of the rotatable element and thus the linear position of the BOP ram. Some embodiments can also include a sensor that outputs an electronic signal to the system operator and can be incorporated into the main display for the BOP control system. This device is able to give immediate feedback to operators and to indicate whether each ram has achieved its intended travel.

Abstract: A drive device (10) for a valve (1), to a valve (1) for controlling a gas and/or liquid flow (40), and a system (60) for controlling a medium (40). The drive device (10) has a housing (11) for accommodating a coil (17d), which is fixed with respect to the housing (11), and a drive rod (14), on which a pole shoe (15d) and a permanently-magnetic element (16c) that is magnetized, or a soft-magnetic element (16c) that can be magnetized, in the axial direction of the drive rod (14) are attached such that the drive rod (14) can be moved with a translational motion relative to the coil (17d) by magnetic force. The drive rod (14) can be coupled to a shut-off body (33) of the valve (1) that can be moved with a translational motion such that a translational motion of the drive rod (14) affects a translational motion of the shut-off body (33) for opening and closing the valve (1).

Abstract: A balance or flow limiting valve features a valve body/member having a flow rate indicator/scale containing setting having printed flow rates calibrated in units of measure in volume per time increment between a minimum flow rate position (MIN) and a maximum flow rate position (MAX); and a knob/handle having a position indicator and being moveable to any continuous position on the flow rate indicator/scale between MIN and MAX in response to a user applied force, where the relationship between the flow rate indicator/scale and the position indicator is based on calibrated flow characteristics of the balance or flow limiting valve. The user can set an exact desired flow rate in one operation by moving the knob/handle to a desired position between MIN and MAX without consulting a printed flow curve or balance calculator to determine the desired exact flow rate.
