Sequentially Closing And Opening Alternately Seating Flow Controllers Patents (Class 137/627.5)
  • Patent number: 8469057
Abstract: A valve includes a valve cap, a valve body, a diaphragm, biasing means and a locking mechanism. The valve cap includes a plurality of process conduits and process ports. The valve body faces the valve cap and includes a plurality of plunger passages extending therein. The diaphragm is positioned between the valve cap and the valve body. The valve body includes a plunger assembly, a first support structure and a second support structure. The plunger assembly includes a plurality of plungers, each slidable between a closed position and an open position. In the closed position, the plunger deforms the diaphragm in order to block communication between two of the process ports. In the open position, the plunger is retracted away from the diaphragm. Each plunger is either a normally closed plunger or a normally open plunger. The normally closed plungers are mounted upon first support structure and the normally open plungers are mounted upon the second support structure.

  • Patent number: 6789856
Abstract: A lockout device couplable between a pneumatically-operable vehicle parking brake and a plunger-actuated control valve. The plunger is movable between a brake-disengaging position in which pressurized air flows through the control valve to the parking brake, and a brake-engaging position in which such air flow is prevented. The device has a shaft which is rotatable with respect to the plunger. The shaft has recessed and non-recessed portions. The plunger has a second recess. A key is removably couplable to the shaft and is rotatable between an engaged position in which the shaft's non-recessed portion protrudes into the second recess while the plunger is in the brake-engaging position, preventing movement of the plunger into the brake-disengaging position; and, a disengaged position in which the recessed portion of the shaft intersects the second recess, permitting movement of the plunger between the brake-disengaging and engaging positions.

  • Patent number: 6789574
Abstract: A pneumatic control assembly includes a valve forming a bore that is openably blocked by a spring-biased, first plug. An inner rod is movable in the bore with a lower end engageable with the first blockage plug and an upper end forming a second plug. The inner rod is spring biased to separate from the first plug. An intermediate rod forms a channel having an opening confronting and separated from the second plug by a basing spring. A vent hole is defined in the intermediate rod and in fluid communication with the channel. A piston is formed around the intermediate rod between the opening and vent hole. An outer rod is supported on the piston by a resilient member. When the outer rod is forced toward the intermediate rod, the resilient member is deformed, driving the intermediate rod toward the inner rod and the second plug blocks the opening of the intermediate rod. The engagement between the intermediate and inner rods drives the inner rod to urge the first plug to open the bore.

Abstract: A valve assembly includes a valve with a bobbin/valve body, a solenoid and a plunger. The bobbin/valve body is formed in one piece, and defines all of the valve's inlet/outlet ports and forms the entire support structure for the solenoid and the plunger. The valve may be connected to a manifold by press-fitting port nipples of the valve into corresponding channels in the manifold. The manifold is formed of a resilient, elastomeric material, and the port nipples include radial projecting barbs, which enable the valve to be fluidly-connected to the manifold without additional O-ring seals or other mechanical sealing devices. Fittings with barbs can likewise be press-fit in other channels of the manifold to connect the valve assembly with fluid lines or other components in the fluid system. The fittings can also be provided unitary with the manifold, and/or adhesively attached to the manifold and/or to the fluid lines and other components.

A first passage extends between the inlet and the outlet and a second passage extends between the outlet and the exhaust. The control valve system includes a first valve disposed within the first passage. The first valve is movable between a closed position and an opened position. Furthermore, the control valve system includes a regulator circuit operably coupled to the housing, which outputs a pilot pressure in response to an inlet pressure. An actuating member is slidably disposed within the housing and moveable in response to a pressure differential between the outlet and the pilot pressure. The actuating member independently actuates the first valve and the second valve to provide a quick pressure and exhaust feature.

  • Patent number: 6634382
Abstract: A hydraulic control device for an apparatus for injecting fuel into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine has an externally controllable actuation device and a valve part, which cooperates with this actuation device. In order to determine the injection parameters, this valve part controls pressure fluid connections between at least one high pressure-carrying conduit and a low pressure-carrying conduit. The valve part has at least two valve seats in order to produce a multi-stage injection event. These are controlled by separate valve members, which are guided so that they can move in relation to each other and can be actuated in the same direction. Multi-stage injection events can consequently be produced by means of a single triggering of the actuation device. This reduces the triggering frequency and therefore reduces the heat generation of the actuation device.

  • Patent number: 6499670
Abstract: A directional control valve having three positions controls the direction of flow through an asphalt distributor. The directional control valve is interposed between a pump and a feed line assembly to a spray bar. The directional control valve has a first position in which flow is recirculated through the pump, a second position in which flow is delivered to the spray bar and a third position providing for handspray and transfer operations. A pressure relief valve is provided for controlling return flow of asphalt from the spray bar to the tank. The pressure relief valve is open in spray bar circulation mode and is closed during a spraying mode. According to the preferred embodiment the directional valve and pressure relief valve are contained within a modular control valve assembly. The directional control valve eliminates the need to reverse the flow in one of the individual feed lines and feed line assembly connecting the modular control valve assembly to the spray bar.

The valve avoids the problem of liquid remaining in the flow channel of a first valve component by providing flow channel intersecting segment which intersects both components of the sliding valve so that in a module disconnecting orientation, each valve component defines separate segments of the flow channel while in the connected orientation, the valve components define a single flow channel. The construction allows for liquid flow through the valve independent of the module being in connected or disconnected position.
