The flank of the groove strip of the bottom shell which cooperates with the rabbet strip is divided into an upper partial surface inclined relative to the rabbet strip at an angle .alpha. to the normal line and a lower partial surface which is inclined at an angle .beta. to the normal line. The angles .alpha. and .beta. have opposite rotational directions. The rabbet strip of the top shell has surfaces corresponding to the surfaces of the groove strip so as to substantially facilitate closing and opening of the housing.

    Abstract: A heat shrinkable covering in the form of a sheet which is heat shrinkable in a longitudinal direction, and a stiffening member connected at each of two longitudinally spaced transversely extending superimposable zones of the sheet. One stiffening member has holes and the other studs in the form of arm portions which are insertable through the holes to secure the stiffening members together. The arm portions can be flattened down onto the outside of the covering to retain the stiffening members together while reducing risk of the studs interfering with items such as cables adjacent the covered article. Preferably the studs have a resiliently compressible head portion which snap fits into holes formed through the sheet adjacent the holes in the stiffening member to facilitate locating the overlapped zones of the sheet relative to one another. In use, the sheet is wrapped around an article, the stiffening members are engaged together, and the sheet is then heat shrunk.

    Abstract: A laminated heat insulating jacket for conduits having a self-locking separable plastic seam for holding the jacket assembled about a fluid conveying conduit and more particularly a conduit of the type embraced by a heat tracer tube helpful in heating the fluid conduit and its contents. The exterior layer or main body of the jacket comprises suitable impervious plastic strip material equipped along its lateral edges with separable seam forming members. Laminated to the main body strip are one or more layers of resilient heat insulating material and an exposed layer of foil-like heat conducting and heat reflective material serving to minimize heat losses from the conduit and to distribute heat from a heat tracer tube to adjacent areas of a fluid conduit embraced thereby.
